“Empathy - feel it, then replace it with compassion.” - Charlie Wood I feel like there is a debate about what empathy is. A good friend of mine recently said he used to think being an empath was a good thing, he now thinks it really difficult. Although being an empath comes with ability to feel others emotions and have compassion for them, it also comes with the fact we can FEEL others emotions. Almost to the point of not knowing if it’s your emotion or mine. Learning to embrace the flow of emotions from yourself and others includes learning to be objective so that you can sift out which ones belong where and what is TRUE for you. Did my first mud run with my son over the weekend. He lit up! Surprised me how fun it was getting totally muddy on a crazy obstacle course 😁. At the end my face hurt from smiling and laughing, and my son’s radiance was palpable. TW ⚠️ vulnerable post. Skip if it's not for you. Also it's long but has an important message. Newer people maybe wondering what this profile is about, older clients might show a little concern. In 2022 I pretty much had one of my worst years to date personally. It took me back mentally to another year which I thoroughly hated which was 2018. Where I felt a little lost and confused about my future. But what I realised in 2022 is that I had overcome 2018 and learnt a lot about myself along the way. I found that I was able to be very passionate about things I cared about and loved that I can do the shadow work required to create something new. So then I realised in times where I thought I was stuck I wasn't I had just stopped making momentum. So I read a book which i talk about alot but it was a turning point and it helped me through. The wim Hoffman method. I realised I needed to alter my physical state to shift my mindset that had become bogged down in intrusive thoughts and just plain pain. So breathing exercises and cold water exposure have become my bible. From there I also realised my physical health could do with some improvement so I got a coach and decided to build. Build some physical strength, re-teach my brain and body how to work with discomfort instead of moving away from it. I started doing new brave things, the back end of 2022/2023 I decided would be a time to start new experiences, fight irrational fears and enjoy the process. Its safe to say iv surprised myself in the last 6 months, more than I have in a long time. Today was important because I'm actually a bit scared of open water. Today that changed, no panic, no fear, in fact it was one of the most peaceful days. Because my brain now knows I won't stand for its BS any more and I Will keep moving. So Behold Me is going through at little transformation so iv taken a little detour but it's to create Maria 2.0 who I hope you love as much as I do building this version of myself! Life is so cyclical in terms of ups and downs, happys and sads, challenges and feeling on top of the world. We’ve all dealt w it. The quality of your consciousness will determine how controlled you are by the subconscious limitations you hold and will there by impact your ability to step towards your dreams and goals. The crazy thing is, is that most people don’t realize that their actions or inactions are a result of the subconscious programming they have. So they try to change their behaviors, try to take action towards their souls desires…but, no matter what, they seem to be living in a loop. And it is through the very simple yet profound moment of observation that we access our empowered self. We access a higher state of consciousness. We see that these thoughts are not our truth. How often do you identify with the thoughts in your mind? Do they control what you do or don’t do with your life? Do they send you into spirals of pain and suffering? If they do have a grip on your life, it may be time to gently raise your awareness and raise your consciousness. Because when we do this, these thoughts lose their power over us. We’re able to hear the whispers of fear and doubt and continue to walk towards our dreams. We’re able to hear the inner critic tell us it’s not perfect enough and still take messy imperfect action. According to Michael Singer, “the highest spiritual path is Life itself”. If we can learn how to navigate life and live it fully each day, life can become a liberating experience. 🙌 It comes down to realizing that we have really only one choice to make. And that is, do I want to BE happy OR do I NOT want to BE happy? 😊☹️ Maybe this sounds too simplistic, and you’re saying “but what about all the sorrow, anger, disappointment, pain and suffering I experience?” Once you truly make the choice to BE happy you see that it is YOU who has created the conditions for your happiness. I will BE happy if this happens, I won’t BE happy if that happens…. The events of your life are just that, events. The story that you create around the events is what gives them meaning. Happiness is a choice, it is a state of BE-ing, not a state of Do-ing. The key to Happiness is keeping your heart open, no matter what happens. ❤️ We are not here to get the the car, get the job, get the spouse, get the kids, get the house, the soul doesn’t care what you do for a living, the soul only cares about who you are BEING while you are DOING the things. We can not control everything that happens around us and to us, but we can use these life experiences, as tools to help us along the way.
