So, after choosing my leg # for the RTO, I got a bit of anxiety because of the last leg I will be running, itโs 3.3 miles total elevation gain 345 ft. Iโve always struggled in running uphill. This one is going to be a challenge for me(but I know I will be ok.) Todayโs treadmill trial to see how I would feel at an incline of 12% at a speed of 3.4, I was able to get a timing of 47 mins, intervals, cuz I was not about to pass out trying. lol I felt ok. A challenge, but a good one! Little by little. Iโll bring you guys on my training journey for this one! And for the ladies that will be doing the RTO on here!! Another run in the books! Today was hard. I was already having some pain throughout the day. If you saw me running, I looked like a T-Rex holding my girls down while I ran. I need to find a better sports bra that zips. The two I have arenโt quite supportive enough. I wore a regular sports bra a few days ago and it took 10โ15 minutes to figure out how to get myself out of it without cutting it! (Cutting it was definitely not an option! It was the first time I wore it๐คฃ) each day gets a little better but I bet Iโm sore tomorrow! Peep those times! This is a Mental Toughness Challenge. Itโs meant to challenge you mentally - to see if you can do it even on days when you donโt feel like you can. Itโs meant to train your brain to do something and stick with it long term by building a daily habit. Itโs meant to make you do things you told yourself that you would do. And to avoid slacking. Iโve successfully completed 75 Hard two years ago, so why am I doing thisโฆ..again?!? I NEED a change in mindset. I WANT to be consistent on my early morning workouts. I DESIRE to read more that will encourage me and help me in life. I HAVE to be better about my water intake. I STRIVE to be active and healthy because thatโs the best version of myself. And my family (and myself) deserves that. I am building habits to last and a routine. Iโm putting myself out there, again, for the encouragement and the accountability. Cheering a teen on is one of my favorite things to do. I love to show up and cheer on my own children as well as other teens! When teens see us excited for them, encouraging them, and rooting for them, that pours into their identity. It tells them that you think they are worth it. How important it is for teens to know that someone sees value in them! This request doesn't mean a teen needs us in the stands or audience being the loudest. It doesn't mean that they want us to coach or direct them. It simply means they want to see a friendly face, someone who loves them be there. My teen daughter tells me all the time I don't have to go to things. But, I go anyways because I enjoy seeing her do her thing and I want her to know I will always show up for her. These years pass quickly so I am willing to be all in whenever I can. I gained weight. There. I admitted it and I donโt have to be ashamed of myself. I indulged while I was home visiting my parents (okay, okay, I indulged ever since my kiddos birthday in May). But I guess you could say I hit my โrock bottomโ but Iโll save that post for another time. In the meantime, Iโm working on the C25K program again. And my new mantra is โI can do hard things. I am worth it. Consistency is what matters.โ My brain wants changes six days in. My brain wants me to wake up down 100 pounds and feeling great. But there is work to be done. Started working on this again after a long hiatus, I had loads of excuses- one of which was I donโt have enough titanium white. The underline factor was I had impostor syndrome kicked in- I am not skilled enough to paint this! Today I felt a bit different and finally started the process again all thanks to what I realized last night about myself. We went for bowling thanks to Keanuโs friends bday party, where the parents were playing too. Who was the loudest cheerleader for each one of themโ- ME!!!! I was cheering so loud that my throat was hurting, thatโs point I realised I love motivating , I love cheering everyone on, I love when we put effort in something. That reminded me I needed to cheer myself on taking small to big steps no matter how how scary these might seem- in this worst scenario would be the painting will look horrible- but I can always paint over it- right?!! The last handful of months have been challenging me in ways I have not experienced before. Iโve had ups and downs - and, if im being honest (which I try to always be with all of you) Iโve REALLY been feeling the downs. Iโve experienced huge shifts in my professional life - things Iโve really had to work through, and that Iโm STILL working through - that have left me wondering if I really have what it takes to pursue my ultimate goals. This Saturday AM will be my 3rd time running the Charles St. 12 miler and my 2nd consecutive year running the B3 series (which is a 5k, 10k and the 12 miler). Keeping my fingers crossed that the temperatures drop and honestly I wouldnโt mind a little rain (ha obviously not a down pour, but you know what I mean).
