The Ozark sundrop, aka Missouri evening primrose, in my garden lived up to its name this week, delivering its first big dollop of sunshine with perfect timing after all the storms finally cleared away. These big flowers only last a day or so, but I think I’ll get a pretty good conveyor belt of them for the next few weeks. I’m not growing this species for sale yet, but I’m going to give it my best shot next season. This full-sun plant tolerates drought and clay/rocky soil (making it perfect for a lot of gardens in these parts).
