🍐 The Paris Olympic qualification cycle has ended, and as painful as it is to say that the USA Men’s Epee squad didn’t qualify a team, nor did I qualify as an individual, this is one of the first fencing seasons that I’ve had in a long time that contains very few regrets. What a great feeling it is to have our USA Men’s Epee team rebuilding and working together to start our long climb towards a shared goal of LA2028. Individually, many moving pieces are starting to fall into place as well. I feel good. 🍐 Thank you for the support - special kudos to @dashitaaa, @omarelgeziry, my family, friends, USOPC Sports Psych, Auxo Solutions, @usafencing, @seeqsupply, @af_fencing, @dukefen, @thedavidweck, @newyorkac and @skaarperformance. Training a new generation Physical education in the modern day needs to be about more than whatever makes the institution teaching it money. Everyone deserves to know about a vast array of fitness modalities. More importantly, everyBODY deserves to know how to live, move, and be physically useful without pain. Not only is it a shame to live without knowing what one is capable of, but it's even more terrible to feel limited by one's body. Intelligent and personally unique training is the gateway to physical self expression and through that, an unparalleled mental well being coupled with the physical. If I am doing my job as a coach and educator correctly, my clients will come to a point where I am no longer needed. They should walk away from training with more knowledge than they came with in addition to the strength and skill accomplishments. Eventually, that culminates in my clients becoming leaders, teachers, and innovators in their own rights. I want my clients to be better than I am.

2024 Race the Tortoise 5k 🐢 I keep finding myself at races and I loved having some family join me today! A few years ago I didn’t give much of a positive influence. Completed my first @spartanrace a few days ago! I had teammates @risingspiritmovement and @val_tnb with me in person here in Florida, and @between_two_binaries in spirit as they did theirs in Cali the same day! We stayed together as a team and crushed it, landing right around the 50th percentile 🙌 I need to work on my rope climb and ring swing. I was so proud I cleared all of the high walls and the most of other obstacles. I was mentally tough at very tall/open heights which is a fear of mine. I completed 17 of 21 obstacles, and attempted all. I CRUSHED the monkey bars! My biggest goal outside of finishing the race. The monkey bars are far apart, high and hard, one of the more failed obstacles and I trained on the bars every single day for months and months to be able to ring that bell at the end and I DID IT! Gotta mention how proud I am of my foot still only 8 months since I broke it and it felt great during and after! In toe shoes! A big goal is to complete one of these barefoot 🦶 It was MUDDY. It was physically and mentally demanding. When I invented the BOSU Ball in 1999, I said to myself, “I will be the world’s foremost expert on the subject of balance, measured by locomotion.” 80,000+ hours into my study… I can tell you how SIMPLE it really is to walk with balance (which millions of people don’t). Remember industry, I used to be like you, pretending I knew more than I did, rather than just cutting to the chase. I’m the best there’s ever been at the biomechanics of locomotion. …And I guarantee you not one expert on the subject of gait is going to challenge me publicly in debate. #HeadOverFoot is the foundation & the spinal engine drives efficient gait. For 17 years it was “BOSU scientifically sucks and David Weck is unscientific charlatan (worse than ignorant they 100,000’s diligently tried to DESTROY my business (of HELPING - NOT HARMING (non-contact injuries).” Now — #HeadOverFoot — they’ve gone silent. Deafening SILENCE. Henry Ford was FEARED by wagon makers. And justifiably so according to history. Only this time the “wagon makers” get to make “cars” with the benefit of Ford pioneering the path. Scarcity mindset is a poisonous misery. High jump is Fosbury OR LOSE A TRACK EVENT. Walking is Weck OR LESS JOY & MORE PAIN. Science guy You cannot fake your Biomechanical understanding with ME. You are a just another certified FRAUD when you say YOU teach First Principles movement training solutions — and then sabotage EVERY HUMAN BEING you ever work with including those spoked out from ALL the fitness professionals you’ve misinformed. It ain’t pretty. And the “BEST” coach at Baylor - a legend - also has a TRACK record of PUNISHING SPRINTERS WITH SLOW VOLUME. A f’cking LEGEND who only sub optimized Michael Johnson’s fullest potential. WRONG Biomechanically. WRONG Training stimulus. Yet HE’s a f’cking LEGEND — which should be insulting to a Coach who cares. Athletes (humans) should be physically educated to MOVE like Big Cats who harness the POWER of TEAM like DAWGZ. Completed my first 15k today! My biggest goals were to finish & to push myself to do something hard. The best parts, outside of showing myself I can do it, were the small physical wins inside the race along with how much I’m improving mentally. This is an unbelievable accomplishment for me. I was so nervous and didn’t feel ready, I almost backed out more than a handful of times, but I probably would’ve felt just as scared even if I waited to try a year from now. 《Back side coil 架勢》⁡ ⁡ 上次介紹過front side coil了,這次來跟大家分享back side coil要怎麼操作。⁡ ⁡ 動作要點:⁡ ⁡ 1.將頭部置於後腳外側緣上方,後腳為壓縮邊 ⁡ ⁡ 2.視線朝向目標 ⁡ ⁡ 3.軀幹壓縮邊肘關節、後腳膝關節、後腳踝,如武器般指向目標⁡ ⁡ 如圖我們會發現動作類似棒球選手打擊揮棒時的姿勢,重心落於後腳,同時從軀幹朝後腳位置做出大幅度側彎,同時視線朝前,感受脊柱側彎與身體的扭轉。 從側面觀,延伸邊的手肘,壓縮邊的手肘,後側腳膝蓋會置於同一線上。⁡ ⁡ 嘗試在訓練中加入不同的前後腳擺位,能夠創造許多有趣的動作選項,刺激不同肌群,更可以透過全身性、大範圍的運動,來達到優化組織順應性的效果。⁡ ⁡ ⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ Last time, We introduced the front side coil, and this time I'll share how to perform the back side coil.⁡ ⁡ Movement Key Points:⁡ ⁡ Place the head above the outer edge of the back foot, with the back foot as the coiled side.⁡ ⁡ Keep the gaze focused on the target.⁡ ⁡ Align the coiled side of the torso, elbow joint, knee joint of the back foot, and ankle of the back foot, pointing toward the target like a weapon.⁡ ⁡ As shown in the image, you'll notice that the movement resembles the posture of a baseball player swinging a bat. The center of gravity is on the back foot, and there's a significant lateral bend from the torso towards the back foot, while keeping the gaze forward. This helps in feeling the lateral bend of the spine and the twist in the body.⁡ ⁡ From a side view, the long-side elbow aligns with the coiled-side elbow, and the knee of the back leg is placed on the same line.⁡ ⁡ Experimenting with different placements of the front and back foot during training can create various interesting movement options, stimulating different muscle groups. Year four of doing the 1000 kick challenge by @sensei_seth. Everyone who came in today did a list of 25 kicks stemming from Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, Wing Chun, and Capoeira. Best time was 20:05 by @vitamin.eb winning for the second year in a row! Huge props to everyone who participated. Hardly anyone who came in today had done a martial art before so their dedication to finishing was beyond admirable. I am sincerely proud to coach these amazing people.

We are here to share a classic WeckMethod training move—the External Torsion standing posture. In this movement, we significantly stretch the thoracic spine, use the elbows to drive the scapula towards the tailbone, and at the same time, gently squat against the wall. This maximizes the stretch of the spine. Doesn't it resemble a turkey being tied up and placed in the oven? This exercise can strengthen the body's stability in an externally rotated state. It's beneficial for movements requiring an externally rotated position, such as the frog and butterfly swimming strokes, bench press, and more. 《CCT-Coiling Core Training》⁡ ⁡ 將身體壓縮、側彎在一側重心的運動。⁡ ⁡ 那麼什麼是Coiling呢?字面上是捲起、纏繞的意思,描述將軀幹同時側彎、旋轉向一側,身體產生等長扭轉力的動作。⁡ ⁡ 例如單側肩上扛著貨物行走、瑜珈的三角式或是使用步槍射擊時, 都會使用到CCT的模式。⁡ 在學習RMT運動之前,我們也偏好先強化單側扭轉的動作,畢竟RMT就是交替做出CCT的動作。⁡ ⁡ 要想成為一個協調性良好的運動員,知道如何在CCT時創造最理想的張力是十分重要的,⁡ 因此我們可以將CCT的動作提示加入到各種單側的訓練動作中,幫助初學者打通任督二脈。⁡ ⁡ ⁡ ⁡ Coiling Core Training (CCT) involves compressing and side-bending the body with a focus on one-sided weight distribution.⁡ ⁡ But what does "Coiling" mean? Literally, it refers to rolling up or winding, describing the action of simultaneously side-bending and rotating the torso towards one side, generating an equal-length twisting force in the body.⁡ ⁡ Activities such as carrying a load on one shoulder while walking, performing yoga's triangle pose, or shooting with a rifle all engage the CCT pattern.⁡ ⁡ Before diving into Rotation Movement Training (RMT), there is a preference for strengthening one-sided twisting movements.
