Even small actions can make a difference. For example, reducing the sugar in your daily cups of tea from 1 spoon to no sugar at all is a small change, but would reduce your annual sugar intake by around 4.5kg if you drink 3 cups a day! Or doing 10 squats each time you wait for the kettle to boil for those cups of tea equates to 10,950 squats a year. It is important to remember that progress, no matter how small, is still progress. Yesterday I was at Dulux for the first workplace wellness event to see and experience The Feel Good Fix! 📕 Such an honour to be their wellness speaker for the Dulux UK & Ireland Marketing Team Conference. I was thrilled when Nicola reached out to me a few months ago and said she wanted them to embrace exercise snacking as a tool for them in the workplace and beyond. I love doing workplace events, especially coming from a corporate background (as a Global Project Manager) I understand the environment and the juggle, combined with the complexities of hybrid working and the rise in sedentary lifestyles. Historic day! Today some of the Jain community were invited to No.10 Downing Street to the first ever, Mahavir Jayanti Reception. As many of you know, I often share about Jainism. If you don’t know, Jainism is an Indian religion teaching a path to spiritual purity and enlightenment through disciplined nonviolence (ahimsa) to all living creatures. It was a very special moment us all reciting our prayer the Navkar Mantra and the statue of our prophet Lord Mahavir was brought by Jayeshbhai, the priest from our Oshwal community centre temple in Potters Bar. Exercise Snacking is doing doing short bursts of exercise throughout the day. 🔑 1-2 minutes of exercise 3-4 times (or more) throughout the day consistently can make a huge positive impact on muscular strength and mobility, cognition, cardiovascular health, energy, mood andddd break up all the sitting! 💪🦵🙂🧠🙌 🔑 If you are just starting out set a timer/alarm/reminder so that you can make it a part of your routine so that you can be consistent and reap all the benefits ⭐Bonus it can be easier to fit in on busy days or when working or traveling than going to a gym or a scheduled 30+ min workout ⭐ Also great if you don't like to exercise 🙃
