May is a super emotional month for me… 🥹 May 2020 that I almost lost my life🦋 May 2024 I’m training for a 22k Ruck March by hiking as fast as I can with 22lbs up a mountain around the corner from me! 👊 Pic 1: May 2020 🛋️ I lived (and slept) on this couch. I was so weak and in so much pain that I couldn’t make it up the flight of stairs to my bed. I was so grateful for the constant company of my cat Oatmeal and my dog Baxter. 🚿 I only showered once per week (seated) and so exhausted it took me days to recover. 🏨 I was undergoing plasmapheresis treatment- having all of my blood pumped out of my body, my plasma exchanged, and given donor plasma to help treat my neurological autoimmune disease. I was NOT living, I was just surviving… Pic 2: May 2024🦋🙏🤍 🌲 Since last September I have lived in a little cabin by myself, caring for myself. I healed a broken heart and opened it up to love again. I did so many things I never thought I could do all by myself! It’s been so empowering. ✈️ I have taken 14 trips since last May! I have gone to conferences, mini-trips, visited my grandma before she left this Earth, and was able to show up for emergencies in my family’s lives. ✨I officially launched my business empowering others to reach wellness too! This is such an honor. 🐾 I also restarted my pet (and farm) sitting services! I’m so grateful to be working with animals again! 🥾I exercise nearly every single day! I’m no longer in chronic pain. I have energy to be powered through the day. 🌈 All throughout my journey I never lost hope that I would heal COMPLETELY!!! I didn’t know how in the moment, but I knew I wouldn’t be bedridden and in pain forever. I never let a picture of myself be taken in a wheelchair bc I didn’t want that to become my identity. 🫶I know that this deep healing is available to all of us. If you’re struggling reach out and let me help you. Through nutrition and brain retraining I turned my life around. I know you can too!!! #naturegirl #lymedisease #sfn #chronicmigraine #healthiswealth

Concussions can be tricky. They don't always show up on scans, but the effects can be life-changing. Here's why concussions deserve more than a "rest and wait" approach: 🧠 Invisible Injury: Headaches, dizziness, and sensitivity to light can linger for months. 🧠 Not Just for Athletes: Anyone can get a concussion, from a fall to a car accident. 🧠 Symptoms Vary: Recovery isn't one-size-fits-all. Get proper medical evaluation for the best support. With the right team and plan, recovery from concussion is possible. I can’t believe that tomorrow marks May 1st- Lyme Disease Awareness Month! My eighth (or ninth? Who is counting 🤣) celebrating. It’s funny because when you get diagnosed you don’t realize the impact that it will have on your life. My first doctor told me I would be “better in six months.” When those six months came and went I was confused and felt isolated. It was that isolation that caused me to open up about what I was going through- I thought I had a rare case- but I learned I was wrong and that so many were in the same boat. It’s through this diagnosis and journey that I found my life’s passion in helping others and funding research. In 2023 I found something I hadn’t had in a long time and that theme has echoed into 2024- that theme is “hope.” For the first time in the past 8 years, I have hope for my future living with tick borne illness and a quality of life that I didn’t think was possible. If you’re reading this in the thick of your journey- have hope, keep going and don’t give up! Not every day is great and it ebbs and flows- but you can live a full life. Can’t wait to celebrate this month together. Grateful for everyone here. Happy (almost) Lyme Awareness Month! 💚💚💚

Loving these warmer days!! ☀️ One thing I’m thankful for through this journey, is the new perspective it’s given me. And noticing the little things like birds singing, different clouds in the sky, the sound of the breeze in the trees, and the beautiful colors all around. I’ve loved getting into a slow morning routine, and one thing I try to do in the mornings is spend some time outside. It’s good for the soul 😊 #lyme #babesia #healing #lymedisease #lymeawarness #lymediseaseawarness #lymewarriors

See - Lindsey’s husband already had #aids - immunodeficiency Let me stress this again- they are not only mentally ill but in addition to this - mentally retarded with #autism And I repeat- so mentally ill she didn’t already know her husband had aids And they become such bad people during going mentally lll that they then proceed to attack the other dying aids patients And you notice how there’s never an apology or recognition of their behavior at all ? It’s because they are so far gone they think they’ve done nothing wrong- and are immune #ukraine #ukrainian #indigenous #russia #russian #russians #german #germany #azov #europe #war #china #biowarfare #lyme #lymedisease #lymediseaseawareness #italy #india #canada #canadian #weapons #military #warinukraine #covid19 #vets #VA #vet #native

I dropped 17 of the 19 long-haul Covid/hormonal pounds right before I went to the TCM Film Fest. Woohoo!! Did that make me feel like dancing like an “American in Paris” with Leslie Carron and Gene Kelly? Heck yeah!👞👞☂️ Well, okay, I wasn’t exactly dancing. There were so many stairs at the festival and the occasional inoperable escalator. Stairs humble me and remind me to be grateful for every step I am able to walk or dance. There is never a moment taken for granted nowadays. Life slowed me down at every turn when I tried to “rush off” to the next film. There was no “gas in the tank” when I put my foot on the gas pedal. Self-compassion, patience, awareness, and a deep inner listening to the body now surfaces more often than frustrations or fears. Oooof—-all those times I slowed to a crawl on those top stairs. There are days when I feel I am holding my legs up, not the other way around. The brain fog is intense at times. My brain feels drunk as I work hard to have what feels like a “normal” conversation. I am more gentle and compassionate with myself now in social situations. I don’t know what others notice, I only know how it feels on the inside—trying to track, remember, and speak. Sometimes it just feels like such an effort, like a jumbly mush of blankness as I still hope for more lightness, relief, and clarity. I always come back to resting in love—how very important love is at the center of it all. “I am the light, the light I am.” That carried me from one venue and event to the next. It was the wind beneath my wings. I truly feel that being able to smile and love are the most important things in the world—somehow through it all. Through the tears and the rain, there is always the sunshine of love to light the way.🩷🌷🩷 All love, Julie #lymedisease #lymewarrior #neurologicallyme #lymelife #lymediseaseawareness #lyme #chronicillness #wearestrong #tcmff

As stated- a bunch of insane shit simultaneously went down at once The entire family besides myself developed #schizophrenia simultaneously after the Ukraine war started in 2012 - beginning with my father being put out of service As you know- he’s in an abusive relationship with a mentally ill woman that he already tried to leave multiple times And he’s only ever been with women with schizophrenia Once again - this is clearly her using his phone that she keeps from him - texting me pretending to be him Once again/ I’m supposed to believe a multiple Purple Heart is using emojis - and changing the entire way he talks? She has all his messages under iMessage linked to her phone- as in every message you send to him- goes to her phone So all the messages of me trying to get him into treatment for Lyme , bartonella and #aids - have gone to her phone All messages attempting to get him to treat Leila and Neil - for Lyme disease- which is once again aids - have gone to her And once again- Leila started slitting her wrists in 2020 after the Covid virus went around - which is how I knew #covid19 would turn Lyme disease on - in addition to vaccines I’m the only one in the entire family that has not gone mentally ill- and the only one who has been treated for aids Leila is once again an underage child- and when I sent in the report for untreated aids in a child- they once again sent it back Since 2010 I have been on natural herbal treatments for aids - for herpes- and I believe that’s why I’m the only one that wasn’t gone You see the difference in how he texts? The “ read the James bees “ text is the only one sent by him - because as stated- since Covid-19 he’s developed a new personality towards religion Only since covid 19 #ukraine #ukrainian #indigenous #russia #russian #russians #german #germany #azov #europe #EU #UK #war #china #biowarfare #lyme #lymedisease #lymediseaseawareness #canada #canadian #weapons #military #warinukraine #covid19 #vets #VA #vet #native

When dealing with a chronic illness like Lyme disease or fibromyalgia, it’s important to focus on both balancing the immune system and combatting cellular stress. There are three ways you can do this: 1️⃣ Restorative therapies: The foundation for long-term health! These therapies tap into your innate body’s healing powers and include movement, stress reduction, a nourishing diet, herbal therapy, and avoiding toxins. While they require more patience and time, the payoff is huge. 2️⃣ Symptomatic therapies: This type of therapy mainly comes in the form of prescription drugs. I tend to use them sparingly, as they are primarily for acute relief and have a minimal effect on healing the body as a whole. These therapies have their place, but they tend not to address the root cause of cellular dysfunction. 3️⃣ Heroic therapies: Think of Heroic Therapies as what conventional medicine uses for acute (potentially life-threatening) problems, such as surgery for a fractured femur, or a bypass for a blocked coronary. While Heroic Therapies stabilize the situation to allow for recovery, they don’t a play a big role in recovery from a chronic illness like chronic Lyme disease. With all of this in mind, I prioritize restorative therapies as the best approach when it comes to healing the root cause of your cellular dysfunction. While they do require more time and patience, these restorative therapies are what helped me reclaim my health. #RawlsMD #CellularHealth #AgeWell #CellularWellness #HolisticWellbeing #Longevity #HealthyAging #Lymedisease #Fibromyalgia

Hey! For those who follow me or those interested in learning about fun things like Gastroparesis, 🤪 here is an update! It’s been one year since I’ve had my GJ tube removed. I have Gastroparesis and for over two years my liquid nutrition through my feeding tube in my stomach was my main source of nutrition. It’s taken me a long time to gain the courage to share my story and photos like these. I truly hope that I can help others feel empowered to share their stories. It’s not easy being vulnerable especially on social but here I am anyway! What is Gastroparesis? Read the exciting info below… Gastroparesis is a rare yet serious motility disorder that means that those diagnosed have stomachs that are literally paralyzed. Those with gastroparesis can experience any or all of the following symptoms: severe chronic nausea, vomiting, weight loss, weight gain, hair loss, malnutrition, severe abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, extreme fatigue from lack of nutrition, brain fog, dehydration, vitamin deficiencies and much more. OH BOY! Isn’t that exciting! 😬. Even though my Gastroparesis is still plaguing me, it is amazing to no longer have my tube. Never take for granted being able to chew and taste your food! I certainly won’t! I will be posting follow up Feeding Tube info because there is so much I had to learn the hard way. Stay tuned for helpful tips for all Tubies! 🫶🏻 #tubielife #feedingtubeawareness #gastroparesisawareness #feedingtubesupport #feedingtubelife #gastroparesisfighter💚 💚 💚 💚 #lymedisease #lymediseaseawareness #warriornotworrier #autoimmunedisease #mentalhealth #chronicillness #chronicillnessawareness #sjogrenswarrior #healthymindhealthybody #healthandwellnesstips #healthandwellnessjourney #livefortodaynottomorrow #liveforthemoment #warriormindset #strongertogether #lymejourney #spoonie #autoimmunewarrior

Chronic Illness/Disability Support Meetings This is a personal support meeting where you can come and talk to someone who understands and has intimate knowledge of what it is like to live with chronic illnesses and disabilities. This is a space you can come and ask questions about ways to handle different situations, to talk about what you are going through, or just to talk to someone who knows what life is like living with chronic illness/disability but to just have a break to talk about some other than your health. The meetings can include structured or conversational support such as: regular support check-ins to talk about how you are feeling, support for how to deal with situations that have changed because of your chronic illness or disabilities, strategies to navigate the world with chronic illness and disabilities, and peer-support from a knowledgeable listener who understands what it is like to have chronic illnesses and disabilities. This is also a great service for people who have a friend or family member with chronic illness or disability. You can come to learn more about chronic illness/disability in general, ask what it feels like, or to learn what to say when you don’t know what to say. Being a support to someone with chronic illness/disability is important and appreciated. This appointment lasts for 50 minutes and is $20. You can book through email for a time that works best for you (email in link in bio). Image Description: [A green background with pink flowers. On top is a pink paint smudge. Hello! In the last six months there has been a lot of change at Friesen Holistic Wellness and I figured now is a good time to reintroduce myself. 🌼 My name is Laura and I am an Anat Baniel Method® Neuromovement® practitioner and a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. I am also a retired physiotherapist. My family and I moved to Qualicum Beach, BC in 2023 and I now have two locations to see clients at for in person Neuromovement® and nutrition sessions. 🌲 A little about me. I am married to Kyle who takes care of all my website design, as well as does all my video and audio editing for my online movement lesson videos. Together we have four teenagers. We live on a beautiful forest acreage, where I love to garden and grow the food that we eat. We love to hike together as a family or visit the ocean to see what beauty lies there at low tide! Our family is very involved with performing arts, although my role is more supportive to keep everyone moving and mobile for all their on stage activities! 🧠 Both Kyle and I struggled with Chronic Lyme disease for many years. Two of our children were also sick with Lyme disease for some of that time. Three of our family members during that time had also been diagnosed with ADHD. Lyme disease and ADHD led our family to find a Neuromovement® practitioner. Once I was in remission from Lyme, I decided to become a Neuromovement® Practitioner. I left my career as a physiotherapist due to my health struggles but have now found a career that I love even more and that is allowing me to help clients in new ways that I couldn't before. 🍎 Nutrition played a large role in our journey with Lyme disease and so I went back to school to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Nutrition and movement work together to improve brain and nervous system function as well as overall health. I look at health from a whole body holistic perspective and look to help my clients live the best life possible. #Neuromovement #registeredholisticnutritionist #lymedisease #adhd #moveandlearn #holistichealth #holisticnutrition #brainbodyconnection #friesenholisticwellness #Qualicumbeachmovementstudio #Qualicumbeachbc

Taking a walk is difficult… It use to be easy for me to hike, yoga, dance or workout every single day, my active and healthy lifestyle has been taken away from me from an itty bitty tick that has created big challenges. These days, just taking a walk down the road is an undertaking, especially in the sunlight that affects the eye that I lost the vision in, or the fatigue that is constant, or the painful movement of my arms when I walk. Never do I feel sorry for myself, it’s compassion I have practiced through the years that I take advantage of, which is the clear reflection of what I feel from all of your calls, texts, comments and support that I receive from all of you. I took time to grieve the many losses I have had through this disease of Chronic Lyme, so I can stay focused on the fight ahead to recover. I say fight because being heard and believed by doctors is a thing, as is navigating the medical system and tests that tell me that I’m crazy. This week our ingredient spotlight is one with a long history of use here in North America: Prickly Ash! The bark, berries, and root of prickly ash have been used for hundreds of years by Native American tribes as a remedy for colds, coughs, fevers, and toothaches—for good reason! Prickly ash contains a wide variety of active phytochemicals, which give it a wide variety of therapeutic uses. Recent studies show that prickly ash has antimicrobial properties, and prickly ash bark extract has even shown growth inhibition of MRSA! It can also dilate blood vessels and boost circulation, making it a great tool for congested and stagnant systems common in people with chronic inflammation, impeded lymphatic flow, and excessive immune responses. Once called ‘the toothache tree,’ the plant is also useful for pain management such as relieving the lower back pain, muscle pain, and nerve pain common in fibromyalgia, Lyme disease, and other chronic conditions. You can find prickly ash in our Biome Boost, but as always, check with your healthcare practitioner before use if you are taking medications! #VitalPlan #PricklyAsh #herbalmedicine #herbalremedies #cellularhealth #CellularWellness #ChronicInflammation #Fibromyalgia #lymedisease

☔🌷 April showers bring May flowers... and a whole bunch of unexpected guests! Bugs, creepy-crawlies, ticks, and tick bites! 😳 (That escalated quickly!) But hey, no need to panic! With the warm weather luring us outdoors, it's time for a gentle reminder: May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month! 🌿🦟 In North America, Lyme disease is often spread by the bite of a blacklegged tick, also known as a deer tick. These tiny critters can be as stealthy as ninjas, making it tough to spot them until symptoms rear their ugly heads. 😓 Fear not! We've got your back, and your furry friend's too! Lyme Disease isn't a direct result of tick bites, but rather a pesky bacterium called Borrelia burgdorferi that some ticks carry. Those sneaky nymphs are like tiny time bombs, so keeping an eye out is crucial! 🦠🧫 But wait, here's the hero part: our latest blog post, "CBD For Lyme Disease", is here to save the day! 🦸‍♂️💥 From symptoms to solutions, we've got the lowdown on how CBD can be your pup's secret weapon against Lyme disease. While CBD won't turn your pet into a superhero overnight, it's like a trusty sidekick, easing the symptoms of Lyme disease, like the pain of inflammation, joint issues, and even seizures! 😩 So why wait? Head over to our blog for the full scoop and give your furry buddy the superpower they deserve this tick season! 📚🌱 #LymeDiseaseAwareness #TickSeasonTips #lymedisease #tickseason #ticks

Gardens, it turns out, are not among backyard tick hotspots pinpointed in a field study of typical suburban backyards in Guilford from May to July 2022, published February 20 in the journal Environmental Entomology. Leaf-littered woodland with scattered shrubs, on the other hand, is a really bad neighborhood as far as ticks are concerned, according to authors Dr. Megan Linske and Dr. Scott Williams. Another minefield is around stone walls, which triple the density of ticks in their vicinity. Surprisingly, woodpiles do not add to tick numbers. Linske, who led the study, said she suspects the difference stems from the fact that stone walls are relatively permanent, making them virtual condominiums for rodents on which ticks feed, while wood piles are temporary, with few critters using them for shelter. Understanding the ecology of ticks in the backyard is critical because most people catch Lyme disease near human habitation. https://ctexaminer.com/2024/03/25/new-study-pinpoints-where-the-ticks-are-in-connecticut-backyards/ #lyme #borrelia #lymedisease #lymeborreliosisfoundation

Testimony Tuesday💪🏼🙌🏼❤️ @the_jessica_j testimony is my favorite because I have been friends with her before, durning, and after her #lymedisease diagnosis and I have seen first hand what these products can do.🔥💥 She has overcome so many obstacles and I know gut health has been a big part of that. 💖💖 #lymewarrior Here is her story: “Y’all I take my health seriously, and choose to invest in my wellness because I know what it feels like to occupy the couch all day. Because at 27 years old I had to quit working because I was so sick. Because at one point, I had to use a walker or a wheelchair to get around. Because I couldn’t do all the fun things with my nephew. When you’re sick and tired of bein’ sick and tired… you’ll do whatever it takes.

The limbic system is one of the oldest structures in the human brain, depended upon by our ancestors to trigger those instincts that helped them to survive. It is the part of our brain that reacts to our surroundings, so if you are living or working in an environment that may have mold, toxins or chemicals, then your limbic brain is responsible for many of the reactions you can have to these factors. But you do have the capacity to take back control of your limbic system over the environment you are in. It might sound unbelievable at first, especially when you are being impacted by the symptoms caused by these environmental triggers, but you only have to look at the people who have successfully done this! Through brain retraining and nervous system regulation, you can actually begin to reverse these reactions without having to leave your home or workplace right away. You might not know it yet, but you are stronger than these external factors that have impacted you, and Primal Trust can help you find out just how resilient you are 💪 #chronicillnesssupport #nervoussystemregulation #nervoussystemhealing #nervoussystemhealth #selfregulationskills #selfregulation #selfhealers #braintraining #brainretraining #brainrewiring #cfs #pots #moldillness #autoimmunedisease #lymedisease #mcs #mcas #cirs #sibo #digestiveissues

The decline in testosterone production with age, often referred to as andropause or MANopause, brings about a range of symptoms that can harm overall well-being. This decline not only leads to feeling tired, run-down, and suboptimal but also increases the risk of many other chronic diseases, including heart disease. It is important for men to be aware of the symptoms of andropause and to seek medical advice if they experience any significant changes. Early intervention can help mitigate the effects of low testosterone levels and reduce the risk of heart disease. Have you heard of Powassan virus? In the United States, tick-borne encephalitis is caused mainly by Powassan virus, a flavivirus that is antigenically related to West Nile, St. Louis encephalitis, and tick-borne encephalitis viruses. In the United States, there are 2 types of Powassan virus, both linked to human disease: lineage 1, associated with Ixodes cookei or Ixodes marxi ticks, and lineage 2 (sometimes called deer tick virus), associated with Ixodes scapularis ticks (pictured), the same tick that spreads Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, and babesiosis. Lineage 2 Powassan virus infection is more likely than lineage 1 infection because I. cookei ticks rarely bite people. The time an infected tick must be attached to transmit Powassan virus is probably much shorter (15 minutes) than that needed for Lyme disease (24 to 48 hours). Although rare, Powassan virus encephalitis appears to be increasing since 2009. Cases occur in the late spring to mid-fall, when ticks are most active. Visit MerckManuals.com to learn more about Powassan virus. #ticks #powassan #tickseason #encephalitis #deertick #lymedisease

🌟This weeks special spotlight is Lynus the Lyme Disease!🌟 🧐Did you know... Lyme disease is an infection caused by a bacterium🦠 called Borrelia Burgdorferi which is carried inside a tick and gets into a dog or person’s bloodstream🩸 through a tick bite through certain species of ticks. Once in the bloodstream🩸, the bacteria🦠 can travel to different parts of the body and cause problems in specific organs or locations, such as joints, as well as overall illness.🤒 Lyme disease is one of the most common disease that dogs get, typically the symptoms that they can exhibit can be: - Fever🤒 - Loss of appetite - Reduced energy/Lethargy💤 - Lameness/Limping - Joint pain/discomfort😖 - Joint swelling If your pet has been bitten by a tick we strongly recommend getting your pet tested at your local vet for any tick borne disease to ensure your pet is safe, stay tuned for more information❗️👍 Who said education can't be fun!?!🤩 #LynustheLymeDisease #GiantMicrobes #LymeDisease #Lyme #Funfacts #Themoreyouknow #Education #Educationcanbefun #Vetmed #MerrittAnimalHospital

Last month, @katherinerileybell and I travelled to New York City to help film a public service announcement for @projectlyme to spread much needed awareness about children with Lyme disease. Katherine was such a great help with the kids! The PSA will be released soon for Lyme awareness month. Both Pippa @kellydaspit and Rylyn @ryclarkie experienced delays in diagnosis and severe life altering symptoms. We filmed at a beautiful 4 story brownstone residence in Greenwich Village with an amazing crew with @fairshareinc. My hope is that this PSA will encourage other parents to advocate for their child, find a Lyme specialist, and to never give up. We managed to have some fun too shopping and seeing Moulin Rouge.
