A dear friend of mine sent this to me a while back and I really needed this reminder. 💜 Last year I spent most of 2023 being pregnant. During my pregnancy I decided to take a break from pole to focus on my mental & physical health. At the end of 2023 I had my beautiful son and decided that in the new year I would pick my pole journey back up starting in 2024. Little did I know that my grandpa would get into a horrible car accident and end up being bed ridden and would need 24/7 care. I dropped everything and moved myself, my husband, our 5 month old baby, and fur baby into my grandpa’s house to help take care of him. In doing so I had to take another step back from teach/being @thepoleacademy . I’ve been struggling with feeling like I am losing parts of myself in motherhood and now being my grandpa’s full time caregiver. Don’t get me wrong I love being a mother, and I love my grandpa. It’s just been hard trying to find the balance between being a good mother, wife, friend, grandaughter, teacher, and student. @tylerjocrysel and Nova. Another friend of mine that I call my twinn said “it’s not selfish of you to need time for yourself, you owe yourself an hour a day to do whatever you want/need to do”, and she is absolutely right. I am no longer going to wait for everything to be “perfect” or for all the stars to align in order for me to start my pole journey again. “Progress is not linear”.
