Weiter geht unsere Rundtour über PEI. Die Kaffeepause machen wir am "EAST POINT LIGHTHOUSE". Ein historisches Gebäude, das sehr gut erhalten ist, dank eines Vereins, der sich darum kümmert. Eine Dame von diesem Verein sprach uns an, weil ihr unser Auto so gut gefiel. Aber leider ist auch hier noch alles geschlossen. Unser Stellplatz für die Nacht ist dann direkt in der Ortschaft GEORGETOWN. Die Ortschaft ist so weitläufig, dass man hier zwar mitten im Ort aber doch allein steht. Bei einem Spaziergang durch die Ortschaft haben wir bestimmt 3 Menschen gesehen!!! Before we crossed the Tehuantepec a week and a half ago, we enjoyed the sights and activities of Bahia Chahue for almost two weeks. During the one full weekend that we were there, we rented a car and ventured with our friends to Bahia Zipolite for the kids to take surfing lessons at what was once the world's second most dangerous beach. The rip current at Zipolite claimed over 50 lives a year before a hurricane hit the area and shifted the makeup of the bottom. Even now, there are lifeguards on duty and the regulars there, including our surf instructor, are very aware of the swimmers and surfers and quick to spring into action to help anybody that gets dangerously far out into the waves. En effet, dans la plupart des villes, il n’est pas possible de se garer où on le souhaite. Des parkings publics sont dédiés aux vans, souvent proches des sanitaires. Nous n’y passons qu’une nuit afin de visiter la ville, qui a beaucoup de charme avec ces rues en pentes et ces jolies maisons. Dunedin fut la première ville à accueillir un tram en Nouvelle-Zélande, en 1879. Elle a été une des plus riches pendant longtemps grâce aux mines d’or découvertes dans la région ! 🇬🇧 We arrive at night in Dunedin, where we can't find anything better than a city car park to spend the night... Auringonnousuja ja auringonlaskuja, ja tänään laski Pisignanon aurinko minulle viimeistä kertaa, ainakin tämän kertaisen Italian matkani aikana. 28 vuorokautta Romagnan alueella, Cerviassa, pienen pienessä maalaiskylässä Pisignanossa on ollut erikoinen, erilainen, mielenkiintoinen ja mieleenpainuva. Peltoa silmänkantamattomiin ja maantie neljään suuntaan. Ainoa aktiviteetti minulle oli ulkoilu, ruoanlaitto, hiljentyminen ja itsetutkiskelu ja keskustelu Kaikkeuden kanssa. Vasta loppu kuusta aloin ymmärtää että kuinka tarpeeseen kaikki täällä kokemani tuli. Tikkasin maantien kylkeä sauvojen kanssa reippaasti yli 100 km mikä on minulle hyvä alku. Toukokuussa toivon että tahti kiristyy, mutta mennään päivä kerrallaan. Olen positiivisesti yllättynyt tästä Italian puolesta, josta harvemmin olen kenenkään kuullut puhuvan. Varsinkin jos on mahdollista liikkua autolla, 30-50 minuutissa liikkuu kaupunkien ja nähtävyyksien välillä. Apenniinit tunnin ajomatkan päässä. Jne. Ystävällisyys jota olen kohdannut 🙏🙏🙏 huhuh... Olen kiitollinen Airbnb majoittajastani joka omasta tahdostaan kuljetti minua pitkin nähtävyyksiä. Käsittämätöntä kuinka upea ihminen. 🧚🏻 Mutta nyt, Andiamo! Laukut pakattu. Là, embarquement pour l'île d'Islay réputée pour ses whisky 😊 (2) Petit tour de l'île en partant de port Ellen (3 & 4) mais pas sans ma pause déjeuner (5). Direction la croix de Kildalton (6 & 7). Balade vraiment sympa malgré quelles montées courtes mais sévères. Retour et route jusqu'à Port Charlotte en passant par Bowmore (7 & 8). J'ai pris la route A846. Mais pas sûr d'avoir fait le meilleur choix. Des tourbières et tourbières. Des voitures qui roulaient vite aussi. Mais les Écossais doublent généralement sur la voie de droite 👍 Par contre, aujourd'hui, c'était jour de pluie et de vent (> 30 km/h). Camino Day 47 Cacabelos - Trabadelo Today was a hard day, every day is a hard day on the Camino lol To be honest, the first half of today's walk was rolling hills wandering along quiet roads but the last 10km were really HARD on the feet. A constant pound on the concrete paths alongside the highway. There was more murals of octopus's and a humourous km to go sign (zoom in) 😂. Vila Franca for coffee and many colourful homes along the river. Walking through Pereje, a town of 28 people in 2021, today a town of cats. 'Stairway to heaven' where the cemetery is perched on a steep hillside. Trabadelo to finish the day, a friendly laborador that cleans up after you. Los que me conocen saben que me encantan los murales y el arte callejero. Casi siempre que visito una ciudad, busco en dónde están las mejores muestras y, claramente, Berlín no podía ser la excepción. Al igual que en mi visita pasada, dediqué un buen rato a recorrer lo que queda del Muro de Berlín y apreciar los impresionantes murales que adornan este emblemático símbolo de la ciudad. Desde mensajes de esperanza hasta expresiones de libertad, cada obra de arte cuenta una historia poderosa y nos recuerda la importancia de la unidad y la tolerancia. Adicionalmente, a lo largo del muro hay trozos de historia desde su construcción, hasta que fue derrumbado. Y como la vez pasada fue hace casi siete años, pude ver muchos murales nuevos. Paris has been as the kids say 💫 lit 💫 In total transparency, it has also involved a terrible head cold and all of the visitors in the last slide had it at the same time 🤣. Paris has had struggle bus moments. but isn’t that what international travel is for?! Jokes aside, I’ve long loved slow travel and the challenge of it all is part of the allure! Travel looks romantic and poetic, but there’s also the blood, sweat, and tears of missed trains, jet lag, and language barriers. That sounds hard, and it is, but it actually stretches you and makes you overcome fears, and become a way more resourceful and understanding person in the process. Obvi I wouldn’t do it just for the hard days, but oddly they can make destinait so much more glorious. It also makes me 110% more grateful for the comforts of home. Don’t let the highlight reel fool you that this is just eating croissants and drinking wine. Thanks be to God … if life was only easy and comfortable, who would we be? The ACTUAL highlight of this trip was my recent trip to Liseux. It was so peaceful. Photos to come soon!
