Certain individuals actively foster this behavior through manipulative tactics: guilt-tripping, rewards and punishments, exploiting vulnerabilities, playing the victim, and gaslighting. They dismiss those with people-pleasing tendencies through laughter, ridicule, and public spectacle, attributing it to their supposed lack of self-awareness. These tactics compel individuals to prioritize others' needs over their own, perpetuating the cycle. Moreover, emotional blackmail, selective amnesia, comparison and criticism, excessive flattery, and isolation further exacerbate this pressure to conform. Recognizing and confronting these manipulative behaviors is imperative for individuals to reclaim their autonomy, prioritize their well-being, and liberate themselves from the grip of constant people-pleasing. No matter what it feels like inside, the universe sends reminders that you're gonna be alright. It is my sincerest goal to help lift and revitalize my community on a deeply personal level. And although I live and breathe this assignment, sometimes it's helpful to hear the community whisper back "it's working". One of my Zumba peeps came to a class I was subbing last week. She didn't know I would be teaching, I didn't know she'd be there. Upon seeing each other we got excited, and once we realized it would just be the two of us for class, we really let loose! I'm so happy to share part of this journey with you Today, we experienced a Mayan fire ceremony with 2 Mayan elders, who kindly gave permission for some photos and videos . What you can see is some of the preparation, an incredible picture of the fire, and some after-effects . I've never experienced a fire ceremony that touches a fraction of this one. . To see the fire responding as it received the energies and prayers and the elder, then being able to read the messages from the fire was incredible . We received an intensive level of cleansing . It's still happening hours later . Transformation is taking place, and on a personal level, the connection I felt with loved ones passed was so expansive . Don't make the mistake I did when I was trying to sort out my exhaustion.
