Part 1. WHO I AM? I wrote my first song at the age of 13. I have always participated in the Poetry Olympiads at school and have been writing poems since I was 7 years old. This is how I remember myself. At the age of 14, I passed all state exams and graduated in a musical state school in piano class. I remember I was so stressed that for the next 5 years I had a dream that I didn’t pass the exams. Everything was very strict and serious, sometimes it was very difficult to cope with lessons in a regular school and at the same time in a music school. I always wanted to make music and wanted music to become my profession, my life. But at that time I had to make a different choice, which in any case I am very grateful to. At the age of 16, I left my home country, Kazakhstan, and entered the Law University in Odessa. Meinen Hund mitzunehmen bedeutet keine Einschränkung für mich. Dass ich sie zu den meisten Plätze mitnehmen kann, haben wir von Anfang an immer wieder "geübt". Sie war einfach dabei. Und jetzt ist es eine Selbstverständlichkeit für uns beide und unser Umfeld. Für alle anderen Plätze gibt es Lösungen und Trainingsmöglichkeiten oder ich muss da gar nicht unbedingt hin. With seeing some new faces I thought I would introduce myself. Like the name of my blog MAY I Introduce Myself! I’m going to introduce myself. I’m a stay at home mom. I have two sons; one in full toddler mode and the other is patiently waiting to make his big appearance. I have worked/work with children for 12 years. I taught in a childcare center, and as a swim instructor. I have been around all age groups. I do have a heart for children, and it’s been a blessing teaching children new skills and taught some of the coolest kids ever. I love cooking and baking. I love being able to try new recipes with my husband. We have a line up of crock pot recipes that we love making. I want to make casseroles because it seems nice. Baking I have slacked a bit on since some of my pans where in a place I could reach. I am not perfect. You will never get filter pictures. You will never get picture perfect things. Because I don’t want to showcase that my life is perfect by any means. Because I will never perfect, but I will always be imperfectly imperfect. My faith is one of the many things that are important to me. It’s the one thing that has kept me going during times that have been hard. I am a Christian blogger. I have been writing blogs on and off for about 6 years now. I love writing messages that God has placed on my heart. I love being able to shine God’s light, and love. I've always felt free to be who I am, but there was a time when I became the opposite of myself. My world shattered and everything in me became nothing. The fear. The sadness. The empty. To be another being... And for a long time I remained like that. In a dark that seemed to have no end. I had no more strength and it was very, very little, I didn't throw it all away. I didn't see myself. I couldn't see myself and all I had was fear, pain, terror. That wasn't me. Not even. Then I was saved. And again. And again. Again. And I realized that I was still alive. And that cycle of pain and darkness was ending. I didn't need to be that way. I couldn't be like that. I needed to react. And hands pulled me from the bottom of that hole. Those hands reached inside me and took away all the hurt and all the pain. They rekindled the light and heat that we are almost dead inside of me. They were the sparks I needed to rekindle my dormant flame. And the infinite cycle of my journey that seemed to have ended, turned out to be more continuous than before. Then I realized it was just a matter of lesson. My shekel educating and re-educating me. Showing me that everything that is and is, is me. Light, strength, love, compassion, pain, fear, sadness, new beginnings, mistakes and successes. An endless universe of possibilities... now is forever. Hey folks, here is a poem I wrote in January 2020. What a time. Identity and expectations weighed on me. They were on my mind constantly. I was stuck up on how people treat me due to how they perceive me. I still am. I find it so difficult to separate myself from others’ ideas of me - both the good and the bad. Not going to lie, my sense of self is a wonderful, ONGOING project. Poetry is one incredible way I explore my identity, experiences and sense of self. Poetry is my soul whispering in assurance. A few weeks ago, I had my third (and currently final) session for my tattoo. The tattoo is based on the “Who I Am” print by @britchida. The print made me gasp when I first saw it on their Instagram and was what got me to sign up for their Patreon so I could get the print. When I found @haylotattooartist, I said I wanted a tattoo on my inside forearm based on the print, but with even more color. She was on board and got going on it. However, before Haylo started, she warned me that in her experience, people never regret going “too big” on a tattoo, but plenty of people wish their tattoo had been bigger. Taking up the inside of my entire right forearm already felt massive so I just had her start. But as I’ve had the completed tattoo the last few weeks, I understand what she means now. Because the longer I have the tattoo, the more I wish it was bigger. Why? Well... the compliments and awe of people seeing it definitely help. The specialization Haylo has with watercolor tattoos to make it literally look like it was painted on my arm is incredible. But I think the concept of “Who I Am” as a person is becoming more expansive and colorful and so I want my tattoo to be more expansive and colorful to represent that. (So don’t worry... we’ve talked about expanding it into a fuller sleeve once I save up more money.) Haylo and I also talked about the different words that could have labeled the box instead. Like... maybe have the box labeled, “What I wanted” and the piece titled, “What I received.” Or have the box labeled, “The life I planned” and the piece be titled simply, “My life.” Because life is truly proving to be such much more expansive, colorful, and beautiful than I originally thought. So much meaning for me in this tattoo. But moral of the story... I love Brit’s original piece. I love the beautiful work Haylo did and want more of it. And I hope we can all expand out of the boxes of who we are supposed to be and become the most expansive and beautiful version of who we truly are and live the best and most colorful lives possible for ourselves. #Tattoo #WatercolorTattoo #TattooedTherapist #WhoIAm #WhoIWasSupposedToBe
