The Hambleton Hobble. To be honest, we have never heard of The Hambleton Hobble walk until a couple of days ago when we had some guests book who were doing it. You learn something new everyday! The Hambleton Hobble is an alternate to the more we'll known walk, The Lyke Wake Walk. The Hobble was devised in 1983 and is a 51km circular route on The North York Moors. It's origins was to link the four pubs of Osmotherley, Hawnby, Scawton and Silton. If walking is your thing, and want to do a long distance walk, without it being too long of a distance, this one sounds perfect. Or if your a long distance walker, it's another hike to tick off. Plus it allows you to stop off and stay with us to recharge your batteries for the next day! 01439 798277 [email protected] www.eastersidefarm.co.uk #blackhambleton #walking #longdistancewalk #walkingholiday #bedandbreakfast #BandB #farmstay #stayonafarm #northyorkshirebedandbreakfast #minibreak #getaway #holiday #nightaway #wakeupsomewherespecial #yorkshire #northyorkmoors #hawnby #eastersidefarm #countryside #loveyorkshire #exploreyorkshire #countrylife #lovethecountryside #escape #staycation #escapetothecountry #lovewalking #walkingengland #walkingenthusiast #country_features

🤌🏼 If you’re looking for a natural high, leading 42 ramblers in the sunshine along a 6-mile coastal walk from Rock to Polzeath will 100% guarantee it!! 🥾 Or joining @cornishramblingswalks for a ramble will also do it… ☀️ What an absolute belter of a day for a ramble. This particular stretch of the Cornish coast path is a delight to walk at any time of year, but when it’s out of season and sunny, you honestly can’t beat it. 📍 Today we started from Rock and walked along the scenic sand dunes and coastal path towards Brea Beach, Daymer Bay and Polzeath. 🥪 We spent our lunch break at Polzeath where we refuelled before our finally stretch of this glorious @iwalkcornwall route - across St Enodoc golf course (watch for flying balls!!) and towards the most picturesque church, tucked away and overlooking the sea, St Enodoc Church. ❓ Did you know; since its renovation in the 19th century this chapel has found a particular place in the affections of many people, both visitors and residents alike. The former Poet Laureate, Sir John Betjeman was particularly fond of it and he lies buried in the churchyard. 🗺️ After a little exploration of this quirky church we headed back along the coast, and to our starting point of Rock. What👏🏽a👏🏽day👏🏽 🙏🏼 As always, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined me today. I don’t think I will stop smiling for days now. I’m feeling suitably fulfilled and worn out. What a perfect way to spend a Sunday! 📸 Please keep scrolling for a sneak peak into our ramble 🙌🏾 . . . #cornishramblingswalks #cornishramblings #vitaminsea #walkinggroup #visitcornwall #coastline #walking #walkingcornwall #cornwall #cornwallliving #hikebritain #coastalliving #getoutside #ukhikingofficial #walkingengland #hiking #explorecornwall #seascape #cornwalluk #cornwalllifestyle #hikinguk #coastallife #travelgram #ukhiddengems #beautifulcornwall #discovercornwall #roamtheuk #southwestcoastpath #wearetheoutdoors #coastalpathcornwall

Up north this weekend, as my lovely husband is running Manchester Marathon today. He has trained so bloody hard and I know he’ll smash it. Today will be heavily “walking round the city and sitting on the motorway” based, but managed to blow out the cobwebs on a short walk near my parents house yesterday. Despite living down south for the last 15 years, I think this will always feel like home. #WalkUk #WalkingEngland #GetOutdoors #GetOutside #VisitYorkshire #Pennines #WalkingYorkshire #SpringWalk #VisitEngland #Hike #HikingUk #HikingAdventures

The England Coast Path Book 2: The South West Coast River Exe to River Severn by Christopher Goddard “This is the second in a series of four guidebooks. It covers over 650 miles along the south west of England from the River Exe at Exmouth to the River Severn at the Severn Bridge. Tracing the coastlines of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Avon, this spectacular route takes in some of the finest cliff scenery in the world, as well as verdant river estuaries, expansive beaches and a beautiful collection of resorts and harbours.” A helpful book for planning and researching upcoming trips to Devon and Cornwall (&beyond) over a coffee @ Café 1001 Brick Lane #cafe_1001 #theenglandcoastpath #walkingengland #walkingbook #guidebook #outdoorbook #hikingbook #travelbook #getoutdoors #bookstagram#readingtime#readingcommunity#bookcommunity#bookinspiration#whattoread#nonfiction #bookclub#bookclubforone#writerscommunity#writersofinstagram #schoolofworklife#worklife#personaldevelopment#professionaldevelopment#learninganddevelopment #learninglifestyle#writerslife#selfdiscovery #discoveringengland

THE NEW FOREST part 2 13/03/24 Woke up by rain 🌧️ again 🤦🏻‍♂️ but thankfully it didn’t last long at all, got packed up and dragged my tired self a few miles towards the village of #brockenhurst in the middle of #thenewforest it was roughly about 3.5miles from where I camped out, but it felt a lot longer. Once there I sat down for a bit and took it in before carrying on. Walked through a very moss covered and old looking wooded area that was filled with the most amazing #beechtree and #oldoaktree a real mystical feel to this area and I had it all to myself not once encountering another human! I came across a little semi fast flowing stream and that was to deep to walk across and instead of thinking to take my boots off I tried to go round and ended up in knee deep mud 🤦🏻‍♂️ then decided to attempt to cross it after going back on myself ended up with water filled boots 😂 #iswhatitis After that I decided that I was calling it a day after only 7.5miles, found a lovely little dry flat area where I decided to #bivvylife camp out again! Boots off, socks off and back to there stream to hand wash my very muddy trousers to end the day! A very slow paced day, my knees and shoulder started to act up a bit but on a positive my power bank still works after my attempted diy on it back in Winchester 🤷‍♂️ #walking #walkingbritain #ukhiking #hikingadventures #longdistancewalking #outdoors #nationaltrails #swcp #walkandtalk #wildcamping #wildcampinguk #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth #walkingformentalhealth #dealingwithanxiety #walkingengland #ukhikingofficial #newforestpony #areaofoutstandingnaturalbeauty #nationpark #hike #hikeyourownhike #

THE NEW FOREST Part 1 12/03/29 After waking up at 4am (due to rain) and literally sitting in the rain under the confers I decided to head off early towards the new forest. Another wet day and as I approached the bridge to cross the river test I was met with with ⚠️ footpath closed signs and fences. So had to get the train from Redbridge to Southampton then to Totton. In total I waited over 1hr 30mins for what ultimately was a 4min train journey🤦🏻‍♂️ Met Ollie at Redbridge and we spoke, he opened up about a lot that’s going on with him after we spoke about mental health. Arrived at Totton and then proceeded to walk towards Ashurst where I stopped at a lovely little cafe called tuck in and met the owner Claire( pictured ) From there I finally made it to the #newforestnationalpark a stunning area and my second visit to it! Loved being amongst the #newforestponies and the really beautiful wooded areas! A very water logged and boggy area this time of year and was a pain to navigate 😂 but still 🤩 camped out the first night in a patch of woods fenced off from the ponies, a simple bivvy bag straight on the ground camp… despite the weather and dampness I was happy to finally be back in the #newforest #walking #walkingbritain #ukhiking #hikingadventures #longdistancewalking #outdoors #nationaltrails #swcp #walkandtalk #wildcamping #wildcampinguk #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth #walkingformentalhealth #dealingwithanxiety #walkingengland #ukhikingofficial #newforestpony #areaofoutstandingnaturalbeauty #nationpark #hike #hikeyourownhike #iswhatitis

THE ITCHEN WAY 11/3/24 After leaving #winchester I followed the #itchenway to Southampton and averaged around 11+ miles. A beautiful walk along side the river itchen but was very flooded in certain areas but made for an interesting days walk. Eventually ended up in #eastleigh and continued through till I got to a lovely area known as #lordswood where I bivvy camped under some coniferous trees to end a very tiring day, At least this part of the journey was mainly on flat ground 😅 #walking #walkingbritain #ukhiking #hikingadventures #longdistancewalking #outdoors #nationaltrails #swcp #walkandtalk #wildcamping #wildcampinguk #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth #walkingformentalhealth #dealingwithanxiety #englishrivers #riverwalk #walkingengland #ukhikingofficial #itchenwaynavigationpath #riveritchen

WALKING BRITAIN DAY 4 As expected the morning was indeed a very wet one but I didn’t let it get to me to much, if anything I knew I had to pack down and get going rather quickly. Despite still feeling a little low I managed to get everything packed down as best I could, I knew that I was going to have to deal with a damp sleeping bag and tent later that day but I kept my focus on the here and now! After a quick breakfast and a coffee I headed off still on the #southdownsway way with my target being #bignorhill to begin with. On the way I crossed the #riverarun and went through an area known as #slindonestate was in an upbeat mood despite the weather (by this time I had just conceded that it is what it is ) being really wet and still I passed through the national trust area to a beautiful expanse of wooded areas and camped out besides a beautiful #yew to give me some sort of natural shelter, the area I camped was called graffham nature reserve and is maintained beautifully and knowing that camping in such areas isn’t something they want I did my absolute to make sure I treated it with nothing but respect and appreciation! Shoes and socks off to attempt to ground myself a little, being by such a beautiful old tree and such a beautiful magical area, everything was damp and dewy but I didn’t think to much into it and for the first time ever I went live on the gram and had some lovely chats with my favourites, despite the weather and the temperature drop it was by far my favourite day so far on the this trail, the owls kept me company all night long and I think I slept the most hours to date in the tent! Mental health was a lot better as the day progressed and my ability to persevere was getting stronger, I started to feel like I could do if I literally just put one foot in front of the other and continued to practice gratitude for all the beauty my eyes absorbed! #walking #walkingbritain #hiking #ukhikingofficial #ukhiking #walkandtalk #walkwithme #exploremore #adventure #walkingengland #outdoors #naturalbeauty #southdowns #grateful #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mensmentalhealth #dealingwithanxiety #innerstrength #nosuchthingasbadweather

WALKING BRITAIN DAY 2 when i eventually thawed out from the very frosty night/morning I made my way through botolphs towards #chanctonburyring via the #southdownsway which would be my path for the next 60miles.. After dragging and I mean literally dragging myself and all my gear to the top of chanctonbury and sat by @locs_on_location favourite spot I had it wash over me that I had made a massive error with the amount I had, it was pushing 30kgs and was awkward to carry! As I sat there staring into the distance, I felt the anxiety and doubt hit me like a storm, I spoke to a few people who where shock by the fact that I’d carried most of that gear up there to begin with, we exchanged a few kind words and one fella even told me about his experiences with trails etc was nice talking to people, a man carrying a house on his back and a guitar in one hand and a 2 ounce jug of water in the other is most definitely a conversation starter 😂 I was only supposed to sit there for 20mins but it ended up being nearly 2hours, I just couldn’t find the inner strength to want to continue and had to fight all the voices in my head telling me to quit! I’m super thankful for @nicole.paintain she has been a life saver with her words of encouragement and plainly kick up the arse when needed! When I did move on, I mistakenly took the wrong downward path but it turned out to fated as I discovered what a couple of locals would call “magic wood” it was here I decided to call it a day after another disappointing 5miles, head had dropped mode had dropped but I was still trying to find the positives, the area it self now holds a special place in my heart as it was the place I had my first major breakdown and only 2 days in 🤷‍♂️ I cried to the trees and cursed out loud! That night would be a very restless night as I had some big decisions to make about my gear and most importantly my guitar 😔 #walking #walkingbritain #wildcamping #southdowns #southdownsway #wildcampinguk #woodlands #naturalbeauty #outdoors #adventure #walkandtalk #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mensmentalhealth #walkingengland #hiking #ukhiking #throughhike #hikingcommunity #anxiety #innerstrength

WALKING BRITAIN DAY 1 Day 1 was mentally exhausting for many reasons, didn’t actually start the walk till around half 2 in the afternoon.. Made my way to shoreham then from there I followed the north downs link till I reached the outskirts of the village of botolphs where I camped in a little wooded area used as a forest school! A cold and very frosty first night 😂 not going to lie I did start to feel a little overwhelmed from that moment! C A D G W I T H ⛵️ 🎣 Cadgwith (Porthkajwydh) is a beautiful Cornish village and fishing port, which you will find located between Coverack and the most southerly point of Cornwall, the Lizard Peninsula. 🌳 Cadgwith was originally called ‘Porthcaswydh’, becoming ‘Por Cadjwydh’ in Late Cornish, and comes from the Cornish word for ‘a thicket’, literally meaning battle of trees. This is thought to be because the valley was densely wooded. 🐟 Fishing was the main occupation back in the 16th Century and Cadgwith owes its very existence to this trade, mainly pilchard fishing. However, due to the over-fishing of pilchards it had to be stopped. These days you will find brown edible crabs, spider crabs, lobsters, monkfish, and conger eels being regularly landed and sold in the local fishmongers. 🍻 With its tight cluster of thatched cottages along the valley and beautiful shingle beach, it is a popular destination for tourists as well as us local Cornish folk. And should you need to begin or end your walk in the pub, make sure you head to The Cadgwith Inn for a traditional Cornish experience. ☀️ Yesterday’s ramble was a little mizzlier to the last time we rambled around Cadgwith but in my opinion, but are just as beautiful. 🥾 Who is itching to explore this corner of Cornwall? I can’t wait to get back here for more adventures 🥾 . . . #cornishramblings #cornishramblingswalks #vitaminsea #thisprettyengland #visitcornwall #seaswimming #walking #walkingcornwall #cornwall #cornwallliving #hikebritain #coastalliving #cadgwith #ukhikingofficial #walkingengland #hiking #explorecornwall #seascape #cornwalluk #cornwalllifestyle #hikinguk #coastallife #travelgram #ukhiddengems #beautifulcornwall #discovercornwall #roamtheuk #southwestcoastpath #wearetheoutdoors #wildswimming

This is getting out of hand, now there are two symbols for the Viling Way. Between Woodhall Spa and Horncastle, the 6 and half miles of the Spa Trail. Visiting parents for the weekend, borrowing their westie Tammy (Tamnavulin) for a longer walk on a disused railway which also double covers a portion of the Viking Way. There were regular signs for the long distnace walk (second picture, a orange square with a stylised Viking head in black) as well as a stone viking distance marker (third picture). Along the #SpaTrail there are sculptures. @_han_cat and the two westies pass a Viking long boat near Martin Bridge. #JimLoopt #Walking #WalkingEngland #WalkingLincolnshire #VikingWay
