There has been a lot on my mind for the past few months where I have not had the pleasure of posting daily on Instagram. So, without further or due, here's the catch-up. I have stepped back and evaluated what I want to do in my life. I am going back to college to pursue a degree in professional studies. You can read through what it is in the next few slides. I am pursuing a certification in Family Relations, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, and Social Media Marketing, as well as an advanced certification in Health Program Strategies I am staying in Susanville for another year. Sadly, I won't be able to move down to Utah this year due to a feeling I have of needing to stay up here until it's go time to move. I am now working the night shift at a job I love. I love this job. It gives me the opportunity to draw closer to God through Jesus Christ as I read the Book of Mormon and Bible. I am working on getting back to the temple. I am working on saving up and paying debts off. I am saving up to but some recording stuff for a home studio. I am working on setting goals on what I want in my life. There has been a long while since I have lost myself, and with that, I had lost the ability to set goals and work on them. However, we are getting back on track. With all this said, I feel like God is simply telling me he has more for me to do up here and that I need to prepare myself for the next chapter in my life, which is coming pretty soon if I am not preparing for the next chapter in my life NOW. #prepare #bethegood #faithoverfear

Warrior! I’ve been told many times that I’m a warrior this past year. I can’t believe it’s already been a year today since my craniotomy to remove the tumor from my optic nerve! Honestly, it has been one of the hardest years of my life, but it has also been so full of goodness and blessings! I am grateful for all of it! One of the things I’ve learned the most this year is how we really don’t know everything someone is going through! (Especially as I have been sitting at other’s feet listening to them share with me.) Imagine hearing the words “your child has a brain tumor” but that’s not the worst of it. Your child will then be diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Constitutional Mismatch Repair Deficiency Syndrome (CMMRD). CMMRD is a condition that greatly increases their chance of developing tumors in childhood leading to brain cancer, cancers of the blood, endometrial cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, and more. Almost all people with CMMRD syndrome develop cancer, often multiple times, before age 18. There is no cure. This is the reality for 5-year-old Adeline who has been fighting this disease for over three years. She has undergone a craniotomy, other surgeries, biopsies, scans, chemo, and will continue to do so for the rest of her life. But it doesn’t stop there for this Hillsborough, NJ family. Dad Ed was diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer this past October. While his previous treatment and surgery was keeping his cancer at bay, the results at his latest scans showed his tumor is back. He stopped his current chemo and immunotherapy and will be soon starting a trial after the biopsy which requires weekly infusions in Manhattan. Then he will have another craniotomy next month. Mom Christine had to take an unpaid leave from her job (can you imagine being able to work with all of this going on?), she is the fulltime care giver for Ed, Adeline, and baby one year old Scarlett. Our foundation was able to help the Eick family for the past few holidays, as well as cover their mortgage payment for the past 6 months. They now have their mortgage payment as well as an increased health insurance payment, and day to day living expenses. This is why our financial assistance program exists. We have received two more applications just this week and are in the position that we will be having to turn away families without bringing in more donations and funding. How can you help?
