Saviez-vous que le vignoble du Château Couhins-Lurton aurait pu disparaître en 1967 ? 🏰 À cette époque, les propriétaires avaient décidé d’arracher le vignoble de Couhins. Alerté, André Lurton proposa alors de l’affermer afin de le sauver. Les vignes furent ainsi sauvées in extremis, avant d’être rétrocédées en grande partie à l’INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique) quelques années plus tard. En 1972, toujours fermier du vignoble, André Lurton racheta à l’INRA, une belle parcelle de vignes, divisant ainsi ce cru classé de Graves, en deux entités distinctes : Le Château Couhins et le Château Couhins-Lurton. __ Did you know that the Château Couhins-Lurton vineyard could have disappeared in 1967? 🏰 At that time, the owners had decided to uproot the Couhins vineyard. Alerted, André Lurton proposed leasing the vineyard in order to save it. The vines were saved in extremis, and a few years later, a large part of them were sold back to INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique). . Dragon Year wines retrospective (Part 3 of 4)… . 1988 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé de Graves . My third Dragon Year wine was a 36yo claret by Domaine de Chevalier - considered by Parker as one of the top wines of the vintage. The colour was surprisingly youthful - beautiful dark ruby with no bricking at all. Fruit had faded somewhat with scents of violet, blackberry, kirsch, truffles, tobacco, coffee ground and graphite. With more swirling and aeration it released more gamey and ferrous notes but still utterly clean. Tannins was silky and refined showing more elegance than muscle. I’d say this ‘88 had fully resolved and evolved - it’s delightful to drink now but probably no upside to further ageing. Is it weird I don’t remember the last time I had a white Bordeaux? At any rate, this #2015vintage #chateaucarbonnieuxblanc #pessacleognan #grandcruclassedegraves is as good a re-introduction as any. Warm lemony goodness, with something else that’s elegant and aromatic (white flowers, rocks?). On the palate, was struck by the balance - the aromas combining so well with the well-judged acidity and a tingling in the mouth that I eventually recognized as minerality reminiscent of oysters. Mmmm!

Et pour revoir @second_cru et @monthelie_ j'ouvre même cette année 2012 naissance de ma 2ème fille et qui est plutôt une bonne année pour les Pessac-Léognan ce qui ne gâche rien 😁 🏰 Ce @chateaucarbonnieux est un grand cru classé de Graves. Un cru très ancien, déjà exploité au XIIIes., ancienne dépendance du monastère de l'abbaye de Sainte-Croix au XVIIIes. Occupant sur les hauteurs de Léognan une belle croupe de graves garonnaises, son vaste vignoble couvre 92 ha. Anthony Perrin l'a acquis après le grand gel de 1956, replanté, réhabilité et transmis à ses fils Éric et Philibert. 🍇 Cabernet Sauvignon cabernet franc merlot et petit verdot 👀 Une jolie couleur rouge grenat 👃Un nez fruité notamment les fruits noirs mûrs. 👄 C'est dense et tannique. Une belle longueur et franchement l'ensemble est équilibré. So we just brought whatever we thought good with the food. . ‘04 Belle Epoque had very slow bubbles; intense and toasty bouquet of citrus, apple and grilled nuts. Not sure about the dosage but the finish was a tad sweet. It did show its age with low acidity but overall speaking a complex and beautifully matured Champagne. . Some say Ramonet is normally great when not premoxed and so was this ’10 CM Boudriotte - white peach, pear, popcorn and apple tart; rich and layered yellow fruit flavours with honey, lemon and butterscotch. Delicious and long. . ‘12 Georg Müller Riesling had a bright yellow colour; expressive nose of tropical fruits such as pineapple and apricot. Notes of petrol and caramel. The oak was quite present which was rather unusual for a dry Riesling though. . ‘94 Domaine de Chevalier was drinking well despite the weak vintage. Classic wet earth, pencil lead and leather notes that scream “Pessac”. A little thin on palate but overall quite elegant and complex. . ‘10 d’Angerville Champans was approachable already; alluring floral nose of crunchy red and black fruits, wood spices, sous bois and mushroom. Dense but refined texture. Smooth and savoury in the mouth. ▷ La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion, Graves, 2014 🇫🇷 #코렌초하우스 에서 술김에 주문한 와인, #라샤펠드라미시옹오브리옹 입니다. 편의상 줄여서 '라샤펠' 이라고 표현하겠습니다😅 라 샤펠은 '샤또 라 미시옹 오브리옹'의 세컨드 와인입니다. 🍇 품종은 멜롯 45%, 까베르네 소비뇽 24%, 까베르네 프랑 31% 입니다. 🧐 샤또 라 미시옹 오브리옹은 보르도의 거대 포도원 '도멘 클라라스 딜롱(Domaine Clarence Dillion)' 소유의 와이너리입니다. 딜롱 가문은 이 외에도 샤또 오 브리옹, 샤또 라뚜르 오브리옹, 샤또 퀸투스 등을 소유하고 있죠. 클라라스 딜롱은 미국 태생이지만 프랑스 출신인 어머니의 영향으로 프랑스 문화에 관심이 많았고, 르 꼬르동 블루에 먼저 들어가 요리를 배우고 그 후 하버드에 진학하여 금융회사로 진출하게 됩니다. 1933년 그는 샤또 오브리옹을 인수하고, 그 후에도 앞서 말한 포도원을 인수하며 보르도의 큰 손으로 거듭나게 됩니다. 🎖️ 샤또 오브리옹과 인접한 샤또 라 미시옹 오브리옹은 1983년에 딜롱 가문이 인수했으며, RP에게 6회 100점을 부여받고 잰시스 로빈슨 여사에게도 호평을 받은 와이너리입니다. 그라브의 그랑크뤼 클라세 와인으로도 유명하죠. 라 샤펠은 라 미시옹 오브리옹과 같은 빈야드에서 생산되지만, 어린 나무에서 수확된 포도를 사용합니다. 06년도 빈티지부터는 샤또 라 뚜르 오브리옹에서 생산된 포도를 일부 혼합한다고 하네요. 🟤 2014년은 무난한 봄 날씨로 시작했으나 여름 날씨가 좋지 않아 포도 숙성이 많이 늦었다고 합니다. 다행히 9월에는 따뜻한 해와 30도의 온도, 그리고 건조한 날씨 등 좋은 상태가 지속되어 여름의 손해를 어느 정도 극복할 수 있었다고 합니다. 🟣 발효나 숙성에 대한 얘기는 별로 없는데요, 오크 배럴 숙성하였으며, 뉴 오크 비율은 36%라는 정보만 있습니다. 병입 날짜가 2016년 5월 23~26일이라는 것으로 보아, 대략 18개월 정도 숙성하지 않았을까 추측해봅니다. 🍷 미디움 루비에서 가넷으로 색이 빠지며, 어느 정도 숙성이 된 것을 확인할 수 있습니다. 낙엽과 흙, 약간의 철분향이 느껴지고 코코아, 블랙베리, 약간의 야채와 흑연향도 있습니다. 하루 정도 뒀다 시음하니 우유와 감초, 블랙커런트, 라즈베리 등 오히려 닫혀있던 과실향이 좀 더 잘 느껴졌습니다. 🍷 M+ 타닌에 M+ 산도를 지녔고, 바디는 M으로 다른 특성에 비해 가볍게 느껴집니다. 드라이하며, 13.5도를 예상했는데 14도네요. 피니시는 길며 낙엽과 철분 향이 남습니다. 👍 숙성된 보르도 블렌드 품종들의 향이 다채롭게 느껴지는 와인입니다. 지금 먹어도 좋으며, 5~7년까지도 숙성은 가능해 보입니다. 다만 저는 과실향과 숙성향이 동시에 나는 것을 선호하는 편이라 개인적으로 1~2년안에 소비할 것 같습니다. 잘 마셨습니다:) #영또와 #와인커뮤니케이터 #Chaindrinker #영또와_프랑스

The Château Pape Clément Grand Cru Classe de Grave is a real beauty 🍷🏰🍷 We had a fantastic time visiting the Château and learning about its history. 📜 Established over 700 years ago, it is the oldest vineyard in the Bordeaux region. The Château is named for Pope Clement V, who moved the papacy to Avignon. 🍇 The Château had 90 hectares of vineyards, growing cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot, cabernet franc, sémillon, sauvignon blanc, and muscadelle. The wines produced are blends of the different grape varietals. Having tasted the Malartic-Lagraviere Blanc on a couple of occasions recently in Paris I was interested to find this large format bottle of Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere Rouge 2011 in @segalsdallas warehouse on my tour recently. Unfortunately too big to lift and pour (although eminently ready to be opened and enjoyed) I had to leave it behind....😍😂 .
