New 2024 recipe #14 - Crispy Smashed Potato Salad Thanks for the inspo from @itslizmiu who got hers from @potato_utopia Super easy when feeding a crowd, we had twice it was so good!!!! Once where I mixed the sauce through. Very tasty but it did go soggier quicker. The second time I made it I layered in the potato gems and then dolloped the dressing on top and served the rest in a small bowl on the side. This not only looked a little prettier on the table but also kept for longer and allowed people to add as much or as little sauce as they wanted. The cakes deserve a post of their own along with pics of the birthday “boy” and “girl”. . Dad’s choice for his birthday cake was Pineapple Coconut Cake (by @tastesbetterfromscratch ). I didn’t use full amount of coconut extract listed but still enough to taste it in the cake/sponge. Also I thought I bought enough coconut milk but didn’t so instead used half coconut milk and half regular milk. The batter was like velvet when I was making it and it proved itself as well once baked. Tasted amazing with and without frosting. My picky 16 year old nephew couldn’t stop eating this cake. . Sister’s cake choice was a Chocolate Oreo Cake (by @lifeloveandsugar ). I’ve made the chocolate cake before but their cupcake variation. Was fantastic last time I made it and even better as a cake with Oreo frosting. Honestly I don’t think I need to try any other chocolate cake recipe. #jiaozi Let’s celebrate chinese new year ! Et commencer l’année du dragon en bonne compagnie avec de bons amis et de chouettes ravioli fait maison. Pour la pâte à jiaozi : 250g de farine de blé 15g de fécule de mais 1 càc de sel 150g d’eau tiède Pétrir 5 minutes. Il est conseillé de faire reposer la pâte 1h au frais mais personnellement j’ai trouvé plus facile de façonner les ravioli sans trop de repos. Appareil au crevettes : 200g de crevettes décortiquées et deveinées 4 beaux morceaux de champignons noirs (réhydratés 15 minutes dans l’eau puis cuits 10 minutes dans l’eau bouillante) 4 grains de poivre noir de Kampot @laplantationfairspices écrasés au pilon 3 pincées d’ail déshydraté Quelques lamelles d’oignons Sel Étaler la pâte aussi finement que possible. Découper des cercles de 10cm de diamètre.
