First Multi sport race of the year on Sunday with a trip to Mallory park for a 2025 World championship Sprint Duathlon Qualifier. After a Winter of Ups and Downs with my Back, I was so happy to be out there racing against some of the Best age Group Athletes in the country. Had Solid first 5k Run - 18.13 / then a decent Bike although had some Back pain in the final 2 of the 8 laps / last 2.5k Run felt strong to finish it off. We spent part of the weekend supporting the @terronarmsteadfoundation at its celebrity basketball game and 9th annual youth football camp. The foundation supports the community of Cahokia Heights and inspires youth to develop life skills of sportsmanship, character and teamwork. At halftime of the basketball game, the foundation celebrated the hard work and dedication of Xavier Jones, a 4.0 student who walked 6 miles to his graduation when the family vehicle broke down. Terron presented him with an e-bike and a brand new mini-van for his disabled grandfather who has been raising Xavier and his six siblings since his mother passed away. It was a breathtaking moment during the light-hearted, fun-filled game. The football camp drew over 500 kids who were trained in football fundamentals by Terron and his NFL friends including: @t_armstead72 @tuaman @cheetah @trey_smith @therealovercees @marcuswilliams An emphasis was placed on working hard and having fun.
