It’s uncanny the way @michaelmosley_official’s optimistic radio programme chimes with something already going through my mind. Today, “Just One Thing” advocates reading poetry aloud. I am poised to contact The Reader, a reading charity which operates in Calderstones Park near me, to ask if they would consider arranging a cookbook event. After all people read cookbooks. Some food writing is wonderful. Plus biographies of great food figures like Lord Woolton (local famous food person). Perhaps an event could be along the lines of another Radio 4 programme, “With Great Pleasure”. I’ve already a long list of appropriate selections. 🌟 Why can’t I just MOVE ON?! Just because your body no longer has cancer cells, doesn’t mean that you can just click your fingers and get your “old life back”. Although my treatment ended during the pandemic, I still had a long way to go to recover my mental, spiritual and emotional health. I also knew that I faced multiple surgeries, including my mammoth #SGAP flap reconstruction surgery, and found it hard to embrace a life after breast cancer – it was hard to imagine what this would even look like. If this resonates with you, try and focus on #JustOneThing today, however small, to take you towards the life you can lead. John Muir things! @oh.pioneer helped us put together a collaborative poster of a #johnmuir quote. Everyone’s artistic contribution was so fun, and the kids marveled at the poster when it was complete. 🤩 We also printed out the path of Muir’s 1000 mile walk from Indiana to Florida, and our recent one from Tennessee to Florida to compare routes. I think the timing is just so cool of us making it Florida just shortly after reading about his journey to the Gulf coast. Homeschool man! Living is learning and learning is living! 😨 JE PROCRASTINE.. 😨 Certains jours, tout roule : les tâches s’enchaînent et je frôle le #TodoistZero 🎯 avant 17h, me sentant invincible ! Mais parfois, dès le matin, je suis submergée. Au lieu de prioriser, je navigue sur Facebook, LinkedIn ou Insta et la journée disparaît sans grandes avancées. ⌛ Après 8h comme ça, je me sens vidée, sans avoir rien accompli de tangible 😓. Ce yo-yo émotionnel peut même se répéter plusieurs fois par semaine ! 🙊 Les conseils traditionnels ne coupent pas la moutarde quand on est déjà submergé. Il faut une solution qui fonctionne sur-le-champ. 🚑 C'est là que la méthode "Just One Thing" (JOT) de David Parker, de son livre “The More You Do, The Better You Feel”, prend tout son sens. Une méthode simple mais puissante : une action à la fois pour transformer la procrastination en productivité. 💪 **Comment appliquer JOT :** 1. Prenez un stylo et ouvrez votre cahier à une nouvelle page. 📖 2. Notez la date en haut à gauche. 🗓️ 3. Écrivez une tâche que vous repoussez souvent. 🖊️ 4. Concentrez-vous uniquement sur cette tâche, en ignorant toute distraction. 🙉 5. Une fois terminée, barrez-la pour marquer votre progrès. ✅ 6.
