When @mossmoney.coaching (financial advisor) was talking at @independent_coffee_club I was incredibly drawn to her. I felt a sense of accessibility, calm confidence and knowledge. I felt emotionally held while thinking about my finances …First time for everything? She was incredible. @mossmoney.coaching is Marta’s new venture, and I’m very excited to explore her services. I know this is going to be vital for so many people in this community. Myself included. Life is a bit much at the moment. Every so often I want to pull the emergency brake and get off. I’m a coper by nature and there is nothing here that can’t be sorted, but with lots of pressures family wise, a money pit of an old house we are still renovating six years in, two teenagers heading into big exams and a weekly logistics nightmare that would make most people’s eyes bleed, (all my own making I know 🙄) sometimes I just need to scream “Stop!”. When I’m at the point where when I think I’m going to cry messily I just go outside for a bit. And usually everything seems better. By no means fixed, but better. So, I never really liked the original artwork for ‘Headspace’ - I always felt it looked kind of cheap, a bit rushed and poor quality and as it was the first single I ever released as an independent artist, I followed some advice at the time. The concept was kind of cool but I’ve always felt it could have been executed so much better…so I’ve re-designed it! I always loved the original photo (scroll to the end), which was a pretty simple idea - it’s just a photo of me with a geometric pattern projected over my face that ended up creating a really cool effect. I also wanted to keep with the same concept, so I took that original photo and overlayed a galaxy (in the same sort of way as the original artwork) but made it more subtle. Then, I finalised it by styling it in the same way as the artwork for ‘Half Of Me (Pearl)’ as it was released the same year (2020), and I wanted to keep in the same era……and voila! This song is so, SO important to me because it’s one of my most personal and vulnerable songs. It perfectly captures exactly how I felt at a specific point in my life but also truly highlights how mental health can affect all of us at certain points or even throughout a lot of our lives and so I wanted the artwork to do the song some justice!
