Yesterday training 🌎 4 Bloc 20:00 ON / 10:00 OFF - 2 GET UP E50’’ x 24 sets 36kg @strengthshopeurope kettlebells 💣 192 reps / 6912kg total Ok, première fois ayant dépassé le volume du record actuel (6858kg) , les sensations sont bonnes , j’accumule de la fatigue sur les 2 derniers blocs en accusant les phases de 10min de repos qui ont tendances à me faire « sortir » de la séances. Question rythme j'expérimente le très rapide (18'' pour 2 get up) , me laissant plus de repos mais un effort perçu plus important. Et également les phases plus "lente" (30'' pour 2 get up) quand à elle qui rendent l'effort plus facile sur le plan cœur, mais plus coûteux sur le plan musculaire. Quoi qu'il arrive ce record du monde tiens plus du marathon que du sprint, je continue d'expérimenter et ça influencera la charge du jour J ! People often think that great squatting means to go with back squats. However, the research doesn’t hold the same belief. In fact, current research shows us if we want to get really strong in the lower body, then the back squat may not be the best options. A 2009 study states, “. The front squat was as effective as the back squat in terms of overall muscle recruitment, with significantly less compressive forces and extensor moments. The results suggest that front squats may be advantageous compared with back squats for individuals with knee problems such as meniscus tears, and for long-term joint health.” A 2015 studies found, “Compared to the front squat version, back squat exhibited significantly greater trunk lean, with no differences occurring in the knee joint kinematics throughout the movement. Results may suggest that the front squat may be preferred to the back squat for knee extensor development and for preventing possible lumbar injuries during maximum loading.” Then there is the fact that the more single leg we go in our squat training, the higher level of muscle activation and even strength we can build in the lower body. A 2018 study found, “Unilateral squats with the same external load per leg produced greater peak vertical ground reaction forces than bilateral squats, as well as higher barbell velocity, which is associated with strength development and rate of force development, respectively. The authors suggest using unilateral rather than bilateral squats for people with low back pain and those enrolled in rehabilitation programs after ACL ruptures, as unilateral squats are performed with small loads (28 vs. 135 kg) but achieve similar magnitude of muscle activity in the hamstring, calf, hip and abdominal muscles and create less load on the spine.” That is why the DVRT Ultimate Sandbag squats that @precision_movement & @joelgun10 are so effective. I had a remote client recently who likes kettlebell stuff request more kettlebell stuff in their programming. This complex was one of the things I programmed for them. I haven’t personally played around with kettlebells in a while but sometimes I forget how awesome and fun they are. I feel like everyone has their kettlebell phase and then moves on but they really are one of the more useful tools for building general fitness and strength. . HEAVY LEGS SESH • This is fast becoming my favourite session of the week, and that’s saying something, because I do love a Press! 😝 Getting those legs Strong & seeing progress with them just feels so goooood! Especially when you step up to lifting your bodyweight on a single leg 🦾 • Everything I do is for The Pistol Squat. I am training to do a 48kg Pistol Squat, and each time I get one more Rep or go up in weight in a Clean & Squat or Bulgarian, it feels that little bit closer. Legs can take a lot of load, so hit them hard!
