The Good Nurse (2022) Genre : Drama Rating : 8/10 One nurse reports another when she suspects him of killing their patients. Well, as always I went into the movie with zero background knowledge and was very pleasantly surprised. Jessica Chastain was in her element, she nailed her part as the sick nurse, who risks everything for the sake of her patients but the true highlight of the movie was Eddie Redmayne. His portrayal of Nurse Cullen was spot on and he did such an amazing job, especially in the scene where he’s interrogated. Coming to the story, it was awesome and at the same time, it really creeps you out. Like think about it, there are people out there who have the power to actually put an end to your life and then there are entire institutions that only want to save themselves and their reputations rather than preventing further loss of life. The real-life story behind this was crazy and the real Amy Loughren deserves the world for exposing someone who caused so much harm. Coming to the movie, itself, it was a slow-burning kind of drama, where they slowly build up the tension but unfortunately, the ending just wasn’t as great as the movie made it out to be. I get it was based on a true story but it felt very anticlimactic. Other than that, it was amazing to watch. So, if you want another reason to be afraid of your healthcare providers, you should definitely check this one out guys! 🎥 #thegoodnurse #oenfermeirodanoite (2022) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ o mais interessante nesse filme dirigido por Tobias Lindholm e adaptado do livro de Charles Graeber é o foco dado às particularidades dos protagonistas Amy Loughren (Jessica Chastain) e Charlie Cullen (Eddie Redmayne), ambos enfermeiros. só não pense que tudo seja entregue porque definitivamente não é o que acontece - mérito do roteiro associado ao trabalho dos atores. um ensaio sobre a maldade? o mal-estar da civilização de jaleco? a saúde meramente mercantilizada tem em seus hospitais (que são iguais aos manicômios, prisões e escolas) e clínicas o ambiente perfeito para a atuação de sujeitos como Charlie afinal, tudo é tão impessoal e descartável que facilmente pode passar batido. inclusive umas 400 mortes que, segundo tardia investigação, seguiam um mesmo protocolo. o fato de Charlie ser um homem branco está diretamente relacionado ao inacreditável número de vítimas (indefesas) e é indissociável do traço racista que estrutura a sociedade na qual ele está inserido. a trama se passa nos ex-tados unydois damaryk e denuncia (de certo modo) o desamparo de cidadãos e cidadãs negligenciades pelo Estado que deveria zelar por eles. And why are there so many cases of doctors and nurses in healthcare abusing and murdering people? Perfect cast for this morbid movie. Eddie Redmayne who plays Charlie Cullen, gave me chills. His weird demeanour already makes you uncomfortable from the get go. Redmayne won on doing that. Great acting. Jessica Chastain. I mean, she’s always been perfect. Enough said. Love her truly. The movie was 2 hours but gripping enough that it didn’t feel that long. Very tense because we know the low down of the story from the beginning, it’s a case of catching the killer out and getting a confession so Amy (Jessica Chastain) putting herself at risk was honestly admirable. It also didn’t focus on the victims too much and rather the villain and how he was brought down through simple kindness and trust. This was highlighted to respect the victims and to not re-traumatise the families as a certain streaming platform are prone to do. I read up on Lisa Steinberg and it's a horrible case. With the help of an undercover narcotics officer, Logan (Chris Noth) and Greevey (George Dzundza) trace the crime to mob kingpin, Tony Scalisi (Paul Guilfoyle). Stone (Michael Moriarty) and Robinette (Richard Brooks) must then cut a deal with Scalisi to uncover a larger, city scandal. Guest Stars: #PaulGuilfoyle #WilliamHMacy #MikeStarr #RonFoster #MarciaJeanKurtz If they had shown this on television to launch the show, I would've been back the next week for more because this was a great episode. The story involving corruption, public officials and the mob is a compelling and meaty one to kick off the series. The characters were instantly likeable: Dzundza and Noth as two detectives who use brains and brawns to solve the case and they both have a great chemistry together. Michael Moriarty's Ben Stone is the prosecutor who'll pull whatever legal maneuvers he has too to get the perp and Richard Brooks's Robinette is set up as an interesting character in that job will sometimes clash with his sensibilities as an African American. But the real character here: New York. Filming on location and using handhelds gave the show a gritty realism that put us right in the trenches with these guys as they pursue justice in this bustling metropolis. Few shows had that at the time and the film grain that was present in some of the scenes (particularly the exterior ones) only added to feel of it. The sets were amazing, the 27th precinct and offices of the DA were cluttered, chaotic and brimming with life, perfectly complimenting the Big Apple setting.
