Weekly progress pics are great, as we can sometimes be too critical of what we see in the mirror. . With pics you get to review where you started. . Make sure you wear the same outfit, same location, same time of day. . Track your key body part measurements, chest, arms, waist, hips and thighs. If you are competing you might add a few more sites. . Track your scale weight, everyone wants to lose weight, but no one wants to step on the scales 🤦‍♂️ . 5 things I wish I knew at the very start of my fitness journey - Nutrition is key! You’ve deffo heard it before but its true you cannot out train a bad diet! You can put in all the work you want at the gym but your nutrition not being on point will slow your progress. You want to make sure your protein intake is at least 1g per 1lb of body weight. - The focus for your training should be progressive overload! This can be done in a few different ways such as increasing weight, correct form ( mind muscle connection ) in reps, tempo and the biggest one making sure you’re training to true failure. Stick to a training plan that you can consistency build on the same exercises. - Prioritise lifting weights over cardio for fat loss. Weight training if you don’t know already helps you build lean muscle mass. The more lean muscle mass the higher your metabolic rate will be, leading to more calories being burnt throughout the day. So, focusing on weight training can be better than just doing hours of endless cardio for losing fat. - Rest and recovery should never be neglected! Overtraining is a thing & when you train you’re essentially breaking down the muscle fibres but these then need time to repair themselves and then they grow back even stronger. - REMEMBER!! Your progress is never going to be the same as someone else’s! We are all different and we will see results at different rates but just because it appears other people are seeing progress quicker does not mean you’re doing anything wrong. I get it, you want to get strong AND look amazing for the summer sun. It’s okay to have goals that are a little vain because it feels good to look good. But what’s the point of only looking good for summer when you can look great for life? These tips will help you eat well but don’t just implement them for a season, take them on board for every damn day!! 1.Protein!! Base all your meals around a protein source and aim for mimimum 20-30g serving of protein per meal. 2. Volume foods! The foods you can eat more of for less calories, particularly green veggies and salad, fill your plate with these and you won’t be hungry trying to survive on dust and crumbs! 3. Colour! Eat the rainbow, get as many different colours of fruit and veg in as you can and you won’t get bored, the bonus is that many of these will also be high volume low cal foods so go mad and tuck in! If you thought any of these were obvious tips and you still don’t implement them then you may need support more than you realise. Fun times with the Robins and Owls (nursery and reception classes) this week at Lydbrook Primary School. I was asked to go in and deliver a fun PT session for the little ones and boy did we have fun! They were all so excited and energetic, I was exhausted by the end of it! “The rebirth Phase” I have entered rebirth phase at least 3 times within the last 15 months. I’ve been through so much pain, growth and shift. That’s the thing people don’t understand about change. They are so scared to make a change because they don’t know if it will be the right choice. And yet it would be so easy to change once again if you want to go down another route. Sure this rule isn’t applicable in every single scenario. You shouldn’t exactly jump into a relationship for funzies and see what happens. You should be sure about that person and if your life styles and values align. But if you’re doing something like trying to commit to a workout routine, and it feels a little bit overwhelming… instead of committing to 5 days a week you could always drop back to 3 days a week or work out for 45 minutes instead of an hour. The key is to actually find something that you enjoy doing. Because you’re gonna spend a hell of a lot of time doing this thing. Who doesn’t want to live a long and healthy life and be mobile for the entirety of it!? We are all holding ourselves back in one way or another, but being aware is the first step to change. There’s a misconception floating around that the postpartum period only lasts six weeks. 🤷‍♀️ But let’s get real… for many women, that’s just the beginning of a journey that can stretch on for months. The truth is, bringing a new life into the world is a monumental task. It’s physically demanding, emotionally challenging, and utterly transformative. Yet, somehow, we’re expected to bounce back in a mere six weeks? 🤷‍♀️ For countless women, those first few weeks are a whirlwind of sleepless nights, endless nappy changes and navigating the maze of breastfeeding or bottle feeding. But even as the fog of those early days begins to lift, the journey is far from over. Physically, our bodies are still recovering long after the six-week mark. Healing from childbirth, whether it’s a natural delivery or a C-section, takes time. Our bodies need to readjust, muscles need to regain strength, and hormones need to find their balance once again. And let’s not forget about the exhaustion! Then there’s the emotional rollercoaster that comes with motherhood. From the overwhelming love we feel for our little ones to the anxiety that creeps in at every turn, our emotions are all over the place. Add in the pressure to be the perfect mum, and it’s no wonder we sometimes feel like we’re barely keeping our heads above water. But here’s the thing: it’s okay to not feel okay. It’s okay to take longer than six weeks to feel like yourself again. It took me a hell of a lot longer! Especially after my 3rd! Motherhood is messy and complicated and beautiful all at once, and there’s no one-size-fits-all timeline for recovery. So, to all the mamas out there who are still in the thick of it, who are struggling to find their footing in this new role, know that you’re not alone. You’ve got this, mama 🫶

This is a photo of me after my first breathwork class        As I walked back to my brothers house to pick up Opi I was so elated, so calm and super energised at the same time. What an experience!! I was drowning in appreciation for where I am in my life.        45 and feeling so happy that I’ve finally realised that I don’t have to live in hustle mode. It’s only 10 months ago that I’ve started the proper inward journey into myself and that’s come about by learning how to build a personal brand online. I totally didn’t expect this personal development journey as part of this business and am so grateful for it 🙏        So, in the last 10 months I’ve invested in myself more that I have in my whole career in the film industry. Self care is so important and I’m glad I’m embodying more and more and making it a priority         Yeah I loved the fast paced life and the movies but now it’s a new chapter, a much slower one. A life with more abundance in every aspect of my life. Time being the most important, one resource I can’t get back. Time for more self care so I can be the best version of myself for me and for Opi.         Each day as I gain more wisdom, therefore working much smarter meaning more momentum in my business with less hustle         If you’ve been wanting to take more control of your life, you just have to do it. Yes, like anything new it is a bit of a hustle learning the ropes. It’s no different from learning how to drive or do your first pull up.
