Happy World Circus Day! ✨🎯🤸🏻♀️ Fun fact: I got my first bullseye on canes during a film contract last weekend. I only had practice on set and I was pretty much blind, so I'm quite proud. 😆 Circus has taught me resilience, patience and, rather unexpectedly, brought me back into my body and taught me what it means to be embodied. As a very cerebral creature, it’s very surreal to feel that circus- a very physical discipline- chose me (and that’s kind of how it feels like most days). There is a beauty about feeling totally in your body and exploring the limits & constraints that come with it. Through the body as a vehicle, there is unlimited potential for expressing inner worlds. I feel privileged to call circus my life, and it has brought me so many beautiful experiences. As a neurodivergent person, circus also seems to have given me some degree of superpowers: to be able to deal with overwhelming situations (most of the time), make friends and not be afraid to be myself in this world. Some of you know I came into this pretty late (at 27) and I’m 33 now (turning 34 next week!). I am very grateful to have fallen into circus, even if accidentally. Na konci března postoupila žákyně Julie Hinková z třídy C2 do finálového kola celostátní fotografické soutěže PHOTOCONTEST, která je součástí rozsáhlého vzdělávacího projektu PHOTOBASE. Spolu se spolužačkami ze školního projektu vyrazila do Prahy na slavnostní vyhlášení v Novoměstské radnici. Letošního ročníku se zúčastnilo 561 studentů z 80 škol celé České republiky. Z finálového kola byli odbornou porotou vybráni vítězové v každé kategorii. Sice se Julii nepodařilo s fotografií prosadit na místa vítězů, přesto to byl obrovský úspěch neboť jako jediná středoškolačka byla vybrána jako fotografka amatér. Zbytek středoškoláků, kteří do finále postoupili byli žáci s fotografických oborů. Odbornou porotu tvořili významní čeští fotografové Adolf Zika, Ivan Látal, Jan Neubert, Václav Kvičera a Ivan Bárta. #education #photobase #photography #creative #school #oahs #trebic #czech

I did a thing last week… Meet Charlie and Momo- a pair of senior guinea pigs who needed a true retirement home to spend their golden years. These super sweet gents both have intermittent bloody urine caused by bladder stones. Surgery and anesthesia is a pretty high risk for these boys and I learned that there is a high likelihood of reoccurrence as there is not a preventative diet out there for smalls. So our plan is to continue a high quality diet( shout out to @oxbowanimalhealth )veggies lower in calcium and to monitor their quality of life.
