What’s up dudes? Hopefully okay, because I had a rollercoaster of emotions yesterday. I needed to verify visually that we have every in the base via Google sheets and I kinda messed up, which made us stay there for a while plus I hated my self for that. Regardless this workout was amazing to say the least so there’s that :) Starting with the weighted pull ups as you can see I did 2 sets with the 25kg for 8 reps. Unfortunately I had only 6 reps in the next set and another set of 8 with 22.5kg, but I do feel stronger than before. Proceeded with barbell rows with 70kg for 2 sets perhaps it was a bit ego lifted but then again I felt my back working great plus and like the pull ups I could do only 6 in the third set and I finished the last set with 60kg which felt like a joke honestly. Lastly did pull overs for 3 sets ngl kinda forgot the numbers but I think it was 50kg for the first and last set and 54kg in the second set, each set 8 reps. I also tried to keep my hands straight because maybe it has a carry over for FL who knows? Alright, ngl I am WAY more rusty in my pushing side by it is what it is. I forgot my lifting belt in my base so I was very limited with the weight I could put on myself, so I did 4 sets of 8 reps with 22.5kg which felt ok. I proceeded with the handstand push-up which at first seemed like my muscle memory remembered the motion only to realize in the video itself that I have a lot of improvement to do. I managed to do 2 sets of 8 reps which weren’t the best and also 2 sets of 4 where I did I drop set with like push ups. Next goal hopefully is to do on the third set 6 reps. From there I did 4 sets of 12 with 25kg wide Australian pull ups for the rear delt, but honestly it felt quite awkward so if you have an good exercises for the rear delt make sure to comment them down. Generally if you have any tips and suggestions I’m open for everything. Quick Handstand Push Up Tip 👏🏼 1️⃣. In the first photo you see that Coach Jon’s knees are above his hips. While this isn’t wrong this does make your shoulders do the brunt of the work. 2️⃣. In the second photo you can see that Coach Jon tucks his knees below his hips toward his chest. This small tucking motion takes some of the pressure off the shoulders and allows the athlete to use their hamstrings to drive up! No matter what level you are at in your handstand push you can practice this tucking motion by doing some tripod holds against the wall or lowering to a negative! Save this post to remember this tip! And don’t be afraid to ask a coach for a spot the next time you see this skill!

Crossfit Love Ich hab in meinem bisherigen Leben verschiedene Sportarten ausprobiert und mich immer für unsportlich gehalten, da ich auch einfach keine Motivation hatte und mich für nichts lang genug begeistern konnte oder gern hingegangen bin. Bis ich irgendwann bei Crossfit gelandet bin. Anfangs dachte ich "Oje. ICH und Sport mit Gewichten und Ausdauer und dann noch all dir Anderen die das eh alles viel besser können und dann komm ich Pimpf. Scheiß Idee." Aber ich hab mich so wohl gefühlt und alle sind immer super nett und offen. Nie ist auch nur an einem einzigen Tag das Gefühl entstanden nicht gut genug oder weniger wert zu sein (und wer mich gut kennt, weiß dass solche Gefühle hinter meiner Fassade mein alltäglicher Begleiter sind) oder belächelt zu werden weil ich etwas nicht kann oder nicht so viel Gewicht schaff. Für mich steht #Crossfit für viel mehr als nur #Sport, es bedeutet #Community , neue Freunde finden, lachen, gegenseitig unterstützen und pushen, wohl fühlen, über sich hinauswachsen, austauschen und voneinander lernen. Ob ich alles kann? Nein definitiv nicht! Ob das wichtig ist? Definitiv auch nicht! Wichtig ist es mir, meine Ziele nicht aus den Augen zu verlieren und die #Veränderung zum Anfang zu sehen. Es wird immer ein Prozess bleiben und so soll es auch sein. Ich bin immer sehr hart zu mir selbst und selten zufrieden. Auch in dieser Hinsicht hab ich mich ein bisschen weiterentwickelt. Ich kann mittlerweile auch die kleinen Erfolge feiern und es sowohl besser akzeptieren wenn es mal ein schlechter Tag ist, als auch mich freuen wenn es gut läuft. Zu Beginn war es mir unmöglich überhaupt in den #Handstand an die Wand zu kommen, geschweige denn oben zu bleiben. Mittlerweile hab ich meine Kopfblockade überwunden und kann sogar kurze Zeit frei stehen und mit den Handstand Pushups geht's auch voran. Für manche "lächerlich" - für mich einer der Fortschritte. Swipe for drills, scroll for explanations! Handstand push ups are such a great movement for strength, skill, stability and coordination. And to be able to perform them successfully, you need more that just chucking yourself at the wall and hoping for the best. 1. Superman hold - an essential shape which is needed at the top of the push. 2. Headstand hold - get familiar with the bottom position! 3. Heels to wall handstand hold - Replicate the superman position upside down so you know what shape to find at the top. 4. Single leg bunny hops - Work on the kick up so you have success every single time rather than wasting energy on failed kick ups mid workout. This is what worked for Shelby because I knew and understood her strengths and weaknesses. There's a lot more to it than just 4 drills but I hope that helps those of you who are looking to progress and also gives you an insight into why personalised and specialised programming shouldn't be overlooked. Time and time again, I talk to people who have tried group programmes and whilst they may work for some, there's nothing that beats knowing your client and what will work best for them!
