I posted this picture in a story yesterday and had someone reach out and ask if my kids get “treats”. I can assume the question was asked because health and fitness is kind of my thing. The answer is that my kids don’t have restrictions on what they eat just because I am a trainer. In our home we do not label foods as “good” or “bad”. What we do is talk about what different foods do for our bodies. My boys ask me all the time what this or that will do for their bodies. This opens up so many great conversations. And most importantly it is teaching them and allowing them to gain information on how to fuel their bodies. Knowledge is power. Just like I want my boys to have a healthy relationship with exercise I want the same with food. This way of thinking can apply to everyone. Current Rig shots… 80kg on the dot, 8kg down in 8 weeks. Comfortably the best I’ve looked at this weight. Getting yourself into a deficit doesn’t need to be complicated. Getting into a deficit is like flicking a switch for me. -We taper calories down. -Training remains exactly the same. -Keep daily steps high & put cardio in for energy expenditure. Then it’s autopilot mode. The body felt melts off. It doesn’t need to be complicated. 6 WEEK TRANSFORMATION 😍💪🏽✨ One happy client and one very proud coach. 5kg down and we are still chipping away! Mini cut ✂️ 7.1kg down in 6 weeks. Very happy with the improvements made so far. We have pulled off a lot of body fat in a short period of time and that was the target🎯 In a mini cut the goal is get in get out so we can start focus on gaining again so the approach is more aggressive compared to doing a prep where it is more of a gradual rate of loss. 📉 The plan initially is to do an 8-10 week mini cut. I’m currently at 92.9kg and we will see what the look is like at the 90kg mark. This is not a contest prep so we want to make sure we are performing at a high level in the gym. If performance starts dropping then we are doing more damage than good. ❌ The plan of action for the next 4 days is to have a diet break so I’m going to love having more calories. Deload so no training or cardio, steps reduced to 7k steps. The goal of a deload is to wash off fatigue so we can push more. Another busy weekend of racing ticked off for our #TeamPASSA legends 💫⁠ ⁠ 👉🏻 Up in Scotland, Jenny took part in the Carnoustie Half Marathon. After a tough training block she came away with a fantastic result only a few seconds off her PB time. Well done Jenny! ⁠ ⁠ 👉🏻 Em & Mark took to the Mid Cheshire 5km where they both pushed excellent hard effort runs - Em securing her second ever sub 20 5km, and Mark coming in just a few seconds off PB. Well done team 🚀⁠ ⁠ 👉🏻 In Boston, Rowan took to the Half Marathon where she smashed her first race back. WELL DONE ROWAN!⁠ ⁠ 👉🏻 After unfortunately falling unwell just a mere few hours before London Marathon last weekend, Sam was not going to be stopped as he headed to the Phoenix Running Marathon. Despite awful conditions on course, Sam ticked off his first ever marathon and we could not be more proud. Spicy peanut chicken lettuce wraps 🌶️🥬 These have been a favorite my clients have been enjoying on their summer shred down meal plans ~ I put together quick and easy dinners that the whole family can enjoy while keeping them on track with their macros! Save and give it a try this week 🫶🏼 - 1 lbs chicken breast or tenderloins - 1/4 c all natural peanut butter - 2-3 tbsp soy sauce - 1 tbsp chili garlic sauce - 1 tbsp minced garlic - 2 tbsp chopped pickled ginger + 1 of the juice (for the natural sweetness) - 1/4 c chopped onions - 1/4 c chopped mushrooms -1/4 c chopped red bell pepper - 1/4 c peanuts - 1-2 tbsp sriracha to taste* 🌶️ - 1 tbsp lime juice - 1/2 tsp cayenne - Hand full shredded carrots - Handful chopped cilantro - 1 head cabbage / lettuce (Additional protein option is adding 1/2 c shelled Edamame) Directions •cut the chicken into small cubes and sauté in pan on medium heat with 1 tbsp sesame oil until brown •add in veggies and mix until tender •pour in sauces, spices, herbs, and peanut butter, stir and let simmer 5 minutes. -Rinse cabbage or lettuce head and pull layers apart to form cups desired -Spoon out mixture into cups and enjoy! Exercise hasn’t always been a part of my life. Unlike the teenagers that fill the gyms these days , I was a little later to the party . Being diagnosed with Postnatal Depression after my first daughter , I was looking for an outlet , a way to deal with the dark days. It’s amazing how much training creates a mental resilience. Would you believe me if I told you that this client is eating 800 more calories on the right?! I know that’s probably as shocking to you as it was to her. When this client came to me, she was attempting to cut on her own, but she was dealing with a plateau with her physique and strength. She felt like every week she was good but the weekends were where everything fell apart She was wholeheartedly convinced because of her background with fitness as a PT, that nutrition was her only problem. So between these photos we ✅ Gave her a structured training plan that aligns with her goals ✅ Dialed in her form and training intensity (she sends me form videos for almost every workout) ✅ Slowly increased her food to help her put on tissue and improve her metabolism ✅ Taught her how to enjoy her weekends and eat her favorite foods while still being able to see progress. (Meaning no more “restarting” on Mondays) Now she’s up 800 calories and she’s coming in tighter every week.
