I was petrified when I decided to leave my first marketing role. It was a huge step up in my career and I was experiencing imposter syndrome. One morning, while serving my notice period, I discovered a handmade bookmark that had been placed on my keyboard with this quote. I almost cried. I thought nobody in the company saw my true value but the person who left this gift for me did. And who left it there? The only woman in a senior managerial role. She saw that I was not getting the opportunities that I had worked so hard for. I hardly had anything to do with this manager but she touched my heart and soul. Part of the process of making my own deck is to take steps away from the imagery used in the classic RWS deck. One of the main themes I'm changing is that none of the cards in my Major Arcana will contain human or animal characters. However, it's not that easy to move from the human figures represented in the RWS and distill the tone of the card down to it's bare elements. So I've been taking an intermediary step of doing human studies of figures that, to me, embody the feeling of the original card. This study is the link between The Fool and The Seed. Excited to have made it past 72 hours and into 5 FULLLLLLLL days of peaceful regeneration and news stem cells a plenty! I am rounding off day 5 of the 8 day water fast. Still only having black coffee and water, utilising himalayan salt on the tounge twice a day and sugar free electrolyte, plus magnesium tablets to keep the mineral balance inside and outside of the cells happy. The hunger has not been too hard to overcome, because the "why" is so strong. Restore energy. Restore pain free function. Reduce chronic fatigue. And regenerate. It's a massive undertaking but by day 3 (Tuesday this week) I was already experiencing very little brain fog, and the clarity of mind was quite arresting. Energy has not been lacking as much as I had anticipated it may, and certainly no more than what the last couple of years of long covid has presented. I would encourage you to look into this as a way of returning systemic equilibrium to your body, if things have been a little out of balance. Do the research, it is pretty fascinating!
