I’m healthy. That’s an incredibly profound statement for me, knowing just how sick I have been for years. I’ve cured my thyroid disease, Hashimoto’s, after endocrinologists said I’d be on thyroid medication the rest of my life. The journey started more than 5 years ago. I lived a horribly unhealthy lifestyle, never balancing work and home life, eating horribly, sleeping 3-4 hours a night (for starters). After I gained 20 pounds while training for a half marathon, I knew something was terribly wrong! I felt horrible on a daily/hourly basis. It was my epiphany and wake up call. Not only did I have Hashimotos, I developed other auto-immune diseases as well: Celiac’s, Alopecia (see photo where much of my hair has fallen out on one side), and Vitaligo. Then my journey brought me to @courtneyhuntmd. She helped me get to this place today where my body is healthy enough to fight disease. Essentially, she helped me cure myself. It wasn’t easy—she pushed me to do the hard work, change my lifestyle and habits, make healthy choices, with the ultimate goal of good health. There were a lot of pieces to the puzzle. To name a few: watching the sun rise every morning along with appropriate Vit D intake each day, 8 hours of sleep each night, ketosis (as a metabolic state, not a diet), the right nutritional intake, the right kind of exercise, fasting, cold plunge. This is now and will remain my norm. Consistency is key. And now I can say I hit the bullseye. Blood tests show my numbers are in normal ranges. In fact, I was in such shock that I had to go back over the results many times before it finally soaked in. If you’re suffering, don’t give up. You’re not alone. This is a big day! Spermicide is known to mimic the anti aging effects of caloric restriction. Unfortunately as we age levels of spermicide decline. There are a ton of preclinical and clinical studies showing the benefits of this supplement. Preclinical studies show that spermicide may help dissolve amyloid plaques in the brain. Amyloid plaques are associated with diseases such as Alzheimer’s and dementia. Mistakes women make when fasting - part 3: Breaking your fast with carbs. After you’ve fasted, you want to avoid carbs with that first meal because your body is sensitive to insulin at that point and is ready to spike it should it need to. This, btw, is why cereal is the WORST thing you can eat or give your kids to eat in the morning!!! You’re looking for healthy fats. Fiber wouldn’t be bad either. And a bit of protein is ok. So something like avocado and eggs would be ideal. If you want to take it a step further, make it only fats and then have another meal such as the one above. But as long as you stay away from carbs with that first meal, you’re ok. As you go on about your day, that’s when you add veggies, fruits and maybe starchy veggies. Ideally while fasting you’re slowly removing all processed carbs and foods and left with as much whole foods as you can. PS.
