Quick reference image on how to set up a Gunny Sack. You get 3 x bungee cord in the package. Strep 1:You wrap the bungee cord around just above the filling similar to a Sandflail, wrap and twist around the material usually 3-4 times, make sure it’s tight. Step 2: You then do the same again with a second bungee cord either just above that first one or you can overlap them a bit…..this makes sure that the sand ain’t moving when dropped etc. Step 3: Then wrap a bungee cord around the end (opening) again wrap and twist (pulling the material through each time, 3-4 times usually). You can shorten the handle by folding down inside as much as you desire. I have posted a full video on this process which is pinned on this feed. Have fun! What a weekend!!!! Last weekend we ventured into a special Level 1 Mace Instructor Certification. A certification where we celebrated and waved goodbye to the beautiful fitness church of @rob.floris A certification where we had people visiting from all over the world. Canada, Australia, Iran, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Germany, India, Czech Republic, and Spain. Isn’t it incredible how such a simple tool can bring people together like that? 11” Black Multicam Sandflail™️ used by @colleen_adele She uses both the green multicam and black multicam models….but she has eczema on her hands and when she has a flare up she goes to the black camo as the cordura has a tighter weave and feels a bit smoother compared to the standard green multicam. The green multicam has more texture which personally I like for heavier swinging but moderate to light weights I don’t notice much difference. So she uses the black camo when her hands are more sensitive. The two main materials I use after years of prototyping with many different materials. The green camo is my overall favourite, it has great texture for grip (great for swinging heavier) and just feels phenomenal. The black camo material has a tighter weave so is slightly smoother, I always make sure I fold down the Sandflail opening inside an inch or so and put a band around to create a pommel/stopper. The black camo is a less dense material (500d cordura compared to 1000d in the green camo) so has a tiny bit thinner grip. I love both and both are military spec cordura that is actively used in the military for jobs requiring high strength applications. This materials are vastly superior to most material based products in the market. These are all dual layer and the under layer on all is 1000d black cordura that is actively used in the police force for rugged jobs. All material is water resistant and strong as can be. The Sandflail is for dynamic circular training, you can load them up decently heavy but if you want real Heavy swinging and compound movements…..Introducing The Gunny Sack! After spending a lot of time around farms as a kid in Scotland using sacks to move heavy objects it always stuck in my head that it would make a cool training tool. 30 years later I decided to make it. Comes in 3 different sizes and due to the shape they are awesomely awkward when filled up which is what you want in a strength tool of this nature. You can load them lighter and get heavy compound swinging movements, load a bit heavier for scaled down strongman style training or load up to full capacity for full on heavy training. The shape of these are great and differ to a standard strongman sandbag. The longer flatter shape means they fit the body amazingly when rowing or holding against the body for squats, carries etc. I’ve never enjoyed the 3 layers velcro & zipper system of strongman sandbags as I like my tools to be versatile and easily adjustable. I’m all about my kit being as versatile as possible. The closure system I developed is simple and extremely effective, using 3 industrial strength bungee cords and only takes a few minutes to open, adjust weight and close back up for lifting. Made from Military Spec Cordura in 2 layers for extra strength and to give the perfect handle width when used for swinging move. These materials are actively used in the military and police force. All seams are triple stitched using bonded nylon thread (strongest thread for this purpose), bottom seam is extra reinforced. What’s the difference between a standard Sandflail and a Gunny Sack? Well the Gunny sack are much larger so hold more weight at the bottom, they are also longer so give a handle length that excels for some heavier movements. You can also fill them up to become strongman style sandbags. Because they are easily adjustable they are great for everything from Kettlebell/heavy club style swings, scaled down strongman to full on strongman training. The larger Gunny Sack’s become less of a tool for swinging and more for brute strength. Fill them up with rubber mulch/crumb rubber and throw it around, use it as a punch bag.
