📖 QOTD: how long have you spent searching for a unicorn book? AOTD: THREE YEARS. Yup you read that right. It tooo me three years to complete my OG Fairyloot Red Rising set. 🥹 This shelf is basically my holy grail shelf. These are some of my most prized special editions that Fairyloot has ever made. The City of Brass series took me around 2 years (?) to find. I was lucky enough to snag the Shatter Me set when it went on sale, and I’m so lucky that I did. Pictures do not do it justice. Honestly it could be more but I can’t quite remember. The Red Rising set has been my ultimate unicorn and to find it in mint condition after all these years. I honestly teared up a little bit. Putting it on my shelf and having a complete set made everything just click into place. Morning friends! It has been a couple few weeks and I am so glad I got the week off. Minus a couple work meetings, which won’t be a lot. Today it’s gonna be those meetings, some low key exercise, laundry, and reading. What does your week look like? 👾 It’s also been so nice outside lately I can’t help but wish for spring!! 🌕 Happy Wolf Moon! 🌕 . The wolf moon starts the year softly, snow covering the ground and still falling, branches creaking in the cold and wind. It's a quiet night, for the most part, but for the wolves. Their paw prints travel the snow, showing where they've been, the pups playing in the snow. The wolves are howling and the werewolves answer and the moon witch smiles. She shouldn't have favorites but if she did, this would be it. The moon full in the sky, the snow sparkling in the moonlight, and the wolves howling. She lights an extra candle for the werewolves on this night, her kin in the moonlight, for their safety on this most important of full moon runs. And as the wolves howl through the night, she spends this first moon of the year thinking of all the year has to offer and the fresh slate it holds, like the fresh snow under the moonlight just waiting for an imprint to be left behind. . . It's the first full moon of 2024 and I wish we had snow but I'm sure the wolves, wherever they are, are enjoying their moon. . ❓Where do you buy most of your books? I probably get most from Barnes and Noble and Amazon these days. And my manga from Books a Million lol. Now, I read a LOT of indie, so when I see people say to boycott Amazon and not shop there, well….that’s not really possible for me. So many indie authors can only sell on amazon, what with KU rules how they are, or the books aren’t set up to be on other sites. So please don’t ban amazon if you want to support indie authors! There are also other reasons and it’s more complex that easily demanding we all stop buying books at Amazon (international readers, conservative small towns) and quite honestly it’s privileged to expect that from readers. ❓Did you grab any good deals or sales this weekend? I don’t do a lot of black friday shopping to be honest. It’s weird, I have always been in retail, so I’m so used to working on BF, and now that I don’t have to, I REALLY don’t want to leave the house haha But I did go to B&N and got 3 signed books! I love that they do this for Black Friday, although I felt like it was definitely fewer books this year. I just got another bookshelf from IKEA and now I’m trying to figure out what I’m gonna do with all my bookish things - - You’d think adding another shelf would be fun, but it’s honestly more stressful. Wait. Stressful isn’t the word. Books aren’t stressful. Organizing is tedious and I’m not looking forward to switching things around but I was starting to get overwhelmed with the double stacked books.
