Da hat mich der Farbschnitt auch überzeugt, das Buch schon vor Erscheinen bei der Signieraktion bei @buchhandlung.graff vorzubestellen. Wobei man sagen muss, dass Marah Woolf ohnehin zu den Autor:innen gehört, von denen ich mittlerweile alles kaufen und lesen würde. 🫢 Band 1 habe ich auch schon Ende letzten Jahres gelesen und sehr gemocht. Wie immer hält Marah Woolf toughe Protagonisten, eine spannende Story, Plot Twists und - was ich an ihren Büchern besonders liebe - gut ausgearbeitete Nebencharaktere bereit. 🙌

I was literally sitting at my desk at work today just thinking about Jeremy and Mason. Jeremy and Mason’s love story is not an easy one but damn that’s what makes it so POWERFUL! Their love is hard earned and isn’t that the best kind of love?! Their story is shaping up to be even more than I imagined it would be in all the best ways. I’ll just say, I feel like EBA Part 2 has extremely high potential to be my all time favorite Jessie book with the way this is going. JESSIE. HI. HELLO. YOU THERE? Q: How has your week been? • Losing My Breath by J Rose Black Rating: 3/5 ⭐️ Spice: 1/5 🌶️ Review: This story follows Callan who is a veteran and a grumpy next-door neighbor to Meridian who he’s attracted to from the start. Black is a good writer who promised a cute romance story. It’s a very fast-paced story so some of the cute or important scenes were cut short. I liked the setting and seeing two characters hang out at the gym or in their apartments. There were many conflicts in the story to keep it entertaining. I do wish the chapters/scenes laster longer than it did because it didn’t feel very sentimental at times it needed to be. This book is also told from just Callan’s pov but the pov was very hard to understand from the perspective it was written and there was too much inner dialogue going on that it made it sound like Joe from You. Callan is the MMC of the story who deals with PTSD and wants to make sure everyone is safe. I saw a lot of red flags in this guy for some of the ways he would act. I didn’t like how rough he would act or he would often yell. I see he was a veteran but sometimes it was much. Meridian is the main side character and I really which we got her pov. I loved her character and wanted to know more about her. There were some other minor side characters but none that played big roles. The romance was good which has next-door neighbors and the instant love trope. The ending was very fast and so much happens with a good HEA. I did have some minor issues with the book but it was a good, light read. I do wish the pacing was a bit slower but overall not so bad. THOUGHTS First of, I must say I'm not a huge fan of #Frozen, I was once forced to watch the same part of the movie 5 times a day 🤣 (no, I will NOT let it go) . Anyway this book totally changed my mind and made me want to rewatch Frozen and Frozen 2. Also changed my mind about Anna. I've always thought that Anna is less interesting/too naive compared to the glamorous and conflicted Elsa, but now I found her adorable. And those cookies she bakes sound amazing! . Hans is still the worst, even more so than what I remembered. The twist does make more sense with his original intention to rule a kingdom. . The story captures my interest from the beginning with the people from Arendelle not remembering Anna. The pacing is good and the different POVs chosen are great. We got to see a lot more of Elsa's internal turmoils and her uncertainty regarding her powers. At times, the pacing can be a bit slow and felt like there are unrelated side quests popping up. Like having to check an old map or sudden desire to build ice castles. Also sometimes, I prefer reading from a character's POV compared to others 🤣. Olaf's role is also less prominent. . Overall very enjoyable read that managed to stay true to the spirit of the movie/Disney. Hey #booklovers 🩷🥰 Ich hoffe ihr habt ebenso wie ich Feierabend und genießt den Abend 📚💜 ~Kennt ihr Bücher von @bianca_iosivoni ? Mein erstes Buch von ihr war ' Sorry'. Das fand ich ganz gut, war aber nicht ganz meins. Da ich aber den Schreibstil sehr mochte, wollte ich es mit Golden Bay versuchen. Zum Glück. Denn ich mag die Geschichte sehr. Das Setting ist schon so toll und am Liebsten wäre ich auch dort und würde mit der Clique einen Maple Latte trinken und Erdbeeren essen 🥤🍓 How it feels ist der erste Band der Canadians Dreams Reihe um Ember & Holden. Ich habe das Buch gelesen und auch das Hörbuch gehört. Es ist richtig toll eingesprochen von @pia.liest_ 🫶 gefiel mir richtig gut. Aber hier geht es nicht nur cozy entspannt zu. Es gibt viele schwierige Dinge, die in der Vergangenheit liegen und die Protagonisten begleiten. Ember hat mit einem schmerzlichen Verlust zurechtkommen müssen. Gerade als ihre beste Freundin die Insel verlassen musste und ihr Freund Holden sie einfach versetzt hat und verschwunden ist. An diesem Tag brach Embers Herz und ihre ganze Welt. Fünf Jahre später kommt sie zu einer Hochzeit zurück nach Golden Bay. Und auch Holden ist wieder da. Ember hat sich geschworen, ihn nie wieder an sich ranzulassen. Doch die Anziehung und Spannung zwischen beiden ist greifbar, die Emotionen intensiv. Im Verlauf der Geschichte versucht man herauszufinden, was damals geschehen ist. Sowohl bei Ember und auch warum Holden in jener Nacht einfach verschwand. Sie nähern sich schnell an, doch Ember versucht mit aller Kraft sich gegen ihre Gefühle zu wehren. Wenn da nicht ihr verräterischer Körper wäre. Und langsam, ganz langsam gibt sie Holden eine kleine Chance. Es ist emotional, spannend und se*y. Und auch Freundschaft und Familie spielen eine Rolle. Sünde – Megan Campisi Diese Geschichte hat all das, was ich aktuell am Buchmarkt nicht habe, ignoriert und etwas völlig neues altes geschaffen. Die Geschichte selbst spielt in einer fiktiven Welt, welche aber an die Zeit von Queen Elisabeth l. in England erinnert. Wir erfahren direkt zu Beginn von dem „Beruf“ der Sündenesserin. Etwas, was es wohl wirklich gegeben hat, ich hatte davon noch nie gehört. Die dadurch bestraften Frauen nahmen den Versterbenden ihre Sünden ab. Für jede Sünde gab es ein spezielles Gericht, welche dann nach deren Tod verspeist wurde, und der Tode konnte so ohne Sünde in den Himmel aufsteigen. Die Sündenesserin selbst wurde von der Gesellschaft ausgestoßen, durfte keine Familie gründen, niemanden berühren oder gar sprechen. Unsere Protagonistin Anna wird hierzu gezwungen, nachdem sie einige Zeit wegen Diebstahl im Gefängnis war. In ihrem neuen Beruf muss sie sich erst einfinden, was ihr oftmals weniger gut gelingt und sie sogar dagegen rebelliert. Ich mochte Anna als Figur. Sie ist zwar tough, aber auch sehr naiv, wenn das logisch ist. Sie stammt aus armen Verhältnissen, hat nie lesen oder schreiben gelernt, sie lernte nur Wäsche zu waschen. Eine Tätigkeit welches logische Denken nicht unbedingt fördert. Trotzdem bekommt sie Einblicke, welche die politische Zeit von damals komplett wandeln könnte, wenn es jemand erfährt. Aber sie darf nicht reden, darf nicht auffallen. Wie kann sie den Fall ohne Hilfe lösen? Und dieser Fall ist durchaus interessant, vor allem wenn man es mit der historischen Zeit vergleicht und hier etwas in der Geschichte bewandert ist. Allgemein wird die Zeit sehr gut dargestellt, ohne dass diese romantisiert wurde. Denn im Mittelalter leben, oder eher überleben, ist nicht so rosig wie man sich dies erträumt. Auch das Leben am Königinnenhof war kein Zuckerschlecken. Und das Ende empfand ich als perfekt. Es lässt offen, ob es noch weitere Teile gibt, endet aber ohne Cliffhanger und offene Fragen. Wenn es weitergehen sollte, bin ich gern wieder dabei.

Átkozott csókok✨️💋 Közeledik a Halloween, mi pedig ismét ellátogatunk Sírvölgybe. Az Ex Hex 2. részében Gwyn történetét ismerhetjük meg, aki számomra már az előző részben és nagyon szimpatikus volt.😊 Gwyn unokatestvére és édesanyja egy kis időre elutaznak, így egyedül rá marad a Boszorkánykonyha vezetése. Eközben felbukkan Llewellyn ’Wells’ Penhallow, Rhys Penhallow legidősebb bátyja, akit Gwyn ki nem állhat. Wells pedig úgy dönt, hogy ott hagyja kocsmáját és boltot nyit éppen a Boszorkánykonyhával szemben. Kettejük vonzalma erős, de mindketten próbálják tagadni, míg nem elcsattan egy végzetes csók. Majd Gwyn varázsereje gyengülni kezd, ami egyre több rejtélyhez vezet. Nekem sokkal jobban tetszett ez a regény, mint az első rész. Hiii it’s me, finally posting my thoughts on this sequel over 4 months after finishing the book 😅🙈 ✋Beware, this will be slightly spoilery Divine Rivals was one of my favorite reads of last year and will always have a powerful hold on my heart. I couldn’t wait to read Ruthless Vows as soon as it came out…in fact, it’s one of the few sequels I actually started reading right when it released. “The magic still gathers, and the past is gilded; I see the beauty in what has been but only because I have tasted both sorrow and joy in equal measures.” There was a lot more world building in the second book- information about the gods and their histories and a concentrated focus on the war. While I was interested in all of this and eager for the expansion of the conflict, I do feel like the magic of the first book came from the characters and their love story, and that got a bit lost with this shift in the narrative. “I would love to see you burn with splendor. I would love to see your words catch fire with mine.” I also wasn’t quite as enamored with their letters in this one, although there were still many beautiful moments. At points the letters lacked some of the raw vulnerability and personal depth that was so special in DR, and didn’t always convince me that they would be enough cause to re-ignite what Roman and Iris had lost. Regardless, I love these two so much. They have a special place in my heart and I will never stop gushing about them to anyone who will listen 🥰 A great conclusion to the duology, full of emotion and longing, with a lot more action as well. I may not have found this part of the story quite as gripping, but it’s overall chokehold on me has not diminished and I recommend this duology all the time. Ross has a beautiful way with words that completely enchants me ❤️ “Despite our mundane lives, perhaps we make our own magic with words.”

Nessuno ci avrebbe scommesso, neanche i due innamorati. George Knight è un avvocato di successo di 36 anni, ha un rinomato studio che porta il suo cognome da generazioni ed è legato da vincoli di parentela (il fratello è il marito della sorella di Emma) e da profondo affetto da anni con la famiglia Wood. Splitter & Glas – Sara G. Haus Endlich ein Dark Fantasy Roman der auch wirklich Dark ist. 🖤 Die Autorin entführt uns in ein wirklich interessantes Setting. Wir beginnen bei der Abschlusszeremonie für die neusten Papyra. Innerhalb dieser Berufung bist du für die Menschen zuständig. Für die Lebenden, aber vor allem für die Toden. Und das Augenmerk auf diese hat mir hier besonders gefallen. Wie entstehen ruhelose Geister und was kann man dagegen tun, oder dem gar zuvorkommen. Valeries Weg scheint vorbestimmt zu sein, sie selbst möchte aber etwas anderes. So dass sie direkt nach ihrem Abschluss in die Welt hinaus möchte, um Erfahrungen zu sammeln. Hierbei trifft sie auf unterschiedliche Figuren. Gute wie Böse. Aber das zu unterscheiden, fällt nicht immer so leicht. So kann die Gesellschaftskritik, welche in dem Buch Verwendung findet, auch 1:1 auf unsere angewendet werden. Sie lehnt eine bestimmte Gruppe ab, einfach weil ihr Leben lang erklärt, wurde das man diese Personengruppe verabscheuen muss. Ohne dass sie selbst mit diesen Erfahrungen sammeln konnte. Und sie werden abgelehnt, einfach weil sie anderes sind. Kommt euch bekannt vor? Weiterhin besticht der Roman mit einer ganzen Palette an Emotionen, nur die der Lovestory fehlte und wurde keineswegs vermisst. Dafür wäre einfach kein Platz gewesen und hatte sich meiner Meinung nach auch nicht richtig angefühlt. Dafür erleben wir wunderbare Found Family, oder auch das Zusammenstellen einer Truppe welche gar nicht zueinander passt. Ich liebs. Ein paar Kleinigkeiten hätten näher beleuchtet werden können, aber Fragen blieben mir keine offen. Auch wenn ich weitere Bände nicht erwarten kann und mich freue erneut in die Welt eintauchen zu können. Oder zumindest von ihr zu lesen, mir geht’s da dann doch zu brutal zu, um da leben zu wollen.
