Can you guess the difference between the 1st and 2nd picture? . I tried the #corkscrew pose maybe after 6 months and just couldn't do it! So I tried a shortcut and took the arm between the legs for the bind (notice how deep the fold is in the 1st pic?) I was talking to my nephew this morning and I was telling him I prefer calmness and peaceful activities all day long. To which, he said "who wouldn't?" .. Comparison is the thief of joy, especially on your yoga journey. I remember when I used to compare myself to others in class, especially those that were more advanced. It was frustrating and really took away from my practice. But then, I decided to shift my perspective. Instead of comparing, I set an intention to honor my journey and embrace my uniqueness. I began to focus inward, practicing mindfulness and gratitude for my body and its abilities. As I let go of comparison, my practice flourished. 😊 I began to celebrate my progress without comparing it to anyone else's. Every time I hit the mat, I did it with a sense of joy and freedom, knowing that my practice was mine and mine alone. Comparison still tries to sneak in from time to time, but I've learned to recognize it and gently guide my thoughts back to gratitude and self-acceptance.
