Milujem Agathu Christie a už dlhšiu dobu som odhodlaná prečítať všetko, čo napísala. A tak sa ku mne dostali aj tieto Detektívne hry - moje prvé divadelné hry z jej pera. Začína sa to Čiernou kávou, čo je príbeh, ktorý v románovej podobe nevyšiel (teda vyšiel, ale nenapísala ho ona, takže ma nezaujíma). To som nepoznala, takže sa mi to páčilo najviac. Zvyšné dve hry som čítala už v podobe románu - je to A neostal ani jeden a Smrť pri bazéne (hoci tu žiaden bazén nebol a Poirot vlastne tiež nie). Boli upravené, neboli tak detailne prepracované a vo všeobecnosti išlo pre mňa o priemerné čítanie, vďaka čomu som zistila, že táto forma Agathinych diel nie je nič pre mňa. Mais pour Hercule Poirot, le crime ne peut rester impuni et il va donc tenter le tout pour le tout, et tout mettre en œuvre pour arrêter ses dangereux criminels. 📘MON AVIS : Je vais l'avouer sans détour, cette nouvelle enquête d'Hercule Poirot est la meilleure que j'ai lu depuis que j'ai commencé la lecture des œuvres de la Reine du Crime. Dès les premières pages, j'ai été totalement embarqué dans l'histoire digne des plus grandes aventures d'espionnage. Le grand et célèbre Hercule Poirot va utiliser ses fameuses petites cellules grises afin de mettre en déroute une dangereuse association de malfaiteurs. Notre petit détective belge est fidèle à lui-même : arrogant au possible, mais d'une intelligence redoutable. Le rythme du roman est haletant, extrêmement addictif et oppressant au possible. J'ai plusieurs fois retenu mon souffle lors de ma lecture. L'intrigue est remplie de mystère, et même si j'ai trouvé ce roman différent des autres lu précédemment, j'ai retrouvé la plume de l'autrice. 📚34/2024 - Nemezis - Agatha Christie Po śmierci dawnego znajomego Panna Marple zostaje wezwana do prawników, gdzie otrzymuje list od Rafiela. Ten duet mogliśmy już poznać w "Karaibskiej tajemnicy". Ma okazję rozwiązać zagadkę ale nie wiadomo jaka to zagadka. Z treści listu nic konkretnego nie wynika. List nawiązuje jednak do wymierzania sprawiedliwości a przyjaciel zwraca się do Panny Marple imieniem Nemezis czyli bogini zemsty i sprawiedliwości. Jak można rozwiązać sprawę nie mając żadnych wskazówek? Okazuje się, że zmarły przyjaciel wszystko drobiazgowo zaplanował. Wysyła Pannę Marple na wycieczkę objazdową gdzie akcja nabiera tempa a atmosfera zaczyna gęstnieć. Urocza staruszka zostaje też ulokowana na kilka dni u trzech sióstr w Starym Dworze, gdzie dowiaduje się trochę więcej o zbrodni sprzed lat mającej miejsce w tej okolicy. Syn Pana Rafiela został oskarżony o morderstwo i przebywa w więzieniu. Czy słusznie? Bardzo wciągnęła mnie ta zagadka a rozwiązanie zaskoczyło. Panna Marple oczywiście nie zawiodła. To genialnie skonstruowana postać, która chyba nigdy mi się nie znudzi. Przyjemnie śledzi się ten misternie utkany tok myślowy starszej Pani. Kiedy na początku nic nie ma sensu ale końcowo wszystko zostaje uszeregowane w logiczny ciąg zdarzeń jednocześnie nie zdradzając czytelnikowi zbyt wiele za wcześnie a dopiero na sam koniec. Uwielbiam styl pisania Christie. Jest taki klasyczny, zupełnie inny od tego co czyta się w dzisiejszych czasach a jednocześnie bardzo prosty w odbiorze. Książka absolutnie z gatunku cozy crime. Idealna dla wszystkich miłośników gatunku ale też dla osób, które nie lubią brutalnych kryminałów. 🪻Book Review: The Thirteen Problems 🪻 The stories: Across 13 mysterious and seemingly unsolvable case, Miss Marple shows that all the clues in the world can’t beat the understanding of human nature gained from living in the small village of St Mary Mead… My thoughts: I chose one of the alternative books for this month’s #ReadChristie2024 challenge, as I read the selected book, “The Murder at the Vicarage” during the 2021 challenge! “The Thirteen Problems”, an episodic novel that is really a collection of 13 short stories, fulfils the criteria of being published in the 1930s, although the first chapter, “The Tuesday Night Club”, was first published as a short story in 1927 and introduced Miss Marple to the world. Miss Marple is said to be based on Christie’s step-grandmother and her friends, and to have grown from the character of Miss Sheppard in “The Murder of Roger Ackroyd” (published in 1926). The book also introduces us to several characters that recur in the Miss Marple novels, including her nephew, author Raymond West; ex-Commissioner of Scotland Yard, Sir Henry Clithering (whose admiration for Miss Marple’s detective skills provide credibility and support to her in later books); and those lovable neighbours, Dolly and Arthur Bantry. The book itself can be divided into three parts — the first six chapters tell of the Tuesday Night Club, in which six friends and neighbours gather in St Mary Mead, with each relating a story of a mystery they have experienced and challenging the others to deduce the correct solution. The next six chapters follow the same format, this time with six guests at a dinner party held by the Bantry’s repeating the exercise. And in the final chapter (the thirteenth tale), Miss Marple seeks Sir Henry’s help when she fears the wrong man will be arrested for the murder of a local girl in the village of St Mary Mead. This is the perfect introduction to Miss Marple’s world, with unpleasant spouses and greedy heirs that seem to have committed unsolvable crimes, only for Miss Marple to unerringly uncover the solution by applying her own sensible logic and experience of suitable parallels in village life! #AgathaChristie #Marple

L’affaire Protheroe « Quiconque tuerait le colonel Protheroe, déclara le pasteur en brandissant un couteau à découper au-dessus d’une pièce de bœuf des plus coriaces, rendrait au monde un fier service ! » Quelle remarque imprudente et déplacée de la part d’un homme d’étoffe. Cette dernière revient le hanter quelques heures plus tard seulement, lorsque le colonel est retrouvé baignant dans une mare de sang, dans le bureau du presbytère. Néanmoins comme le signale Miss Marple, la victime était si antipathique que les suspects ne manquent pas dans le village paisible de St. Mary Mead. Sous prétexte de jardiner et d’observer les oiseaux à la jumelle, Miss Marple surveille son monde. Elle a presque toujours raison, et c’est pourquoi tout le monde s’en méfie… Le défi #readchristie2024 est pour moi l’occasion de découvrir l’œuvre d’Agatha Christie bien plus largement que de me contenter des enquêtes menées par mon détective préféré, Hercule Poirot. Pour ce nouveau trimestre dédié aux années 1930, la décennie la plus prolifique de la Reine du Crime, je n’ai donc pas hésité à m’inspirer de la sélection officielle @officialagathachristie pour lire « L’affaire Protheroe », le premier des treize romans dans lesquels apparaît Miss Marple. Cette vieille demoiselle aux cheveux blancs et aux manières affables et distinguées est une fine observatrice de la nature humaine. Si elle participe aux commérages peu charitables et bien cruels de St. Mary Mead, ces derniers lui permettent bien souvent de révéler la vérité et c’est encore le cas dans cette intrigue. J’apprécie beaucoup Miss Jane Marple et encore plus l’environnement dans lequel elle développe son talent de détective amatrice mais regrette qu’elle soit un personnage aussi secondaire. J’ai l’impression que c’est toujours le cas, un peu comme mon échec à résoudre une enquête d’Agatha Christie. Jane dinierte zur Tatzeit mit 12 Freunden, gleichzeitig gibt es Zeugen, die sie am Tatort gesehen haben wollen. Hercule Poirot braucht seinen ganzen detektivischen Spürsinn, um dem Komplott der Dreizehn bei Tisch auf die Schliche zu kommen. ———————- Mein Lieblingsermittlerteam war hier wieder am Start. 😍 Ich mag Poirot und Hastings einfach am liebsten, hach, Aber das wisst ihr ja mittlerweile schon. 😄 Die Geschichte ist zu Beginn etwas verworren und selbst Poirot braucht einige Anläufe, um dem Täter auf die Schliche zu kommen. Japp war auch mit von der Partie, was nochmal etwas mehr Humor in die Geschichte bringt. Das Ende war spannend und die Auflösung schlüssig. Mimo powtarzalnych motywów, bliźniaczych elementów i łudząco znajomych schematów, skarbnica pomysłów Christie nadal pozostaje nieprzebrana; nabywa się przeświadczenia o geniuszu autorki - wieloaspektowa kreacja fabuły, postaci, tła obyczajowego i psychologicznego, niemal za każdym razem zyskuje uznanie w oczach czytelnika. Trudno zresztą o inne odczucia, wziąwszy pod uwagę fakt literackiej sprawności Agathy; zwięzła forma wyposażona we wszystkie niezbędnie czynniki, podszyta nienachalną elegancją i urokliwym szykiem, posiada właściwy sobie charakter. Widać to dość dobrze na przykładzie prezentowanych utworów. Ich oczyma śledzimy przebieg wydarzeń; za sprawą podjętych przez nich wysiłków, bierzemy udział w pojedynkach z przebiegłymi złoczyńcami; dzięki ich błyskotliwym przemyśleniom wyciągamy jednoznaczne wnioski. Wbrew pozorom jednak, nie będą to wcale łatwe szarady; w końcu ‘zło rodzi się wszędzie’ 😉, nawet w cieniu słonecznego poranka i pośród rabat soczyście obsypanych kwieciem. And I’m back home and I’m catching up on Sick Sad April 24: Lip Smacker- Favorite trope. My favorite trope is the locked room mystery, the one where a bunch of people are in a secluded place and either one person is murder or all the characters disappear. The classic novel for that is And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. Night Cries was a good one following Christie’s recipe, but with a bunch of student actors on a camp retreat. Slumber Party (Cette nuit-là) features a group of girls on a ski retreat and School for Death (Une rentrée sanglante) is located in a boarding school. Do you like a locked room mystery? Em "Os Treze Problemas", acompanhamos a simpática e antiquada Miss Jane Marple, uma típica senhora inglesa habitante do vilarejo de St. Mary Mead, que apesar de seu aspecto calmo, é uma detetive amadora com um grande conhecimento da Natureza Humana. Apesar da complexidade dos casos, a leitura é agradável e o raciocínio fácil de acompanhar, os personagens são exemplos clássicos da época e Miss Marple possui um senso de humor particularmente britânico. Também acho interessante como essas obras nos apresentam aspectos da época em que foram escritas, como suas visões e preconceitos. Nesse caso, a obra foi publicada em 1932, apresentando uma Grã-Bretanha pré-segunda guerra mundial e ainda arraigada nos valores vitorianos do século anterior. "Os Treze Problemas" é um ótimo exemplo de "cozy mystery", ou "mistério confortável", uma forma de ficção policial sem violência, detetives soturnos ou cidades decadentes, em seu lugar temos detetives amadores, pequenas comunidades e casos pouco escandalosos.
