Service dogs at the theater 🎬🍿🦮 Can service dog go to the movies? Yes! Dizzy has now been to two movies with me in the theater and one play. Often times it can be a little tight fitting the dog in the rows, especially if it’s a bigger service dog. However handlers are able to use the seating accommodations and use the handicap seats on the main floor which offer more room. I personally still choose to sit with my family and Dizzy will often tuck underneath my chair once we both get situated. Saw "the First Omen"6.5/10 BILL NIGHY makes an appearance, love that!The look was incredible! Shot just like a 70s movie. I think it was shot on film, i hope but these days, you cant tell. Really grainy, symmetrical shots, perfectly framed and really well 1 shot long takes. Cinematography A+ 👏 👏 👏 for Aaron Morton! Not many themes to speak on just belief in yourself, belief in something higher than yourself and trying to do good in the face of evil. It was directed and acted very well. Especially the main actress, Nell Tiger Free, she was fantastic! Having said all this, we do hate having to give a bad review to a movie but it just wasnt that good! We repect the process and how hard it is to get and make a movie but putting on our "critic" hat, it just didnt fully work. Hopefully it'll satisfy people who loved the original Omens or get people to watch the original Omens! We repect the hell out of it for NOT using jump scares!!! It did bring up some dread but then it would be too slow and badly paced! It also had some great ideas that just faded away that they definitely could of expanded on more that would of been really interesting. The big reveal DID save it a bit as well as the ending was pretty, pretty wicked but it made no rational sense. Terry Carter was celebrated for his contributions to education, media, acting, and as a civil rights activist. Carter's early work as a newscaster began in 1965 when he joined WBZ-TV in Boston as a weekend anchor-reporter. He made history as one of the first Black television newsmen in the world. He felt he was fired from the station because of his civil rights work, which sparked his lifelong dedication to community work and helping generations of journalists of color. Carter starred in the 1973 Blaxploitation film Brother on the Run and portrayed Pam Grier's boyfriend in Foxy Brown. In the late '70s, Carter also portrayed second-in-command Colonel Tigh on the sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica and Sgt. Joe Broadhurst, McCloud partner, for seven seasons. In 1975, Carter founded Meta/4 Productions, a company dedicated to producing educational documentaries and presentations. Through Meta/4 Productions, Carter created impactful works such as "Katherine Dunham Technique" and "A Duke Named Ellington," the latter earning an Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Informational Special." His dedication to educational content was part of his broader commitment to civil rights and social justice. John Everett DeCoste was born on December 16, 1928, and passed away on April 23, 2024, at 95. His life was dedicated to supporting the Black community with jobs and opportunities. Thus, he left many people in all areas of the industry working to follow in his footsteps, building on his work to enact social change. No doubt one of my more odd #doublefeature features. I finally saw #anatomyofafall and really enjoyed it. In the surface it is a deceptively simple film about a cataclysm relationship and a death that is the product of many years of disharmony and disagreement. At first I was certain I knew what was going on because I read a spoiler in the NYT and then I thought I was certain because of how I interpreted performances ( #sandrahuller is amazing!!), but after sleeping on it I realized there’s a whole smorgasbord of possibilities and interpretations you can arrive at. The bottom line is the TRUTH is never easy to arrive at. This also marks the 10th and final Best Picture nominee that I saw from 2023. I also watched #tropicthunder which I first saw when it was released in 2008. It’s still hilarious and offensive and it definitely could not be made today which makes me sad. None of the things that have drawn controversy are truly hurtful or mean spirited and it is mostly a satirical reflection and ultimately a criticism of Hollywood culture, celebrity, and how exploitive movies can be. #benstiller is a genius filmmaker and if you don’t believe me check out this along with The Cable Guy and Zoolander. I just wish he directed more films. Also, kudos to #robertdowneyjr for taking on a role and doing it brilliantly when he must have known people with stunted imaginations would go after him for it. #atthemovies #cinephile #moviegoer
