I was supposed to be in NYC running the Brooklyn Half on Saturday and running in Central Park this morning. Texas weather said hell naw! lol. Traveled for work this week and couldn’t fly back to Houston on Thursday evening because of the crazy storm. My flight back to Houston was canceled and which meant I couldn’t catch my flight to NYC. I’m glad I purchased the race insurance! United Airlines quickly refunded my airfare and Marriott canceled my reservation without penalty. Thankful that all my friends and family are safe. My daughter has power but her internet service is still down. My granddaughters said to her, “Let’s go to grandma Erika’s house! I think she has internet.” 😂😂😂😂. A few moments from my weekend. Short personal story: When I moved to Houston 10 years ago now, when I didn’t know nobody, I used to work at a project close by Axelrad. I drove several times and saw hammocks 😍 and decided to stop by the next Friday and relax by myself. I felt at home 🥰 They had Latin music 🎶 concert, met new people, ate 🍕 and drank my very first 🍺 here. I made this place, a little home, where there was always something going on, this was THE PLACE where this immigrant looking for herself away from home 🇻🇪 Was just one more like a local person and started really to enjoy things I like 💘 . .
