I have little to no energy to do things, sleep a lot, feel sad or down, being overwhelmed by the smallest things and my brain is in overdrive at one moment and completely empty at the next. Let's just say there is no balance. Over the years I learned so much about how to deal with this kind of situations but nothing seems to help. That's why I'm taking some time off to rest and find myself again. I'm happy that I'm not doing this alone, getting help from my personal coach and family! ๐ฉท That means I will not be posting here for a while. But ofcourse I will be back! I want to try some new things when I'm full energy again. ๐ DAYS OF THE WEEK ๐ Itโs dark and rainy outside this morning, so we thought that we would make the most of the darkness by getting the light table out for some sensory learning.. I placed the light table under his Tuff spot and sprinkled on some coloured glittery pasta stars that we had saved from last years Christmas play.. I then placed the days of the week leaves down, along with some more leaves that I had written letters on.. William is still having some difficulties with his letter recognition, so although this may sound simple to some, he had to work hard at this.. We talked about how each day of the week ended in โdayโ .. then William found all the letters to spell out each day using his tweezers to pick them up.. After he had completed each day, he then had some letter formation practice writing in the sensory base, before running through his fingers and enjoying the feel.. Being neurodivergent and having learning difficulties, adding the sensory element to his learning really helps him become less frustrated, and calmer.. Eating Disorders often (though not all the time) begins with dieting and/or over-exercising, but there are many other things that can increase someone risk of developing an eating disorder. Such as: * ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝFamily factors - like a family history of eating disorders * ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝIndividual factors - such as low self-esteem, wanting to do things perfectly all the time, having an unrealistic perception of what their body looks like or should look like * ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝOutside factors - like the influence of the media and social pressures to look a certain way * ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝLife factors - certain stressors like exams, work, relationships and feeling overwhelmed. If you are concerned about yourself or someone you know developing an eating disorder it is important to reach out and ask for help.
