SACRIFICE ✨ comp prep with a family was uncharted territory for me, I was so scared. Bodybuilding is such a selfish sport, it requires everything and so does having a young family. With the space, love and unquestionable support from my husband we grew as a family. We helped each other, making sure everyone’s needs had been met. Was it always easy? THE JOURNEY ✨ There is 7 years between these photos…7! 2017 I swore I’d never compete again. I didn’t reverse out and then life happened. 2024 this time with a husband and 3yo I applied all the lessons I’d learnt back then. Controlling my emotions, surrendering to the process and enjoying the small things. After all this time I had a family to consider. This prep was smooth, like butter. Due to many reason but mainly I think because I was in a happy, loved and supported space. But mostly because of my mentality. Just because you didn’t get the result, you wanted doesn’t mean you didn’t absolutely kill that stage. This sport is a tough one. The lineup can be unknown. The judges can have their own thoughts. It doesn’t help us mentally but just know that you have worked your arse off and you have already won just getting to that stage. If it was easy, everyone would do it. It is one of the hardest sports mentally and physically and just stepping foot on that stage you should be so proud and honored. TODAY’S RESULTS @icn_victoria Classic Physique Novice 4th (out of 12) Classic Physique Opens 🥉 (out of 5) Men’s Fitness Opens 🥉 (out of 11) Drastic improvements in both condition & posing in the short span of 6 months from his first show and it was a HUGE WIN for my athlete @bayley.whyte today!!! Big thank you to everyone who showed their support in person & online! I’m sure he was very touched by it ☝️ Getting 5th TWICE in the previous show put a tremendous pressure on us the whole time to deliver a better package and not place anything less than that. Yes it was tough & I was pretty harsh on him diet/cardio wise nonetheless BUT it was worth every bit of emotion today once we got what we came for going against so many older and more experienced competitors 🫨 MISSION ACCOMPLISHED BRO!!! ‘At first you will fail at some point in your life, accept it! You will lose, you will embarrass yourself and you will suck at something. If you do not fail, your not even trying.’ - Denzel Washington I haven’t rewritten a post like this for over 12 months but this picture reminded me of where I was 2 years ago and the goal I had. I’m kinda proud looking back at this and it has fuelled the fire to charge forward knowing what what I had achieved and I had to face back then vs now. This was taken the 13th of September 2021, I was 12 weeks out from competition. This competition had been pushed back twice due to the covid lock down being extended in Melbourne. Also on top of that I had lost my job and was in a toxic relationship. But I determined to still keep going and compete. Unfortunately due to mental health a few weeks out from the show I decided to pull out and compete the following year. I failed to complete the goal I set but I was trying. The following year with that same goal under better circumstances I set out to compete. With everything on track I got to 6 weeks out from competition. But unfortunately the 14th of August 2022 I was bitten by a dog and ended up in hospital with a serious infection. I had 2 surgeries and a long road of recovery a head of me. I was unable to compete due to injury. I needed to rest and recover. I had failed to compete the goal I had set but I was still trying. I looking back I remembered I what created during the toughest challenges I faced and failing multiple times but I never gave up trying!Remembering my strength and determination I had to keep pushing through. That same goal still remains the same but yet to set a new due date. I’m now working towards becoming a Muscle Mumma and influencing my son.
