It is easy to only think of our calories on a daily basis and work towards our set figure. But sometimes we may eat or drink over our daily target, even if it is only a small amount..... this can cause us to give up for the rest of that week. Try something different and look at the bigger picture.... Think of your total calories over the whole week period instead of daily. We don’t need to be in a calorie deficit every day to be in a calorie deficit overall. You can still be over your daily goal for a couple of days and still be in an overall deficit on average for the week. For example, your daily calories to lose weight is say 1800. Then your weekly total is 12,600. So long as the daily average for the week stays around 1800 and your total is 12,600 each week you will stay on track. Try and work within a sensible calorie deficit range during the week. By keeping it less rigid it means we don't worry as much about a meal taking us 50 calories over in a day. You need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight......But you don’t need to be in a deficit every single day if your average daily calories are still meeting your weekly calorie deficit. A successful week takes some planning. 📝 . It's easy to let our "busy" lives get in the way of supporting our health in a positive way. . Mostly due to lack of thinking ahead. . But I do believe being too rigid with how you plan can cause more stress. 🤯 . As the summer months approach, I think it's important to really consider being more flexible with your planning. . Some Sundays you're going to have a free day where you can do everything you want to do and then there's going to be days where you want to go out and enjoy the weather and spend time with family and friends. 🌞😎 . So when it comes to planning you almost have to plan to plan. 🤔 . Being more flexible with your schedule is going to ensure you're consistent and that you follow through. . This relates to workouts, stress management, social time, etc. Harmony in life is important. 🎶 . There may be times where you can't do your scheduled workout, but you have to be flexible in your thought process to schedule it later that day or the next day. . When we get too rigid with our planning we end up just not doing it. 🙇 . Life is not that cut and dry. There's so many things, especially as adults, that takes us by surprise and there's nothing we can do about it. . Letting go of this idea of perfection and rigidity is very important when it comes to being consistent and creating a lifestyle that you can enjoy! 🫶

As mom’s, so many of us carry the mantra of being willing to die for our families. Moms put themselves and their needs behind everyone else. We stand to the side, selectively miss out on opportunities, and minimize our own health. We feel guilty or selfish when we take care of ourselves, instill healthy habits and make time to make our bodies strong. Our children, partners, family and friends watch, observe, and learn from how we show up for ourselves. When we prioritize our health and strength, those around us begin to do the same. We need to flip the idea of being willing to die for our families to being willing to live with them! We need to show up for ourselves. We need to push aside the mom guilt. We need to set ourselves up to live, thrive and PARTICIPATE FULLY IN EVERYONE’S LIVES!

Happy Sunday! All set for a new week? Today I've been reflecting on why I started this business.... One of my new clients is very much a beginner in the gym. She has an active background in team sports, but is fairly new to alot of the movements and equipment in the gym space. In just a few weeks, she has already shown improvements in her mobility and stability. Things are starting to really "click" for her. As well as her cardiovascular endurance, we are working on her core strength, and her quality of movement in exercises. After her last 1:1 PT session, I felt energised and just so happy. THIS is what it's all about. I can't help but feel excited for all the people out there I can support. Do the work that lights you up. Bring on another week!
