Dulu pernah baca buku ini satu kali, tapi nggak terlalu mengerti kehebohan isinya, mungkin karena memang bacanya saat masih jauh lebih muda dibandingkan sekarang. 😅 Makanya kali ini, terasa lebih nyambung dan menyenangkan baca ceritanya. Bisa ditebak dari judulnya, isi novel ini membahas soal calon pengantin yang tiba-tiba menjadi "gila" dengan kehebohan segala persiapan pernikahannya. Padahal dia sudah berjanji pada dirinya sendiri untuk menjadi calon pengantin yang tenang, namun malahan terjebak dengan sebuah daftar yang dibuatnya sendiri agar dia bisa lebih disiplin dalam mengerjakan semua hal yang perlu diselesaikan. Working along something a little different (alongside everything else lol) I've gotten permission from the local Sgt Dan Stockfoods company to convert this local icon into a cross stitch pattern, which I hope to get sold as a souvenir in the local shops 😍 I've already noticed a couple changes I need to make from my prototype, and I struggle a bit to keep everything tidy on tiny 18 ct Aida cloth, so I'll probably make it again with all the changes on 14 ct. I'm still absolutely stoked though, as a couple years ago I could barely hold a needle at all due to wrist pain and inconsistent grip. She doesn't think anything of it - Barbara doesn't like anyone anyway. But the next morning, she's found dead - and Jessica asks herself if she really was angry. Or had she been frightened? Barbara's son claims it wasn't an accident. And when he shares proof with Jessica, it puts them both in danger. Soon, someone is sending her threatening messages via the neighborhood chatroom, and her little daughter is having lots of "accidents". But no one wants to believe her... 🦄 My opinion: I devoured this book! I love a good thriller about a secretive, lying bunch of neighbors, and I couldn't get enough of the breathtaking tension this book provided. I did figure out what was going on pretty quickly, but there was this one twist that just slapped me in the face, accompanied with those creepy, shivers-down-my-spine kind of moments that made this book close to perfect. I was hooked by the first chapter and the suspense didn't let until the final conclusion. Today is 8 years since we unexpectedly lost my dad. He was a fun, sensitive and loving dad who I miss like mad every single day The picture is of me and my dad as he walked me down the aisle on my wedding day and the book was one he gave me when I was pregnant with my now 16 year old. I stumbled upon this book while looking for a light-hearted read in the library and it delivered completely. It was a fluffy and interesting read, despite getting a little boring at times. This is the diary of Amy, who can't understand the frenzy that overtakes her friends when they're about to get married and vows to not follow in their footsteps. That is, until she gets proposed to and has to plan her own wedding. Cause in life, things rarely go as planned. The plot of this book was pretty low-key, considering it was about a wedding being planned and written in the form of diary entries. There were a lot of instances where I expected a dramatic turn of events and a few times, I was right but most times, it ended up being nothing. What I really like about this book was how it was kept interesting without being overly or unbelievably dramatic. The characters were the focal point of this book and they were well-thought out. My favorite thing about the characters was how real they were kept. As the book was in diary entry form, it happened with a lot of the characters that the protagonist's opinion of them changed multiple times over the course of the book, which is something very real and yet rarely found to the extent that it was in this book. The writing style of this book was pretty interesting. The thing that set it apart from other books was how in tune my thoughts and feelings were with the protagonist's. There wasn't a single situation where I thought that her feelings or thoughts were wrong or predicted something different from her expectations, which is something that is very rarely found in books.
