Better swim schools swimming lessons for children aged 3months - 4yrs There is also a preschool one for 3-5yrs Swimming lessons are great fun and help provide skills and water confidence that will last a lifetime. The lessons included songs and water play with watering cans and much more This helped to keep the children engaged. Lessons are at Energise and York Leisure Centre. Had the BEST time last night at @grandoperahouse_york watching @222aghoststory ⏰️ 2:22 was one of those shows that I'd heard good things about, but hadn't gotten round to seeing yet. So I jumped at the chance to check out opening night in York! (which is, of course, already a spooky city 👻) I spoke in my stories about it, and I'll add that to a theatre highlight on my page, too. But here's a quick rundown of my experience as a neurospicy theatre girlie, and lover of all things spooky: - the script and storytelling is amazing. The atmosphere was incredible, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! - the characters are great, and the performers did an outstanding job bringing them to life. There's 4 main characters in the show, and you get to know them very well. We came away discussing each character at length 😅 - I love that one of the characters is a psychologist. There were quite a few scientific and psychological conversations, and as a psych student myself, I was there like 'ah yes. Indeed. The white bear effect. Indubitably 🧐.' SENSORY INFO: The only part which I didn't enjoy was the loud scream that is played during scene transitions. It was fine the first time; it put the audience on edge while making them laugh with each other at how much they jumped. But it's every scene transition. Which is probably fine for most folk, but from a neurospicy standpoint, I think just go in there knowing that it's a thing that happens. Loud scream, stage plunged into darkness, then some atmospheric music. That's the formula, and it's only for a few seconds at a time. I promise it's worth it. So I’m currently writing up reviews from last and this month and it’s actually provided me the opportunity to reflect on my thoughts of that book, if the rating has changed etc etc. my qotd to you today is: What’s the best book you’ve read so far this year? me, first and foremost I am so happy I am currently 6 books ahead of schedule on my @goodreads 2024 reading challenge so can’t give up the pace now! I think my favourite book of the year so far is (eek so hard to choose!) has to be Iron Flame as I was so excited to read it and had avoided spoilers for SO long and did shed some tears at the ending. Closely followed by House of Earth and Blood and Date with Death. Loved this book, wasn’t a 5/5 which is surprising for me but I did enjoy it, I do feel like I need to reread it as a lot of info was thrown my way. QOTD: so I put this on my story the other day but would love so more recommendations so- what fantasy book/series would you recommend for me to read? Here are my thoughts 💭 🔥 The Maas universe crossover was great! I liked how Nesta and Bryce bonded and in my opinion we also saw a different side to Azriel. In these moments I did side with Nesta more! 🔥 Ok so how did I not notice that Lidia was good! I loved her character journey and her resilience, her backstory made me really sympathise for her. But I do feel like her ending could have been better. 🔥 I do love Bryce + Hunt, not the strongest couple in SJM universe but i like their relationship. ❓So I wish the time spent in Prythian/Velaris wasn’t rushed. I felt like there could of been more depth there especially with understanding the difference between the fae worlds. ❓I was expecting for this book to explore Fury more as a character, she was portrayed as this badass mysterious assassin which she is but I was expecting more of her character to be drawn out. ❓Don’t know if this is me being a hopeless romantic, but I was expecting Bryce and Hunt’s reunion to be more climatic, it seemed very blaze. He was so worried especially finding out that Bryce hadn’t made it to Hel and when they reunite on the Depth Charger it was like nothing at all. Askham Bog A great place to explore and find nature. We tried to spot wildlife in the ponds and trees but only managed to find a few birds including a Robin this time. The kids love having a run around exploring and picking which path to walk on next, When the weather is a little dryer they love building dens in the woods with all the sticks. What this week 💜 Hi all! I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend whatever you have been up too. After my run this morning I’ve been soaking up the sunshine on the balcony with my book and thought I’d check in with you for the upcoming week. Reading: 📖 I am currently over halfway through House of Flame and Shadow and it is now picking it up in pace. The beginning for where Bryce ends up (won’t reveal any spoilers) I found to be a tad slow?! But I am enjoying it and excited to see how Bryce and co get up to and I continue to find Bryce’s sass very amusing. Watching: 📺 Taskmaster series 7, we’ve had Fallout recommended to us so shall be checking that out too. We also watched Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law last night so may watch the next instalment tonight. 📺 I’ve also been watching @alfiedeyes sunday diaries vlog and @zoesugg ‘s vlogs too. Me and my sister used to watch these vlogs in our teens so it’s a proper nostalgic feel but I just love their vlogs and so grateful they are back! Listening: 🎧 I’m currently 48% of my way into listening Date with Mystery. Delilah dog Tolpuddle was nearly taken away from her so that had me hooked! Luckily Tolpuddle is still with Delilah 🎧 Music I’m listening to: Dua Lipa’s new songs, Ariana Grande’s new album, Yard Act and RAYE. Gaming 🎮 We’re playing a lot of Lego Jurassic World at the moment but I need to get back into Hogwarts Legacy which I have been saying for ages but after staring at a screen all day sometimes it’s the last thing I wanna do. ❓ what are you reading/watching/listening/gaming to this week?
