Salem slowly starts falling in love with both Thayer and Forrest, but will the age gap keep them from being together? This book has come recommended and has been on my TBR for a while. Once I read 11:11 by Micalea, I knew I had to read some of her other work. I was not disappointed with this one, that’s for sure. I think a lot of us have been in a position where we think the older neighbor or dad is hot, but would we ever take it that far? Salem is such a relatable character and the banter between her and grumpy Thayer causes laughs here and there. Macalea is great at writing real life/world challenges and how people can/do overcome them. That’s one of my favorite things about her writing tbh. Just indulging our delight in the beautiful visuals of Bud break on our scenic hillside vineyard. We're about 3 weeks into leaf growth and it's always so beautiful to see them unfurling their delicate tendrils. Those are not grape clusters by the way, just the way the leaves look when they first appear. We're still a couple weeks from seeing any actual tiny tiny grapes. There's no predicting this year's vintage at this point, weather's been pretty average for April Oregon. Now available: @arnaudente Clos du Midi Saumur Blanc 2022 *Arnaud Lambert has been a rising star in the Anjou region, within the Loire Valley of France, since he started working the family vineyards in 2005, his estate is certified organic and biodynamic. This Clos du Midi bottling is 100% Chenin Blanc that comes from one of the colder sites on the Brézé hill. The wine is aged mostly in stainless steel (90%) and 10% in old French oak barrels. Notes of sweet lemon, quince, lemon honey tea, white flowers, sandalwood, orchard fruit, with a crunchy salt rock mineral finish. The palate is nervy with tingling acidity and an almost Chablis-like minerality.*

No point in having anything but the best on #internationalviognierday - The Virgilius from Eden Valley @yalumbawine, the pioneers of Viognier in Australia more than 40 years ago. Old vines grown on high, cool slopes, fermentation with wild yeasts, aged in French oak barrels = aromas and flavours of apricot, freesia (whatever happened to freesias?), ginger, white pepper and grapefruit and a wonderful texture. We’re having it with dressed crab, but it also goes well with mild, creamy, coconut curries. This wine was a sample. I couldn’t do my job without samples (mind you, nor could I do it without spending too much money on wine). @internationalviognierday
