Die Entwicklung Luanas - oder - Wie sah das Land in den frĂŒhen Jahren der Entstehung aus? Zum #mapmontag habe ich eine ganz alte Fassung des Landes Luana rausgekramt. Diese Konzeptzeichnung habe ich 2014 oder 2015 gemalt, Wahnsinn wieviele Jahre das schon wieder her ist. Und wie lange ich an alldem hier arbeite. Die QualitĂ€t ist dementsprechend auch super schlecht, weil ich es damals abfotografiert, auf meinen Laptop geladen und dann wieder ausgedruckt habe đ Im zweiten Slide zeige ich die aktuelle Karte, die ich fĂŒr mich letztes Jahr gemalt habe. Das Land visualisiert zu haben, hilft mir sehr, nicht den Ăberblick zu verlieren. Wie man auch sieht, das Land hat einige VerĂ€nderungen mitgemacht. Ich glaube ĂŒber die Jahre habe ich insgesamt 6 Mal alles neu aufgebaut. It's been a longggg time since this project was completed, but I came across these photos and realised I forgot to put them anywhere. I (ghost) wrote a book! I was incredibly proud to find this on the shelves of Waterstones, and had one of those full-circle moments wandering around London thinking 'Hey, remember when I first moved here and being a professional writer seemed impossible?'  Things I don't have: âą My own name on the cover of a book (but you will find it inside under 'Text by') âą A publishing deal âą A fancy book release event (got the dress ready though)  Things I do have: âą This physical, tangible, beautiful book out in the world (a big writing milestone for me) âą Good habits (it works!)  Happy to say I've since ghost-written another 2 books with the publisher of this project, plus an exciting non-book project (đ) yet to be released. Maybe within the next decade I'll remember to post about them too...  Any writers out there sad that they haven't had their name on the cover of a book yet, me too. Es gibt ein paar BĂŒcher, die treffen dich. Unvorhergesehen und hart und beim Lesen denkst du dir âwas soll das, wieso tut man mir das anâ weil du manchmal Worte hören musst, die du gar nicht hören willst. Ich hatte die letzten paar Jahre eine ziemliche Leseflaute und mir ging es schei*e. Fast jedes Buch, das ich in der Hand hatte, hat mich genervt und irgendwann dachte ich âwenn du Lesen jetzt schei*e findest, wie sollst du dann ĂŒberhaupt noch was schreiben, was andere lesen wollenâ.Und dann kam mein neues Lieblingsbuch.Yes. Like words ist eins meiner LieblingsbĂŒcher und Mehwish zu einer meiner Lieblingsautorinnen geworden. Dieses Buch hat mich zerstört, geheilt, zum Weinen gebracht (und ich heule NIE bei BĂŒchern wirklich NIE), mich lachen lassen und mich verstanden (wieso wĂ€re jetzt zu krasser Spoiler, also dm me bei Fragen). Wenn ich einer Freundin Leseproben von mir gebe, dann kommt fast immer âGefĂŒhle, Nessie, wir brauchen GefĂŒhleâ und ich hasse es, weil sie recht hat und ich ausgerechnet GefĂŒhle nicht gut in Worte fassen kann. Doch bei Mehwish denke ich die ganze Zeit âes ist so schön, sie macht das so gut, ich möchte das auch irgendwann schaffenâ. Irgendwie habe ich beim Lesen wieder ein wenig mich selbst verstanden. Dieser Schreibstil ist so bildhaft poetisch, ich lerne und fĂŒhle. Und beim Lesen hab ich endlich mal wieder gemerkt, warum ich selbst gerne Autorin werden wollte. Wenn jemand es schafft, so viel in mir auszulösen, nur mit Zeilen, dann ist das etwas GroĂartiges. Like water hat mich damals schon attacked, aber like words??? Puh. GroĂe Liebeđ«¶đ» Ich liebe die Sadeem-Geschwister ( #stannuh), ich liebe Sadia (ich wĂŒrde so gerne nachts mal mit ihr kochen) und dann liebe ich Ibrahim. Auf wirre und einzigartige Weise verstehe ich ihn. Zwischen uns liegen Welten und trotzdem sind sie mir alle nah. (Ja, vergessen wir mal, dass alle fiktiv sind okay, das will niemand hören) ich mache gerade einen Reread von Like water weil ich die Charaktere einfach noch nicht aus meinem Alltag lassen kann. This has been on my mind lately. The last 12 months for me have been heavy, it has been one big crushing. Iâve literally felt like a grape being crushed, feeling as if there is no reprieve. But, Iâve been thinking about how beautiful it is, how strong & courageous it is to be grateful for the wine that is to come, the blessings, the lessons, the new life that is to come from this crushing, all the while still being in the process of the crushing. I think what makes our struggles and battles that we face here in our life most worthwhile, is when we are able to dig, with gratitude in hand, for the positives & the meaning. 7 Fakten ĂŒber mich. Die liebe @lejla.a.autorin hat mich zu dieser Challenge nominiert und selbstverstĂ€ndlich nehme ich sie an.đ 1. Fakt: Mein Name âGraceâ ist kein Pseudonym. So heiĂe ich wirklich. Allerdings ist die Aussprache auf afrikanisch nicht so einfach. 2. Fakt: Ich habe mehrere Phobien. Aber drei machen mich wahnsinnig: Krabbelviecher, die wirklich - ich sag es mal höflich: ungewöhnlich aussehen. Benutzte TaschentĂŒcher/ Zewa, die einfach liegengelassen werden und Kaugummis auf dem Boden. Bitte Leute, dafĂŒr gibt es doch MĂŒlleimer. 3. Fakt: Ich hatte es mal erwĂ€hnt, aber gerne noch einmal: ich war mal Kanditatin einer deutschen Modelshow und habe es auch durch die Castings und Interviews geschafft. Nur im Tv, wollte mich keiner sehen.đ 4. Fakt: Mein Vater gab mir mal den Spitznamen: Das Vöglein in ihrem Nest. Warum? Weil ich als Teenager nie wirklich das BedĂŒrfnis hatte, meine Freizeit drauĂen zu verbringen. Ich saĂ lieber auf meinem Hochbett und schrieb Geschichten, TagebĂŒcher oder Gedichte. Nebenbei gesagt, bin ich immer noch ein Stubenhocker. đ 5. Fakt: Ich habe das Schreiben, sowie malen von meinem Vater geerbt. Mein Vater kann den ganzen Tag schreiben und es macht ihm nichts aus. Und obwohl er mich immer damit aufzog, weiĂ er genau, dass ich es von ihm habe.đ 6. Fakt: Als ich mich zum ersten Mal mit meinem Mann traf, sagte er mir sofort, dass er mich heiraten wird. Zu dieser Zeit, war ich von seinem Spruch eher abgeneigt und dachte, er hĂ€tte sie nicht mehr alle. 13 Jahre spĂ€ter sind wir verheiratet und Eltern von drei Kindern.đ 7. Fakt: Mir ist es wichtig, an Gott zu glauben, denn ich glaube nicht nur daran, sondern weiĂ, dass es eine höhere Macht gibt. Die Leipziger Buchmesse 2024 ist vorbei und ich bin ein wenig sprachlos was alles passiert ist. Ich bin aus meiner Comfort-Zone rausgegangen und habe so tolle Menschen kennengelernt und so wundervolle und inspirierende GesprĂ€che gefĂŒhrt. âšïž Life update âšïž đźâđš Man, they never taught you how difficult it is to write an entire novel in school đ for the last two months, I have been planning endlessly on my book. I finally have my characters finalized (main ones and all side ones), my playlist for it is planned out, I have 27 scenes planned and have written about 3 chapters so far. It has been a wonderful, yet frustrating journey. I had planned on trying to get it published in June, but obviously, it's no where near having the first draft being done. So I have pushed my publication date to a later one, begrudgingly, but I understand. I am hoping to get back into the writing process soon! Will probably post hints in a few weeks, we'll see đ I also have not been posting as much again as I have been in a big reading slump...again. Recently myself and my two baby kittens moved house (donât worry, spam incoming). Iâve been a digital nomad for a while. I donât feel bound by things and probably own quite little in comparison to the average American. But as I got to building those bloody book shelves, with no help from the kittens btw đ I was confronted with the boxes of books that Iâve been carrying around for TWO DECADES. I pondered how I would arrange them, which to place at eye level. What they meant to me, what they said about me. As I sat on the floor buried underneath their energetic weight, I realized how they have taken on their own story. The one I have written in my mind about the person who owns them, me. How they might make me seem like âmore of a writerâ, more erudite, more worldly. Proof to all who visit that I am an intelligent woman who is able to⊠read? How silly It was in that moment where it dawned on me - holding onto these fancy books doesnât make me a writer. Writing makes me a writer. Itâs the chapter Iâll write that urges you to re-read it once more, just for the sheer pleasure of it. Itâs keeping the kittens off the keyboard. Itâs ink on paper. Itâs my words out in the world. Itâs the taste of the English language on my tongue. Itâs continuously opening my laptop and my heart, allowing words to land on the page, unfiltered and without judgment. Writing makes you a writer.
