Sauna Struggles🫠 As always, I want to keep it real and also show some of the struggles I have when it comes to my histamine intolerance! 🌿 🤍My Personal Experience! Saunas? I absolutely love them, they feel incredible when I am in one and I love the vibe, but I also hate the reaction. As someone with histamine intolerance my skin reacts badly and I get as red as if I had an extremely bad sunburn. I also loose all of my energy for the ENTIRE DAY and feel very light headed straight after. 😩 I do wonder if there is some research or if there will be in the future that will tell us if it is a positive or a negative reaction on our bodies? I wonder if it’s the heat stress triggering histamine release, causing my skin to react this way. How I became OBSESSED with the gut…. If you’re new around here, you might not know the journey that led me to becoming a gut health coach….It was a long and bumpy ride, but I am SO GLAD TO BE HERE. My health journey literally started from birth. With chronic constipation my entire life, leg pains and joint pains (undiagnosed EDS) and horrific period pains/hormonal issues from the age of 13, I was thrust into considering my health from a very young age. Of course, I did everything wrong back then, turning to pharmaceuticals, multiple surgeries, living on my nerves and partying into oblivion, it was no surprise that by my early 20’s I was a mess. The diagnoses list was ever growing, Endometriosis, Fibromyalgia, MCAS and histamine intolerance, EDS, Lyme disease, EBV, depression, anxiety…..I could go on. After my 6th laparoscopy and being advised to have a hysterectomy, I snapped. I gave up entirely on the western medical model and started my endless research……I tried every supplement under the sun, every restrictive diet you can imagine, crazy long fasts…you name it, I tried it…..and then BAM…..the stars aligned and I found an article about gut health and inflammation….and the rest is history. Since dialing down on my gut health, I am 9 years no endometriosis regrowth, I no longer have MCAS or histamine intolerance, I have 2 healthy bowel movements a day, I do not have fibromyalgia and I have energy to live my life to the fullest. With a story like that, how could I not retrain and help others find the happiness and health that I have? Gemüsebowl mit Hähnchen und als Topping gibt es Reispapier-Chips. Diese Reispapier sind einfach und doch so genial! Ihr benötigt nur zwei Zutaten, die Zubereitung ist kinderleicht und sie sind auch noch blitzschnell fertig. Es verwandelt sich ein Stück Reispapier innerhalb von Sekunden in einen Chip. Ihr braucht lediglich nur Reispapier, welches im Asialaden oder auch schon in Supermärkten gibt und Öl zum frittieren. Das Reispapierblätter jeweils in 4 Teile brechen oder zerschneiden. Pflanzenöl in einer Fritteuse oder Pfanne heiß werden lassen und nacheinander die Reispapierstücke darin frittieren. Die fertigen Stücke auf ein Küchenpapier geben, damit das überschüssige Öl abtropfen kann. What is the link between salicylate intolerance and mould exposure? If you develop salicylate intolerance, your liver detoxification pathways are not functioning effectively usually as a result of some type of toxic burden. There may be a number of reasons for this toxic burden on the liver, however, the most common trigger for salicylate intolerance is mould exposure. In fact, many of my clients who are salicylate intolerant either have a current exposure or a past exposure to mould. I also have a history of mould exposure (for most of my childhood) before developing salicylate intolerance. Mould releases mycotoxins that cause our immune systems to activate mast cells leading to chronic inflammation. This chronic activation of mast cells can lead to their dysregulation otherwise known as mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS). Mast cells release histamine and other cytokines creating chronic inflammation and high histamine levels. Mycotoxins from mould (glucuronidation) and histamine (sulfation) are detoxified via the same two pathways as salicylates. Therefore, when these substances are in excess in the body, these pathways become clogged. This can lead to the impairment of the detoxification of salicylates. It's important if have developed a salicylate intolerance to look at your environment or previous environments for mould exposure. Inactive ingredients (excipients) are common causes of medication intolerances and allergic reactions. Physicians who treat mast cell activation syndrome and their patients know that inactive ingredients (including medications to treat mast cell activation syndrome) can trigger an immune reaction. The U.S. National Library of Medicine’s DalilyMed is a database of excipients in drugs that can be referenced before prescribing or whenever someone has an adverse reaction to a medication. However, there have been inconsistencies in DailyMed. The authors of this new paper compared the excipient reporting of 50 commonly prescribed medications with the product labeling provided by the manufacturer to the FDA. They found inconsistencies in inactive ingredients in 39% of the medications examined. Common inactive ingredients are food dye and color (FD&C), magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, corn starch, silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, and gelatin. Inactive ingredients make up 70% of the bulk of medication, which can significantly contribute to immune reactivity. Often, sensitive patients and people with mast cell activation syndrome require compounded medications so that hypoallergenic inactive ingredients can be used. Supplementen: dé oplossing? Je hoopt dat er een simpele oplossing is voor je HIT (histamine intolerantie). Je denkt dat een combinatie van supplementen je klachten gaan oplossen of in elk geval genoeg verlichting gaan geven. Mijn antwoord: NEE! Helaas is dit niet dé oplossing. Supplementen zijn een prachtige en, in het geval van HIT, essentiële aanvulling, maar ze bieden enkel ondersteuning. Je lost je chronisch verhoogde ontstekingsgraad niet op met enkel suppleren. Om dit voor elkaar te krijgen zul je écht je gehele lichaam moeten aanpakken. Het HVL-traject zorgt hiervoor. Is het een investering? Ja. Is het het waard? 100%! This is the time of year when people are struggling with seasonal allergies. As you get older, and estrogen decreases, your gut diversity decreases, so many women get seasonal allergies when they didn't used to. It can also be an indication of some underlying issues, and a cue that your cup of what your body can handle is getting full. Mold, viruses, infections, poor gut health all play a roll. When I was sick with mold I could not eat any fruit for months because my histamine intolerance was so severe. Thankfully that's in the past, and I'm never bothered by seasonal allergies. Histamine is used to regulate a healthy immune response, but it can get out of control. For purposes of this post, lets focus on helping the symptoms rather than the root cause - which is the opposite of what I like to do but if you need allergy relief, here are my suggestions, and supplements that I like. Histamine is the gut is broken down by the enzyme DAO. So, an unhealthy gut won't properly break down histamines. Blueberries have a lot of DAO, while strawberries have a lot of histamine, so ditch the strawberries for awhile and eat more wild blueberries. Research a low histamine diet, and stick to it until you're feeling better. A teaspoon of raw organic local honey from the farmers market a few times a day can also be a big help. How I became OBSESSED with the gut…. If you’re new around here, you might not know the journey that led me to becoming a gut health coach….It was a long and bumpy ride, but I am SO GLAD TO BE HERE. My health journey literally started from birth. With chronic constipation my entire life, leg pains and joint pains (undiagnosed EDS) and horrific period pains/hormonal issues from the age of 13, I was thrust into considering my health from a very young age. Of course, I did everything wrong back then, turning to pharmaceuticals, multiple surgeries, living on my nerves and partying into oblivion, it was no surprise that by my early 20’s I was a mess. The diagnoses list was ever growing, Endometriosis, Fibromyalgia, MCAS and histamine intolerance, EDS, Lyme disease, EBV, depression, anxiety…..I could go on. After my 6th laparoscopy and being advised to have a hysterectomy, I snapped. I gave up entirely on the western medical model and started my endless research……I tried every supplement under the sun, every restrictive diet you can imagine, crazy long fasts…you name it, I tried it…..and then BAM…..the stars aligned and I found an article about gut health and inflammation….and the rest is history. Since dialing down on my gut health, I am 9 years no endometriosis regrowth, I no longer have MCAS or histamine intolerance, I have 2 healthy bowel movements a day, I do not have fibromyalgia and I have energy to live my life to the fullest.
