Hunger and craving crushing greens; why you should eat them for breakfast to set yourself up for a great day ahead. Side note, I prefer to refer to breakfast as the first meal of the day because you can eat salmon, chicken, ground turkey (like I have most days), and greens, as your breakfast… We know greens are a superstar in nutrition due to their high concentrations of phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals, they support immunity, optimal gut health, detoxification (chlorophyll binds to toxins in our blood and carries them out of our bodies), they decrease inflammation, lower blood pressure, support bones, heart health, skin, and so much more. Greens literally make you look and feel younger! What most people don’t know is that greens contain structures called thylakoids which increase satiety, reduce feelings of hunger, reduce cravings, and increase weight loss or help in maintaining healthy weight. Studies have shown cravings to be reduced by a whopping 35% after greens consumption and those that included greens in their morning smoothies lost more weight than those that didn’t. Thylakoid intake leads to increased levels of the hormone cholecystokinin which promotes feelings of satiety, it also reduces ghrelin, our hunger hormone. Thylakoid intake also prevents a drop in blood sugar after meals which can help you to feel fuller, longer. Hey there, friends! 🌟 Isn't COMT just the coolest gene ever? As promised, I am back and posting! This is one of my favourite snacks - corn thins with egg yolk and iceberg lettuce. I don't eat it a lot because I only eat yolks when the eggs are freshly boiled and somebody is around to eat the whites for me. A couple of notes/caveats below; - every single recipe I post will work for some and not others. We are all different and even though I follow SIGHI, there will always be anomalies that are unique to our own bodies. Save the ideas I post that work for you and please scroll past the ones you know you do not tolerate unless you have a question about substitutes etc. I do not have the time or the energy for combative comments challenging my knowledge or MCAS credibility. I do, however welcome questions posted with good intent and genuine curiosity about alternatives, preparation methods etc. - Egg whites are histamine liberators and are rated 2 on SIGHI - The corn thins I tolerate are the Real Foods brand (plain/original). I do find I have a limit with these. Today, I am celebrating three years of MCAS remission! 💜 Thank you for following my journey and helping me to raise awareness that MCAS treatment can significantly improve lives. My remission anniversary, Sancho’s birthday (my retired service dog), and my birthday are all within a few days–encouraging a weeklong intentional celebration of life, as if I don’t do so every day already. I will never stop celebrating remission. It’s still hard to explain remission to people who didn’t witness the severity of my illness. I still have imposter syndrome about the most mundane activities like riding in an Uber or going to a gym. Every single day, I am grateful to be able to breathe in public, move my body without pain or subluxations, and eat whatever I want. So einfach und lecker 😍 Zutaten: Bio Kartoffelschalen Rapsöl Gewürze nach Wahl wir hatten Meersalz und Paprika edelsüss Zubereitung: Kartoffelschalen in einer Schüssel mit Rapsöl und Gewürzen vermengen. Auf ein Backblech mit Backpapier verteilen und bei 180 Grad Umluft 30-40 Minuten backen. Auskühlen lassen und genießen. Am Wochenende kocht mein Mann immer 🥰😍 Heute gab es überbacken Kartoffelstampf mit Rinderhackbällchen in Ajvarsoße. Rezept für 2 Personen: Zutaten Hackbällchen: 300g frisches Rinderhack 1 weiße Zwiebel 1 Bio Ei oder 5 Wachteleier 2 EL gemahlene Bio Cornflakes Gewürze : Meersalz, Paprika edelsüss Zutaten Soße: 2 EL selbstgemachtes Ajvar 200ml Wasser 1 EL Frischkäse Gewürze: Meersalz, Kurkuma 500g Kartoffeln 1 Geriebener Bio Gouda Jung Rapsöl Zubereitung: Kartoffeln schälen, in Würfel schneiden und gar kochen. Dann mit Butter und Meersalz zerstampfen. Zwiebel in feine Würfel schneiden. Alle Zutaten für die Hackbällchen in eine Schüssel geben, durch kneten, Hackbällchen formen und in Rapsöl anbraten. Backofen auf 200 Grad Ober-/Unterhitze vorheizen. Den Kartoffelstampf in eine Auflaufform geben und platt streichen. Die Hackbällchen auf den Kartoffelstampf verteilen. Die Soße herstellen. Ajvar, Wasser Frischkäse und Gewürze kurz aufkochen. Die Soße über die Häckbällchen gießen und mit Käse bestreuen. Für 15 Minuten im Backofen überbacken. However, if you are sensitive to histamine you might find it really helps not to eat fruits and vegetables that either contain histamine, encourage more histamine to be released in the body, or those that block the DAO enzyme.
