Every parent dreads short naps. You just sit down after getting baby to sleep and there is barely any time to relax before they need you again. Here (at) fullfeedings we believe the key to getting great naps is making sure your baby is asleep by their age-appropriate Optimal Wake Time (OWT). We recommend Suggested OWT’s for each and every babe until 4 years old via MONTHLY GUIDES that come with our Online Programs. At the very least, these are a great starting point to work towards longer naps. Undertired is MUCH better than overtired and our OWT’s do what they can to prevent over tiredness at each and every age. In addition to following age-appropriate OWT’s, here are 3 tips for longer naps with your baby: 1- Make sure your baby is full. Hungry babies don’t sleep well so making sure your baby has a full feeding in every cycle (between sleeps) will help make longer naps possible. 2- Help your baby to sleep. Babies struggle to regulate themselves, and if you are expecting your baby to fall asleep “on-time” by themselves, it can often cause them to stay awake too long, which can lead to a shorter nap. Rocking them to sleep “on time” is a great way to ensure longer naps are possible. 3- Help extend naps when possible. If baby wakes early from a nap, help them to extend it (i.e. contact nap) and this will help to keep feeds adequately spaced out and also help encourage longer naps. If you need help with naps and nighttime sleep with your baby or toddler, we offer affordable Online Sleep Programs that alleviate the need to “sleep train” and DO NOT INVOLVE CRY IT OUT. And now she is a believer, no longer depressed, a homemaker, her husband who refused to have more children finally felt peace about it because the home was no longer in chaos and she is pregnant with her second, and he is even attending church with his family now. I don’t say that to prop myself up, but to say that godly homemakers are a witness to the Gospel. You don’t have to be out on the streets, or in a foreign country, or in a pulpit to share the gospel. Simply living and sharing about true godly womanhood can be enough to point others to Christ. “Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.” Ephesians 5:24 1. You may disagree, submit anyways. Sometimes, (often, in many cases) your husband would like your input on some situations. Sometimes he might not. And sometimes, even with your input, he makes a decision contrary to what you wanted. Regardless, part of submitting in everything includes submitting when we disagree. 2. Being a Christian is not actually a pre-requisite to be a head of the wife. Yes, even if the wife is a believer and the husband isn’t. In FACT, if a husband is not a believer, “wives are to submit [themselves] to [their] own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives.” 1 Peter 3:1 3. You may be more knowledgeable on theological matters or homebirth or vccines, whatever it may be, but you should still submit, even if you think you know better. Over time, maybe you may be able to lovingly change his mind or “bring him to the dark side” 🤣 but even if that never happens… submit anyways! It it is certainly easier said than done sometimes, depending on a lot of factors, but it is always worth it! It brings unity in the marriage, honors God, and truly if you and your husband are a team, submission is like a beautiful waltz. Spent my day doing some editing and prepping new contracts for maternity sessions. Also spent time trying to plan our anual summer vacation and I literally gave up on it. It’s becoming so difficult to plan trips so if anyone has any tips on places you’ve visited (especially with a toddler) I’m open to suggestions. This is about the marriage relationship. Of course, a boyfriend should be able to tell whether or not you’ll be a submissive wife in marriage, and you should respect him, etc. BUT he is not head over you yet. The true submission/headship relationship is actually quite intimate and has no place in dating. 2. This should go without saying, but true abuse calls for outside intervention, both from godly council, and maybe even other authorities. Sometimes, separation may be necessary. But if you are being hurt, of course, protect yourself and your children. 3. Maybe he wants you to watch p*rn together, get drunk, drag you into gossip, etc.- participation in things like this is a definite no-go. I don’t mean things like: he wants to send your children to public school and you want to homeschool, or he wants you to work, but you want to stay home, or you want 500 babies, but he will only have two. Situations like these may go against your convictions or what you think is ideal, or what actually IS ideal but I would never suggest a wife to rebel against her husband in areas like these but rather follow 1 Peter 3:1, as well as lovingly bring it up when appropriate and if he doesn’t mind.
