• ok- this one of the MANY reasons why it’s important to be in tune with your body 🤎 ——— noticing yourself breathing faster, heart racing, cheeks warming 👉🏼 then you find yourself snapping at your kids. These are signs you’re feeling irritable bc of of over stimulation. My thing? Constantly being touched + overlapping voices. Those 2 things can really set me off 🤯 •first things first- please don’t compare your tolerance to another moms tolerance. This one was huge for me to learn + accept • you’re human first- then a mom. Snapping + being overstimulated is totally normal. • identify your triggers - for me? • 🌸 active listening is an important life skill (and honestly- a trait I find incredibly attractive in a human being)- name me a person more important to actively listen to than your child? Of course- we can’t do this every single time they speak but you- as their mama, you know those important moments. Feeling heard {+ respected } builds their self esteem + confidence. Something also important to me? It gains trust in communication which is crucial in the older years. 🌸 so many times I find myself answering “I love you too” in a hurried way, while cleaning or typing something on the phone- not okay.
