Also, they have nonworking mouths and no digestive system when they're adults. They exist off the energy stored in them from their caterpillar stage, so their adult lifespan is 7 - 10 days. This is more than just a place for me; it's like my second home. I love spending time there anytime, any day, because it brings me so much happiness and peace....I'm sharing this because I truly believe everyone should visit an orphanage, disabled home, or old age home at least once in their life... Giving donations or essentials is good, but spending time with them is different; it makes you realize how fortunate we are. Being loved by someone is the biggest blessing🫂 When visiting an orphanage, it's not mandatory to bring something every time. Instead, invest your thoughts and genuine care. Once, while serving cake, a kid told me he preferred simple snacks like panipuri and potato chips over cake. Their happiness lies in the little things. Before going to an orphanage try to know their backgrounds. Why are they here? (Not all children are orphans; some are just poor where their parents are happy to see their children get 3 meals a day here). Children at these shelters quickly sense fake affection. They don't want charity Only the administrations of these shelters want charity/donations to provide for them. The children want friends, brothers/sisters, and people who really connect with them. So talk to them, play with them and share stories... Remembering their names and addressing them personally means a lot. And always respect their privacy; don't try into their past unless they want to share. Making someone smile isn't easy, but it's worth it.
