✨ The Atlas Six review ✨ My rating with a book closely related with my experience reading them. I'm not exaggerating when I say TA6 audiobook is life changing. I tried to read it, and it just doesn't work😭😂 since I used to go through 17kms journey to my workplace, I started listening to audiobook a lot and TA6 AUDIOBOOK IS HEAVENLY and I FELL IN LOVE HARD WITH THE NARRATORS. SUDDENLY, THE STORY COMES TO LIFE 😭😭😭😭 I can picture them better and somehow everything else bcome better, too😭😭😭😂 the plot, the character development, the plot twist, the reasons behind the action, THE RELATIONSHIP. OMG THE RELATIONSHIP. I love how polymary they could be. I love the setting, the study. The magic system is quite wide-ranged. It involved both scientific comprehension, and emotional excellence. So, there's an empath, someone who talks to nature, a telepath, an Illusionist and Physicists. Kinda hard to grasp, but once u get it, get it. This book is more of a vibe than an actual story 😭🤣 everyone's so pretentious and no one talk to each other like that irl 😭 this is one of those fafifuwasweswos book I'm happy to discover that the physical copy is equally pretty 🥺🥺🥺🥺 the definition of buku ganteng my version 🥺 the illustrations within are worthed!!! My version of #top3challenge ✨ I was so happy @readwithaprinda tagged me, it's a nice change of air than my typical review feeds 🙈 I've only managed to read 11 books so far, but they're mostly good reads!!! So the second slide is a solid 👌 I thought a lot about top 3 authors.... Finally I decided to just get to know the authors whose books become my best 3. I only have read 1 of their works and excited to read their other works. So far, the author whose books never disappoint me goes to RF. KUANG~ but it might change. Sometimes I like a piece but I haven't read all of their works to decide whether they're going to be my autobuy author. And I make a special slide for Muslim and Indonesian authors bcs I like their works and have read most of rhem and they deserve the shout-out!!!! Go read their works. When it comes to genre, honestly I read everything that looks and sounds interesting. Elektra review and picture dumps 🥹💖 What I want to emphasize is I have the best reading experience with Elektra. I was reading it right after I finished The Song of Achilles. We were still in Trojan War, but this time, we've got to see the women's POV. Elektra (Agamemnon and Clytemnestra's daughter) herself, -Clytemnestra (Helen's sister, Elektra's mother, Agamemnon's wife), and -Cassandra (Paris' older sister). I always always have a soft spot for a grieving mother. This book did it justice. It's a beautifully written sadness, heart shattering experience that led to justifiable actions. I love how the feelings of these women were validated as we saw the war through their eyes. They were not modestly bowing over men, they chose their own fights and revenges. The different struggles faced by these women made this book undeniably page turning, and how at the end their fate intertwined one another. These women stood up for what they believe. They shouldnt be undershadowed. Thus, Im glad this kind book existed. What happened for only less than 5 seconds action in one book, could turn into a chapter of heart wrenching tragedy through the eyes of another book. THAT'S WHY I TREASURE RETELLINGS SO MUCH. WE'VE GOT ANOTHER POV. Zobaczyłam post u Aleksandry @100_ksiazek.pl o książce Craiga Russell’a „Czynnik diabła”, to mnie bardzo zmotywowało, żeby ją przeczytać szybciej, niż planowałam, a wierzcie warto. @proszynski_wydawnictwo Postaram się Was zachęcić, bez dużych spojlerów ☺️. Głównym bohaterem jest psychiatra Viktor Kosarek, wychowanek Carla Junga (to już nam daje pewne wskazówki ☺️), który zaraz zacznie praktykę w owianym złą sławą zakładzie psychiatrycznym Hrad Orlu - z którym wiąże się mroczna legenda, nadal siejącą postrach wśród mieszkańców małej wioski. W zamku zamknięto 6 najokrutniejszych morderców środkowo-wschodniej Europy, właśnie wśród tych przypadków Viktor zamierza znaleść czynnik diabła, tj. nieuchwytną siłę, która pcha w stronę zła. ~ Czy mu się uda? Jakie tajemnice skrywa zamek? Kim są skazańcy i dlaczego nazywa się ich szóstką diabła, jakie zbrodnie popełnili? Jakie mroczne tajemnice odkryje bohater? Tego niestety nie zdradzę, żeby nie psuć lektury 🫢. ~ Niemniej: 1. Dostajemy psychologiczny kryminał sensacyjny z elementami thrillera i wątkiem historycznym. 2. Akcja dzieje się w Pradze i Hrad Orlu w roku 1935 - czasie niepokojów i budzącego się antysemityzmu, w czasie dochodzenia Hitlera do władzy i to podoczne tło historii, jest mocno wyraziste, a do tego nosi znamiona realizmu. 3. Każda z postaci, głównych czy pobocznych, ma mocny charakter, są inni, myślą odmiennie i te drobne szczegóły udało się Russellowi uchwycić. 4. Znajdziecie to suspens - chociaż ostatnie rozdziały pozwoliły mi dobrze wydedukować o co chodzi, niemniej w połowie powieści miałam kilka opcji, które rozważałam i to myślę sukces tej książki, gdyż skłania do przemyśleń. 5. Prawdę mówiąc, wielowątkowość tej powieści jest jej mocna storą, chociaż niekiedy konstrukcja mnie nużyła, to ostatecznie uważam, że to pozycja godna polecenia. W tej książce znalazłam wszystko co sprawia mi przyjemność w czytaniu. Jest to historia z zagadką w tle do rozwiązania, przepełniona intrygami, sekretami, tajemnicami, niedopowiedzeniami utrzymującymi w napięciu lecz również z mrocznymi niuansami. Nie zabrakło też wątków miłosnych które rozgrzewają całą atmosferę, ale i łamiących serce momentów. 🐾 Cóż historia Valei od początku jest dość zagadkowa. Dziewczyna zna tylko skrawki informacji o swoim pochodzeniu oraz rodzinie, to samo odnosi się do jej nadzwyczajnych umiejętności. Ukryta wśród ludzi nie może też pozwolić na zdemaskowanie swojego pochodzenia. Jednak los jest zawrotny i zbieg wydarzeń powoduje, że nasza bohaterka wraca w rodzinnie strony, a tam czeka ją do rozwikłania zagadkowe zabójstwo, odkrycie prawdy i wojna. 🕸️ Pozycja jak dla mnie idealna na leniwy, deszczowy weekend w domu. Dzięki której przeniosłam się myślami w świat wyobraźni i przygody. This book was quite a hype on booktwt several years ago, and thus began my introduction to Hanna Alkaf's works. I didn't put much expectations except this book set in Malaysia during the turbulence time of Malay and Chinese. Not only portraying the historical event, this book managed to catch the ignorance of treating someone with mental health issues right. Melati, our main character, believed she harbours a djin instead of working with her OCD. It also managed to elaborate the complex feelings and relations between Melati and her mother. Now, the historical event. The setting happened for a tense 24 hours. Melati got separated from her mother, and needed to find a safe haven. With a gripping storytelling, Melati faced the dangers of racial tension in her homeland. Will she be able to make it through her mother? What did she do to survive? How was it for her? Read this book to find out. My personal take would be this book don't disappoint. I see why how sharp and atmospheric Hanna Alkaf put this story to life. As Indonesian, the racial tension with the Chinese brought us to some of the darkest history of our country. It's not much different there. 📚 Chronique Le Jardin des fées – tome 1 – Audrey Alwett & Nora Moretti 🧚♀️ | « La légende de l'or des fées vient du fait qu'elles peuvent en faire apparaître en échange de leur vie. » | Dès le début, nous est osé les bases d'un monde féerique qui a du sens avex un scénario bien pensé et mené d'une main de chef ! Aux premiers abords l'histoire paraît douce, pourtant, elle devient de plus en plus sérieuse : plus on tourne les pages, plus nous retrouvons des passages plus sombres, dissimulant de nombreux secrets – de famille notamment. Notre lecture est remplie de mystères ! Certaines questions trouveront leur réponses dans ce premier tome, pour d'autres, il faudra attendre la suite. J'ai adoré deviner le sens de certains mots comme « carapafuir » ou encore « truchin ». Au cours de la lecture, on comprend assez rapidement que la vie que mène Lucie n'a rien de facile et qu'il n'est pas simple pour elle de s'adapter à ce nouvel univers. Le jardin des fées est pour elle comme un cocon où elle retrouve l'expression de ses valeurs. Sa détermination et sa gentillesse sont sa force dans cet univers qui n'est pas seulement peuplé de fées mais aussi d'êtres humains et d'hommes : les membres de sa famille qui ne leur veulent pas du bien à Lucie et aux fées... Le + que j'ai adoré voir dans cette BD, ce sont les pages du journal du grand-père de Lucie. Ces dernières ont été très bien réalisées, ça se lit de façon très fluide et surtout ça permet de situer tout ce joli petit monde. Certaines étaient déjà là à l'époque du grand-père : ça nous permet de comprendre pas mal de choses, ça amène beaucoup d'éléments de réponses à l'intrigue. Les graphismes sont fabuleux, remplis de magie et de féerie ! On retrouve un véritable souci du détail qui parvient à nous projeter au cœur de ce jardin rempli de fées. Short story compilation about the creatures throughout SEA written by SEA authors. Hanna Alkaf created a competition for unagented aspiring author in SEA to join. 📚 Petit mois, petites lectures 📚 Bonsoir tout le monde ! ✨️ Un petit post pour vous présenter ma PAL du challenge #petitmoispetiteslectures organisé par Audrey du @lesouffledesmots et auquel je participe ! J'adore ce challenge, il me permet de sortir des ancêtres de ma PAL 🥲 📚 J'en profite pour enfin lire Cris de Laurent Gaudé, un auteur que j'aime beaucoup. Dans les romans, je souhaite aussi lire du Charles Dickens, Olivier Adam - dont on me parle depuis très longtemps - ou en encore Kressmann Taylor avec son classique《 Inconnu à cette adresse 》! 🖌Je vais aussi lire Pumpkin Heads de Rainbow Rowell - et en anglais ! Sacré challenge pour moi. (Et oui, je veux retourner en automne). ✒️ Je vais ensuite lire trois recueils de poésie : 《 Froissement 》de Colette Andriot,《 Brûler, Brûler, Brûler 》de Lisette Lombé - qui m'intrigue beaucoup. Et le dernier recueil que je souhaite lire est le dernier de Rupi Kaur :《 Home body 》- j'avais adoré les deux premiers. 📖 A cela, s'ajoutent quelques mangas. J'y ai mis deux mangas que je souhaite lire depuis longtemps :《 Fire Force 》de Atsushi Ohkubo et《 Le péché originel de Takopi 》par Taizan S. Mais aussi《 Blue Exorcist 》qui sera une relecture. 📚 Chronique Dans les yeux de Lya, tome 1 – Carbone & Justine Cunha. • 🌙 « C'est à ceux que notre société rejette, les cassés, les tordus, les handicapés, les anormaux, que je dois la vie. » • ✨️ Avec Lya, on a une héroïne très forte, courageuse et audacieuse. Elle n’a pas froid aux yeux et elle n’a pas peur de se frotter à plus grand qu’elle. • 🌙 Les dessins sont attrayants, vifs et expressifs et on y retrouve une belle touche de modernité je trouve ! Nous suivons la protagoniste avec une certaine facilité. • ✨️ Le rythme effréné de cette BD nous empêche de nous ennuyer lors de notre lecture : nous allons dans tous les sens au même rythme que l’enquête de Lya qui est à la recherche de celui qui a causé sa paralysie. Je suis une grande fan des deux. La musique sur les réels ajoutent quelque chose en plus mais j'aime beaucoup les aesthetic avec de nombreuses images. • 🌙 Lire un livre à la fois ou plusieurs en même temps ? Je suis de la team qui lit plusieurs livres en même temps. En ce moment, j'en lis deux à la fois - je suis raisonnable haha. • 🌙 Lire avec ou sans musique ? Généralement, c'est sans musique. Ta historia jest dla mnie niesamowicie ważna i nawet nie potrafię dokładnie opisać tego jak cudownie mi się ją czytało. Samą książkę przeczytałam w zaledwie kilka godzin, a mimo tego bawiłam się cudowanie. Bohaterowie jak i różne ich historie tworzą niesamowitą atmosferę, w dodatku dużo możemy dowiedzieć się o tym jak wygląda życie tych nastolatków od środka, czego nikt z zewnątrz nie widzi. Problemy jakie ich spotykają i własne sposoby na ich rozwiązanie są czymś co bardzo mnie urzekło. Od zawsze i na zawsze to właśnie Mike będzie moją ulubioną postacią, zżyłam się z nim nie tylko przez to jaki był, a również jakie miał problemy, po prostu odnalazłam w nim siebie przez co było mi lepiej i bardziej komfortowo z samą sobą. I don't get it. This isn't the book for me. Definitely a me problem bcs I think I'm too stupid to comprehend the stories 🥲 Beda kyk Tiga Dalam Kayu, in the end aku "nangkep" garis besarnya apa dan ceritanya ada garis merahnya. Kalo ini I feel like the story stood on its own dan emg ga nyambung satu sama lain. Tapi ini normal si buat buku kumpulan cerpen. Cuma buatku gaya bahasanya yang beda2 bgt dan konflik yang lompat2 agak bikin mikir bgt 😭 belum lagi semua ceritanya implisit. Tiap selesai baca 1 cerpen ini maksudnya apa ya 😭😭😭 langsung kepikiran and ended up not enjoying it to the fullest.... Mungkin karena ada beberapa cerita yang udah pernah terbit sebelumnya di antologi lain, jadi kejomplangannya kerasa bgt sih buatku._. Ada 8 cerita, aku baru sampe cerita ke 6. Favoritku so far 1, yang judulnya Kin (Si Kurang Ajar). Hwv, at this point it feels excruciating to finish the book :( mungkin aku akan coba lagi diselang-seling sama buku lain biar dapet lagi 'mood'nya. Sebenernya dulu pernah ikut diskusi buku ini sama Kak Ziggy online. Seru bgt sebenarnya diskusinya. Walaupun udah dispoiler beberapa ternyata pas baca langsung TETEP BINGUNG 😭😭😭 wkwkwk tapi inget si dulu Pingu pernah bilang, gausah dipikir berat. Enjoy aja. Soalnya banyak pertanyaan kita yng sebenernya ga sedalem itu maknanya. Berkisah tentang seorang anak laki-laki yang tidak ingin tumbuh dewasa. Baginya, tumbuh dewasa terdengar merepotkan. Lebih menyenangkan menjadi anak-anak yang bisa terus bermain setiap saat. Sejujurnya, aku belum pernah membaca novel Peter Pan dengan cerita yang sedetail ini. Aku sudah pernah menonton film nya, juga membaca dongeng singkatnya. Tapi, ketika membaca novelnya, aku jadi jauh lebih mudah membayangkan ikut berada dalam ceritanya. Betapa menyenangkan ikut bertualang di Neverland bersama Peter, Wendy, John, Michael, dan Tinker Bell serta anak hilang lainnya. Peter dengan kenakalannya dan Wendy dengan sifat keibuannya tergambar jelas dalam cerita ini. Peter Pan adalah buku pertama yang aku baca di tahun 2024 dan berhasil aku selesaikan hanya dalam waktu 3 hari. Selain karena bukunya memang tidak terlalu tebal, juga karena ceritanya yang sangat menyenangkan. Omong-omong, sama seperti Peter yang tidak ingin tumbuh dewasa, kurasa setiap anak pasti pernah berpikir demikian, pun dengan aku. Dulu, salah satu ketakutanku adalah tumbuh menjadi dewasa dan harus kehilangan masa kanak-kanak yang menyenagkan. Namun, seperti Wendy, aku bertumbuh. Aku bukan lagi anak-anak, bahkan kini aku sudah memiliki anak. Menjadi dewasa memang cukup rumit, tapi kami memiliki petualangan kami sendiri. NOTE: *Kalau ada yang mengetuk jendela kamarmu atau jendela kamar anakmu, bisa jadi itu Peter Pan. Mungkin ia sedang mencari 'ibu' untuk membacakan dongeng kepada anak hilang lainnya. Atau mungkin ia hanya butuh anak perempuan untuk membantunya membersihkan rumah pohon. *Kalau kau seorang anak, jangan lupa untuk pulang, ibumu mencemaskanmu. Mungkin kau bisa membawa anak lainnya -- barangkali ibumu mau merawat mereka juga. Tapi, kalau kau seorang ibu... Yah, kurasa kau tak punya pilihan lain selain membiarkan Peter membawanya bertualang.
