The problem with dependency……. A busy little mouse was placed on top of a jar of grains. 🐀 It made his little life. Look at all this food. He no longer needed to scavenge. 💥 Life was good now for this little fella. 💣 After a few days of gorging himself, living his best mouse life he reached the bottom of the jar! 😯 Suddenly it dawned on him. (He was a very bright mouse you see! 🤣) He was trapped, with no way out! He was now fully dependent on someone to either put grains in the jar for him to survive. Or, to lift him out. Either way, life was no longer on his terms! 🤬 What had he learnt? (He must be a fella, we are generally more impetuous). 😂😂 ✅1. Short-term pleasure often leads to long-term traps. ✅2. If things come easy and you get too comfortable you get trapped into dependency. ✅3. If you don’t use your skills, expect to lose them, and eventually choice and freedom. ✅4. Don't take freedom for granted and lose it carelessly. To make this metaphor a bit more crystal clear. Too much junk food and lack of exercise leads to long-term ill health. You no longer have free use of your own body. You will lose your freedom, choice and be trapped in a life of medication or care worker dependency. 💉💊🩺 It often isn’t a priority until it is too late. Don’t be f**king naïve. It is coming. Maybe not today, maybe not this year or next. But eventually. 💯 Do something your future self (and family) will thank you for. 💥 Prioritise your health and fitness. Just start…… 💪

Garlic Butter Prawns, Rice, Slaw P 48 | F 12 | C 47 498 calories 200g Prawns (raw) 20g Devondale 50% Less Fat Butter 2-4 Garlic Cloves (crushed) 125g Jasmine Rice (cooked) 50g Coleslaw (no dressing), 20g Low Fat Greek Yoghurt, 15g Onion (thinly sliced), Squeeze Lemon Juice Season prawns with salt, pepper and garlic powder (optional). Cook in a non-stick pan on med/high for 5-6 minutes (until cooked through), turning halfway. In the last 2 minutes, add the garlic and butter and reduce heat to med/low. Mix well so the garlic doesn’t burn and the butter creates a sauce. Meanwhile, prepare your slaw by mixing in yoghurt, onion and lemon. You don’t need to restrict today or this week, I know it’s what you’ve been told and it’s now what you believe you need to do. But when you restrict your food intake after a “heavier food weekend” these two things happen: 💜 You are telling yourself you did something bad, so you are punishing yourself 💜 You are making yourself hungrier than you already are These don’t help you reach your long-term goals because by punishing yourself, you are not showing yourself compassion, and self-compassion is vital for long-term success. And you are telling yourself that you did bad behaviour, which isn’t true, just because you enjoyed yourself a bit more one weekend doesn’t mean you are bad and the action itself is not bad either, yes it may slow down your weight loss if that's the goal, but it’s not “ruined” it and you deserve to have fun and enjoy your life. If you are dieting in any way, shape, or form, you will have put yourself in a calorie deficit, which means you will already be slightly hungrier, so if you restrict your calories even more, then you are allowing room to be even hungrier which doesn’t help with your adherence and will most likely result in overeating. Been working extra these past few weeks. It's hard trying to gain muscle while also making sure I just got get fatter. I've been doing two 36 hour fast a week and wanna keep it going for May. Not a fan of taking body pictures of myself but whenever I want ti check on my progress or changes it's a whole ordeal and I will start taking more pics. Whether people think I'm doing as a thirstrap or vanity, I've worked hard since my 20s to be healthy and fit. Intermittent fasting has helped alot, I do have a tricky body I easily gain weight. I'm happy to have maintained the weight loss so far, and will keep working on my fitness. I really hope others that struggle with weight find my own fitness stories and path useful. Depending on the exercise intensity and what the goal is, will determine when or if it's necessary to have a source of protein around your workout. The anabolic window is over hyped, if your total daily protein intake is adequate more is not necessarily better, you may be sacrificing energy to fuel your workouts or aid in better recovery or get in more micro nutrients essential for health. If your sole focus is muscle growth then I'd advise protein post workout for a few reasons. Spike in MPS (muscle protein synthesis) to promote building and repairing of muscle tissue. Less chance of stomach discomfort. If you haven't had protein for a few hours prior to your session then it may be an idea to have some pre workout depending on length of session and time between meals.
