If you saw my stories over the weekend you'll have seen we were involved in the awareness rally with @birminghamsaysno and a huge selection of bully dogs and supporters from around Birmingham. As a parent, the thought of my kids growing up in such a dangerous city terrifies me, so whatever we can do together to reach young people and stop them making stupid decisions, is worth doing. Knife related crime in 2021 in the West Midlands was up 41% on year ending 19/20, with 18,553 disposals given for possession of a knife or offensive weapon. Juveniles (aged 10-17) were the offenders in 19% of cases. Looking at you, looking at me 🥺 Aliya and I said goodbye to our breastfeeding journey 2 days ago and I've had all the feels and emotions to go along with it, including the tears falling as I make this post. 398 days I had the privilege of nourishing my beautiful baby. It was definitely an uphill battle at times, but most of the time it was pure love and bliss. I have never fought so hard for anything in my life, but I am SO grateful that I did. I will miss these moments of bonding and looking into each other's eyes soooo much. I am hopeful that she will still give me a few snuggles here and there 🙏 ♡

When I was thinking about how to explain why we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with the girls, I wasn’t sure where to start. So I decided to keep it simple and start the conversation small. I want my girls to think that our differences make us special and amazing. I also want them to know that differences do not make us any less or human. So this is where we started our conversation. I gave the girls a few different skin(ish) colored paints this morning and asked them to make handprints. While the girls painted, I read a couple of the books we have on MLK. When they were done, painting Maggie and I talked about how all of the hands may be different colors, but they’re still hands. We tried the same concept with eggs later and that didn’t end so well. These are little things and little conversations but my hope of all of the little things will make big impacts on the girls and grow up to be good people. Siblings are like branches of a 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦. They 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸 in different directions, yet their 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘴 always remain as 𝐨𝐧𝐞 🌳 A question I’ve been asked a lot, is how has Nico been with Ariella. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how sweet and protective he is of his baby sister. Quite honestly I was pretty fearful while I was pregnant. He loved to lay on my belly while we would read bedtime stories. However, he would tell me and I quote “I’m going to take a bulldozer and put dirt on her” 😳 As you could imagine that was pretty alarming 😆 But now if he thinks she went 💩 in her diaper he insist I change her immediately! He helps hand me wipes, diapers and a blanket when needed. So I guess he doesn’t want his baby sister dirty or cold after all lol

This is 4. . I thought about posting a fancy photo of Char in a beautiful outfit holding a nice 4 balloon... but this photo is so much more fitting for her. Smiling in a unicorn mask that she coloured perfectly (she says with confidence), wearing pink and sporting some messy hair...that's my girl. . She's wild, fiesty, caring...she has the biggest heart for animals of anyone I've ever met. She loves deeply and strongly, is incredibly outgoing and doesn't like to sit still...ever. Her "best" things are her loveys, her mommy, daddy, sister, and brother (our dog and cat 😂), unicorns, pink and purple, and "everything and everybody". She loves shopping if she thinks she's getting something, eats almost anything but eats like the slowest thing on the planet, and spends a lot of her day dancing or jumping around doing "tricks". She's in a dance class, loves going to church (in spinny dresses only), wants to go to school now, and doesn't understand why people wouldn't want to play with her 24/7. She is confident and doesn't let a day go by where she doesn't remind me that she's beautiful, knows everything, and is the best at whatever things she's doing lol. . She's absolutely fabulous and I wouldn't change a thing about her (she's sleeping right now...that might change when she wakes up 😂). .
