Costing £3.75 on offer with @tescofood @tescoirl clubcard at an original value of £5.40, as a blonde chocolate fan i was very pleased about this addition. Having a pale, light brown coloured base, this held a pleasantly sweet flavour. Easy to melt, it provided a creamy and soft scoop. With the usual buttery, discrete burnt sugar notes, this was an evident caramel base. Rippled throughout included a pleasant white chocolate sauce. This gives extra sweetness and excitement followed by some delicious cake style biscuit pieces. Although not many, I loved how soft and spongy these were and paired perfectly in the mix. Health wise this is like all of the brands range and low in calories. Per 460ml tub it is only 380 calories. Per 100g it is 151 calories however it is much less dense than your average ice cream with the whole container only weighing 251g. For some more fun I’ve added some of @aldiuk @aldi_ireland Belgian Truffle Filled Egg alongside 10 @milkybaruki gold buttons. Overall I really loved this and the idea, however I felt it lacked cake pieces and like all low calorie tubs, its low density resulting in a very quick melt. Being new to halo tops range, I was excited to give this one a go! Known for their low calorie tubs high in protein, this was another enjoyable edition to their range. Vibrant in colour, this provided a bright yellow to orange appearance. Smooth and creamy, this featured a mildly milky flavour. Sweet with an initial artificial aftertaste, soon it diminished to a stage where you get used to its individual tang. Almost like a caramel, this held a butter, brown sugar like idea. Speckled here and there were small honeycomb nuggets. Although not many, these were pleasantly coated in a milk chocolate shell and give a little crunch throughout. Health wise it’s no lie this is a low calorie option so perfect for those watching their waistline 😉. The whole tub is only 370 calories with 100g 132 calories. Having said that, like everything it’s best in moderation due to the artificial sweeteners. For some more fun I’ve added some @reeses @reesesuk mini peanut butter cups. Overall this was an enjoyable low calorie pint. The density wasn’t bad considering it only weighed 280g. Yes more airy and light than regular ice cream and there was a slight difference from the sweeteners but for its values I can’t complain. Unfortunately A little expensive but still enjoyed regardless. Described as “Salted Caramel and Lucuma Flavoured Ice Cream with a Milk Chocolate Coating with a Caramel Flavour Swirl, with Sugars and Sweeteners”, these costed €5.99 from @supervaluni @supervalu_irl . Oppo is a brand I’ve had some pints by so I when I seen these I was curious what they might be like. In structure these were almost identical to magnums ice cream bites. Circular/ oval in appearance these were coated finely with a milk chocolate exterior. Crisp this was a sweet and strong cocoa flavour. Cracking open hid its inner base. Vanilla with a slight butterscotch colour this was in fact a mild caramel. A little artificial compared to regular ice cream, these featured an additional caramel sauce lightly drizzled inside. Low in density these had a slightly more icy melt if you are used to having full fat. Having said this they did fluff up when left a while by themselves. Health wise these are only 22 calories or so per 9g ball. This means per 100g they are only 244 calories. This is significantly lower than magnums bites 100 a worth at 358 calories. Unfortunately because of the low density, these had a quick melting point. To bump up I added 1/2 raspberry double @magnum @magnumicecream , a white @gelatelli from @lidlgb @lidlni @lidlireland and a raspberry and white chocolate @skinny_bars. Overall I thought The chocolate wasn’t too thick at the bottom of each ball and I did find the base a little artificial and sharp. Containing three 170ml pots, these were delicious and soft ice cream pots. Enjoying many gelatelli products, Lidl once again have produced a decent quality product, full of flavour at a reasonable price. To begin, Pale in colour this was a smooth, vanilla base. In the appearance of knots this was Between an ice cream and whipped ice cream. Fluffy to spoon, mixed throughout featured a strawberry swirl. Bright and Berry this provided a delicate red, sugar like drizzle. Similar to askeys strawberry dessert topping, this was medium/thin in consistency. I liked how this was a strawberry syrup, rather than a pure or pulp sauce. Present majority’s at the top, this sauce drizzled to the bottom of each little container. Decorating each, included some round, white chocolate flecks. Although not many, this was perfect with the vanilla and strawberry sweetness. Health wise at only 187 calories per pot/201 calories per 100g, these are light and airy. With 54-55g at 100ml it is obvious why these have a quick melt. Still a treat these aren’t the worst but certainly not low calorie, especially with being so easy to eat 😅. For some more fun I’ve added almost 3 @skinny_bars Strawberries and cream bars alongside some @zozole_official strawberry chocolate style eggs. Both helped add to the chocolate and strawberry aspect of these tubs. Overall these were a pleasant and delicious product. A nice portion for kids (or big kids 😉) and pretty good value. The white chocolate topping could have had more, alongside chunkier pieces. Being a well known brand and enjoying they’re other tubs, I thought it was time to give this one a go! Containing a soft and creamy base, this had a sweet and fluffy spoonful. Between a vanilla and pale caramel, this provided a mild and flavoursome taste. Like majority of low calorie tubs, this has a light and easy to eat texture. I was glad to find the sweeteners used in this wasn’t obvious like most. Soon the flavour becomes less obvious and more enjoyable. Drizzled inside was a faint, darker caramel swirl. Honey in colour, this had a discrete salted taste, which in my opinion was more of a buttery, sugar caramel. Like the other products by this brand, it has a milky, quick melting point. Health wise this is only 320~calories per tub. It isn’t as dense as a luxury brand and being only ~276g per 473ml, it is obvious why it quickly turns to a liquid. This has the added benefit of protein and great for those trying to reduce sugar, loose weight, or others who want to indulgent in a pint guilt free. For some more fun, what better inclusion to add that some chocolate. I’ve used @cadburyuk @cadburyireland @cadburyworlduk @cadburydairymilkin whole-nut and fruit and nut, which although a contrast worked nicely throughout the caramel. Overall although smooth and simple, this was more pleasant and enjoyable than i expected. Of course a denser base would have been preferable, but with being low calorie alongside salted caramel that was expected. It’s next to impossible to get flavour, density and low calorie combined into one, so I can’t complain. Described as “White Chocolate Crisp-Bourben vanilla flavoured ice cream with sugar and sweeteners, coated in white chocolate and puffed rice”, this box costed a reasonable £2.99 from Lidl. Containing 5 ice cream bars, this is the first of the range I am trying. Similar in structure to the famous Mars and snickers ice cream bars, these were a stick free, chocolate coated ice cream treat. Medium in thickness, this chocolate shell surrounded the whole ice cream in a sweet, white chocolate coating. Built in to its exterior, provided small, round, crisp puffed rice pieces. These added some dimension to each bar, and created a little crunch to its outer contents. Cracking open displayed a pale, vanilla base. Creamy in consistency, in melt these had a mild, milky taste. Slightly artificial, soon you get used to the flavour and sweetener used. Health wise these are low in sugar yet high in protein. The calories are lower than most chocolate coated bars and sticks at just 275 per 100g. If compared to a non-chocolate coated ice cream, this is higher than the average yet similar to a more luxurious brands flavour at the same 100g worth. Each bar is 50-57g so a substantial and satisfying portion with added benefits. For some more white chocolate fun I’ve added a couple of raspberry and white chocolate @skinny_bars crunch bars. These helped enhance the puffed rice outside used and give some more crispness to my tub. Overall I was surprised at its melt for the calorie, however if by itself would have been much quicker. Because of the chocolate coating it was able to prevent it from melting and sealed in its base. Like all low calorie options these did have a slightly different consistency and flavour but they certainly aren’t bad, but a bit like a protein powder when melted. In price they were reasonable value and a pleasant low calorie option with a delicate and enjoyable flavour. Coming in three different flavours, what better one to start with than vanilla! New and exclusive to @icelandfoods @icelandfoodsni @icelandfoodsire @thefoodwarehouseuk @foodwarehouseni, having three flavours I of course had to get all with the deal of ‘3 for £10’ (or £4 if just getting the one). Like all protein ice cream, this isn’t as dense as a full fat one, but the flavour was still pretty good. Containing a pale vanilla base, this had a creamy and smooth consistency. Slightly artificial to begin, soon the flavour became less obvious and more enjoyable. Silky when spooned this is certainly an easy to scoop and serve tub. Lightly podded, this give a real vanilla bean appearance and flavour throughout. Although simple this had a delicate and sweet flavour. Low in weight this whole pint weighed slightly less than 300g per its 500ml tub. Healthy wise this is very low in calories at under 300 per whole container. High in protein and low in sugar, this is perfect for those on a weight loss plan, others who are health conscious or those who simply want to sit down to a pint guilt free. Because I felt it needed a little more excitement I added some chocolate and coconut inclusions. Purchased from @bm_stores I’ve added some Australian coconut @mmsaustralia @mmschocolate @mmsuk alongside some Spanish gold (aka sweet tobacco 😆) which is Sugar Coated Chocolate Flavoured Coconut Strips. Both mixed excellent together and made this tub much more fun. Overall a great tub for its low calorie and added protein values but sadly like I expected it melted pretty quick in comparison a brand like Haagen Dazs or Ben and Jerrys and created an initial sharp sweetener taste.
