Your smallest self doesn’t equal your happiest 🤷🏼‍♀️✨ When I first started my weight loss journey all I wanted was to be smaller. To weigh less was literally my only goal and once I did it, in my mind I thought I’d be happy. After losing 4 stone I realised that weight loss wasn’t the key to a happy life. I still had insecurity’s and things I disliked about myself. Without accepting them and learning to embrace them I couldn’t genuinely love myself. Cutting down for my photo shoot took me to the lightest weight I’ve ever been. It took a dedication which I am proud of myself for completing. But when I look back at the pictures now I don’t feel like I was happy at all. If you showed those pictures to Mia post partum, she 100% would have said that was the body of her dreams. But after being in that body and experiencing it, I know full well it isn’t the body for me. Right now I’ve gained weight back we are 8 months post photo shoot and I’m feeling the best I’ve ever felt. First gym visit, nearly one month post-disc fusion (ACDF) surgery. I've lost so much muscle mass.. Of 22 years in fact… Still working 3 days a week in a salon… and still cutting the same clients hair from way back when 🫶🏻 I’m shit hot at it. I never doubt myself in that respect 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 But… I do doubt myself most days in other aspects of my life. Am I a good enough coach to my clients… Am I a good enough Friend… Sister… Daughter… Wife to be 😉 All of it. However, I don’t always see it as a bad thing. I think it helps me grow as a person. I like to sit back, take a minute and reflect on a lot of shit. Especially recently. Life has been overwhelming. Learning about ourselves is hugely important. It’s how we can push ourselves to achieve what we thought we never could. When you embark on any journey in life, whether that’s Weightloss, a new career, a relationship break up… Whatever it is, you have to allow for the mindset shift. You won’t be able to move forward without it. So when you do doubt yourself, remember it’s normal. A little bit of self doubt can be a really good thing. I could never even pulled 30lbs down on the lateral pull downs, now I’m pulling down 70-80lbs! 🤗 This past few weeks I’ve been pretty consistent with my macros and having my meals — I’ve then lost 10lbs! Buckle up because I’m feeling SPICY today 🌶️ Too many of us lack the ability to be HONEST with ourselves. You “feel” like you’re doing everything right. You “feel” like you’re eating healthy. You “feel” like your workouts are hard and your form is good. You “feel” like you’ve been on track. Feelings are not always TRUTH. I used to complain constantly that I worked SO hard and did “everything” to get in shape but nothing worked for me. Until I hired my first coach and started actually tracking DATA. The truth was: - I over ate most days, I just didnt think those little bites added up - I ate emotionally and needed to address that habit - I worked out every week but my training form & execution were crap - I barely got steps in all day We like to paint idyllic little paintings in our heads of what our days and weeks look like. I would say “I BARELY even ate today!” Because I skipped breakfast, had chicken and broccoli at lunch… 🫠 But then came home and housed a family size bag of pop corners, dinner, 2 protein bars, rice cakes with peanut butter and trail mix. I want to make something very clear: If this sounds like you, under NO circumstances should you be beating yourself up for not “being more disciplined”. I’m aware that honestly assessing your actions is scary. Mostly because you’re not sure HOW to change or WHAT you need to do differently. 👋🏼 Thats where I come in as a coach. I help you take the next step forward. I hold you accountable. Most importantly, I help you approach it from a place of SELF LOVE 💕 We can ALL improve in certain areas.
