🐞 — this is how you lose the time war by amal el-mohtar & max gladstone | rating: 4/5 ❄️ — this was hard for me to get into at first due to the prose. the two main characters, Red & Blue, two agents who work for opposite sides in a time war that is raging across all of time. one works for the Agency, a technological advanced faction, and the Garden, an ecosystem embedded in nature. the story is about a time war going on the plot is the Braid, which is basically a road that the characters jump from place to place in different time eras. the two women begin writing letters to each other between their triumphs, creating a correspondence. this creates an unlikely romance between what should be enemies, sharing life experiences, jokes, flirting, and just thoughtfulness. i have never read a book that is set up like this before and I am glad i picked it up. definitely recommend!! also - if Red & Blue had a song i definitely think it would be the only exception by Paramore :) 🏷️ #thisishowyoulosethetimewar #redandblue #booktok #bookreview #booklover #bookstagram #book #read #reading #readmore #explore #explorepage #bookrecommendations #bookcommunity #bookclub

This is How You Lose the Time War - Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💙 Quote - "Books are letters in bottles, cast into the waves of time, from one person trying to save the world to another." ❤️ Summary - Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandant finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading. Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, grows into something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future. 💙 Review - I don't know where to start with this review. This book is one of a kind, its gripping, its haunting, its incredibly beautiful. I can honestly say a lot of the time I had no idea what was going on but I just didn't care because the whole thing was just ethereal. ❤️ What was the last book that hit you in the feels? . . . #thisishowyoulosethetimewar #booksofinstagram #booksta #bookstagram #booklover #bookphotography #booknerd #bookreview #goodreads #goodreadschallenge #thestorygraph #bibliophile #ukbookstagram #ukbookstagrammer #bookishcommunity #lovereading #readersofinstagram #amalelmohtar #maxgladstone #scifibook

🤞 #wrapup #aprile #aprilwrapup #books #libri #Bookstagram #bookstagrammer #instabook #libribelli #libriininglese #librifantasy #fantasy #blackwater #thegentlemenbastards #thisishowyoulosethetimewar #librilibrilibri #libribelli #readingtime #LetturePrimaverili #letture #lettura #bookstagramitalia

📚: THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone . BLURB: "Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandant finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading. Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, grows into something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future. Except the discovery of their bond would mean death for each of them. There's still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win that war." . . . I absolutely fell in love with this book!!!! Sci-fi is not really my genre but I practically inhaled this (and it's a short read too so it's relatively easy to do!) I was just completely drawn in to the world and to the characters and the way it's written is so achingly beautiful and poetic. The fact I only understood about 75% of it is of no relevance quite frankly because the emotion still poured through every lyrically written sentence even when peppered with so much descriptive sci-fi language. Where it may have started to lose me in parts it immediately pulled me back because the story being told and the connection building between these two rival agents (Red and Blue) is so compelling. At the heart of this book is just that, HEART... that universal longing for connection and to be understood and seen and loved. It's essentially modern day poetry in a science fiction setting and I cannot recommend it enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📚 Have you read it? Kt’s Roaming Reads Pt. 4 🏛️DC Edition🏛️ This weekend I travelled to Woodbridge, VA to work a dance competition, then had a free day on Sunday to explore DC which was just a short drive away. I’d never been, and I must admit, it was pretty gorgeous🤩It was so green and had some of the prettiest architecture in the US in my opinion, but it checks out that we’d want a pretty capital I guess🤷🏼‍♀️ I loved all the memorials and museums!! Regardless, I took a book that’s been on my TBR for a long while and I’m so excited to read it :) I’ve been on the fence about it due to the mixed reviews I’ve seen, but honestly bookstagram (more specifically @aliviasbookshelf lol) finally convinced me, so here I go🤓 Have you read this book or have been to DC? Lmk your thoughts!! (I wish we could’ve seen the White House more up close, it was barely giving the Red, White, & Royal Blue/Cory in the House vibes that I needed😤) #booklover #bookstagram #booksbooksbooks #ThisIsHowYouLoseTheTimeWar #washingtondc #dcmonuments #wlwbooks #lgbtbooks

#resenhaliteraria #resenhadelivros #resenhas #bookreview #bookrecommendations #bookannotations #bookstagram #bookaddict #booklover #bookstanbr #leituras #livroseleitura #livros #livrosemaislivros #éassimqueseperdeaguerradotempo #thisishowyoulosethetimewar #igliterario

With this book, I can say that I get why people love it but it's just not for me. The letters were my favorite part but I did dislike most of the parts where they were looking for the letters or just working until they came across a letter. The ending and how it all looped together was interesting but it's just not a book that I loved. 🔹BLUE🔹 Thanks for the tag @jeanz_library 💙 I definitely have a case of the Monday blues today. The weather is so nice today and going to be super nice all week! Yet here I am at work! I had way more blue books on my shelf than I thought! This isn’t even all of them. Blue might be my most common book color. The ones sticking out from the stack are books I haven’t read yet. Have you read any of these? What color do you think you have most on your shelf?

Sister Guesses Popular Book Titles I thought I will do this fun bookstagram trend where you ask your best friend or spouse to guess the titles of books by just the covers, sans text. I am not sure how this trend started, but anyway I decided to make my sister do it because I am single and I have no friends. My sister has a beautiful mind, not just because she is a genius and like really successful in academia and life, but also because she is a fundamentally chronically offline person. She doesn't know about booktok or fandoms or celebrity news or internet slang. Sometimes while calling myself Succession-pilled or Will Graham-coded I see myself in her 27 year-old eyes and realise she looks at me with the gentle curiousity of a scientist inspecting an alien organic form– something mostly fungal and vegetable, engaging in patterns of behaviour removed from the human realm. That, in turn, gets me reevaluating my life and how I sound in normal society. Which is just to say that she is the perfect candidate for looking at a Booktok bestseller and never knowing the title, thus giving me honest, unscripted opinions. However, even the mighty can fall. When she uttered the word "situationship" for slide 8 she sounded audibly disgusted with herself. Maybe you cannot prevent the horrific fandom osmosis when you are siblings. Who knows. [ Note: There were other books you guys suggested, including Sally Rooney's Normal People, but my sister largely reads literary fiction, classics and thrillers, so she could guess those genres correctly. ]

“Words are abstraction, break off from the green; words are patterns in the way fences and trenches are. Words hurt. I can hide in words so long as I scatter them through my body; to read your letters is to gather flowers from within myself, pluck a blossom here, a fern there, arrange and rearrange them in ways to suit a sunny room.“ -THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone I read this book while (LITERALLY) lost at sea… and I got lost in it! But in a dreamy, romantic kinda way 💘 💭 This is a spy vs. spy sci-fi and sapphic romance novella featuring time traveling! It’s written in an epistolary format. I understood like 40% of what I was reading, until I got about 65% of the way through… and in the end, I think I got like 75% of it! Honestly, though, this book was mainly all vibes and ~getting it~ wasn’t the point at all! I will be rereading it! Soon, hopefully! I’m rusty at book reviewing on here, so forgive me! And I think long captions are out, so I’ll share some additional cutie spring pics 😊

📚APRIL WRAP UP📚 It’s been such a busy month and I have another busy week ahead, so I figured I’d put my April reading recap post up early. It was a so-so month...I found a new favorite in THE HUSBANDS and I enjoyed THE GREAT DIVIDE, but I struggled with some of my reads as well. I wanted to love WANDERING STARS by Tommy Orange, but overall I felt it needed more plot than what this character-driven story had to offer...maybe I would have understood the writing style more if I had read THERE THERE prior to picking up this one. THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR was a miss for me as well after hearing so many raves. Here are my rankings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ • The Husbands by Holly Gramazio • The Great Divide by Cristina Henríquez ⭐⭐⭐ • Good Material by Dolly Alderton • This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone • Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange • The Morningside by Téa Obreht Now onwards to May! "𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑰 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅.” 𝑹𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: ★★★★★ 𝑻𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔: This is more novella than book, but there are no superfluous words. Every single sentence adds another piece to the universe that our protagonists Red and Blue live in. Each letter they write to each other is unique, and I loved seeing all the ways that messages could be sent. How much can you really know about another person through letters, especially when they should be the antithesis of everything that you stand for? Not everything of course, but maybe just enough. The slow realization of their mutual dissatisfaction with the status quo of constant conflict was directly related to their slow humanization of each other, and truly that’s the only way to peace. The words in this book make my heart sing, and the love story makes my heart swell. I want to ingest the pages until my blood turns to ink and all my favorite lines blossom onto my skin. I want to quote this book to every stranger that I meet, and then cry with happiness when someone finally quotes back. I want to see this book on someone’s shelf and wrap this kindred spirit in the embrace of two friends reuniting. I want to read everything else that El-Mohtar and Gladstone have written. If this was a holy text then I am standing on the corner asking passerby if they’d like a copy. I’ve read this book twice in two months, and shared it with a friend who also loved it, which makes it all the more special to me. If you’re the type of person who keeps all the cards anyone has ever written them (several from my collection are featured in the photo), then you will fall in love with Time War just as much as I have. 💌

Long live the sapphics! Some wlw-themed books for this Sunday ~ General updates from me involve relief at being done with oral exams, reluctance to start prepping for literally every other exam + sourcing teacher gifts, and a lack of energy and time to do anything fun like reading ! Received this as a gift. So different to anything I’ve read, short one at 201 pages and very mixed reviews from people I do know and online reviews. Admittedly it did take me two goes to start it as it is a bit confusing. Launches in pretty quickly but I actually didn’t mind it. You need to let go of any world building you’re used to in order to be thrown into some wild scenes, it was kind of freeing. The letters were really poetic and lovely which made it a nice read. Probably wouldn’t read it again but nice to try something different. . . . #26 #thisishowyoulosethetimewar #maxgladstone #reading #sciencefiction #bookamonth #booksbooksbooks #bookstagram #201pages

This Is How You Lose the Time War is the story of Blue and Red, two agents from rival factions in the ongoing time war. A mysterious letter — which reads ‘Burn Before Reading’ — kicks off their correspondence and their unlikely friendship which turns into something more. This Is How You Lose the Time War is one of the strangest books I've ever read… I'm not really sure how to review this; I feel utterly incompetent. It’s a beautiful book that, I believe, is first and foremost about love. It's lyrical, it's poetic, it's romantic, it's epic, it's funny, it's sad, it's hopeful, it's bittersweet, it's abstract, it's existential dread… it's strange — it's *a lot*. The prose is beautiful — sometimes, purple. And isn't it poetic; the conversation between characters named Blue and Red turning purple? And isn't it romantic; Blue saving Red and Red saving Blue before they knew each other, even though one of them did know the other? Wait… what am I saying?! I sound like that episode of Friends: they don't know that we know they know we know! I realize not much of this makes sense — maybe none of it does. And that's because this was written immediately after I finished the book and was not edited, at all. But I think this style of ‘review’ suits the book so…yeah. I really liked this book — I liked it more than I expected to like it when I started it, because it’s a strange book. (In case I haven’t mentioned that!) Despite the strangeness, I think this is a book that will stay with me. It’s a beautiful story told in beautiful writing: “Love is what we have, against time and death, against all the powers ranged to crush us down.” Have you read it? Or are you planning to? 🙂

This is how you lose the time war by Amal El Mohtar & Max Gladstone Rating: 3/5 ⏰⏰⏰ I myself am running out of time for my assignments (and also patience for the end of semester which is still sadly three weeks away). Anyways how fitting is the title w my current mood, like what better day/night to review this (was acc the first book I had read this year, january smthing)!! ‘This is how you lose the time war’ is about yearning and betrayal, told through a series of letters (exchanged between two time travellers, Red & Blue, from opposite sides/agencies). Over the course of their correspondence (which started as a joke/boast of sorts, a dare even) and constant pushing/pulling to better order the universe to their ‘side’, they fall in love. It’s like Romeo and Juliet but about a love that transcends time, space and humanity as a whole. It’s lyrical and full of dizzying prose which is why the pace in which u read this IS of utmost importance. If read too slowly, all the sci-fi world building parts will get in between and make u overthink/over imagine BUT if u read too quickly, you’ll probs not understand a thing and miss a whole lot. So yea do keep this in mind whilst making ur way through, pace yourself well because if done and read properly you’re in for a treat. Passionate proses and strong visuals, abstract, original and a little confusing but brilliant nevertheless. A good change from what I (and probably YOU) usually read. P.S. the ONLY reason I gave it a 3 was because: I wasn’t entirely convinced by the transition, like the whole ‘from enemies to starstruck lovers’ thing. It was too abrupt and quick!!! Maybe it’s also because I’m not a scifi lover but I just didn’t care and wasn’t that invested into this world of theirs, as in I didn’t connect nor empathise as much. I think they should’ve provided more context/foundation for the concept of their story to sit on (or maybe I’m just too lazy and dumb to fully concentrate and process all that is being said). Also another side note: IVE never come across a book that was cowritten, like how cool and rare is that???!!! I didn’t even know it was possible/a thing?!! #thisishowyoulosethetimewar

#thisishowyoulosethetimewar our @ottawasocialgirlclub April book club read. One of the most gorgeously written stories I've read in a long time. This book is far more poem than genre fiction piece. A sapphic romance, a slow-burn of letters, a flirtation, a devotion through time, space and matter. How better to describe the overwhelming magnitude of love than to say "I make metaphors to approach the enormous fact of you on a slant"? This is How You Lose the Time War is a book for anyone who has ever clutched a letter tightly to their chest and felt the intensity and sweetness of being truly known.  @amalelmohtar and @max.gladstone have made something gorgeous and strange. May we all be blessed with such ruthless, celebratory love.

This Is How You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone For me this book had a lot of ups and downs. The concept alone was incredible two time agents (Red & Blue) fighting on different sides collide and start communicating back and forth through time in the coolest possible way. This is heavy duty sci-fi. If you’re a fan of William Gibson you will love this book there written very similar. #thisishowyoulosethetimewar #amalelmohtar #maxgladstone #blue #red #timeagents #timetravel #enemiestolovers #war #readingtime #booklover #timetoread #love #bookgrammer #bookstagram #bookworm #ilovebooks #booknerd #bookaddicts #instabook

"I love you. I love you. I love you. I'll write it in waves. In skies. In my heart. You'll never see, but you will know. I'll be all the poets, I'll kill them all and take each one's place in turn, and every time love's written in all the strands it will be to you." This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone 🌹🐦 I'm gonna sound like a know-it-all but I could see where the plot was going to go (in a general sense) from the beginning. The beauty of this story is definitely in the prose. I don't feel like I'm intelligent enough to like actually review this book. I reread Time War last week, so it’s time for me to fangirl about it once again. This time I was hyper focused on the pet names they give each other in their letters. They bring about a range of emotions from giggling & kicking my feet to gut-wrenching pain. I skimmed through it again to make this post, & every single word induces a physical ache of yearning in me that few books have made me experience before. I have a routine every time I reread this book. It has to be in one sitting, so I wait for the perfect evening - always on a weekend “sorry I can’t come out tonight I’m busy yearning” - Just as the sun is setting I pour a glass of wine, curl up in bed and get started. The evening that follows is a slow progression of my emotions becoming more and more untethered. I sob uncontrollably every time. Especially during THOSE letters near the end. Immediately after, I either cry myself to sleep or stare at a wall until I pass out from exhaustion. 10/10 recommend the whole experience. I’m ready to reread it again tbh

[WORLD BOOK DAY] . Books, amirite? I think it’s a pretty good bet that 85% of you are here (seeing this post in your feed) because of books. Because you love reading books, or writing books, or both. . I always loved books; As an escape and as entertainment. As a means of understanding the world, past and present, of making sense of emotions, of educating myself. As inspiration for the future. . I count myself extremely privileged to be able to read as much as I do. And not least to be able to write as much as I do. . The first slide is a stack of some of my favourite new(ish) books in the speculative genres, featuring my headphones because I depend so heavily on audiobooks. (Not pictured: A bunch of other authors I’ve discovered recently and whose books I don’t yet own, but you can find them in my monthly reading posts.) The second slide is a self-indulgent stack of the books I’ve had published so far with some works in progress (ie notebooks) in the background. . Thank you, writers, for your books. 💚 And thank you to my readers for being part of the journey. 💚 . If you are reading this, please comment ⤵️ with your current or most recent read! Did I totally diverge from my TBR to finally read this backlist book?! Yes I did!! It was in at @nypl and so I checked it out, read it, and returned it within 48 hours. What’s a backlist book you keep meaning to get to, but haven’t?? “How to Lose the Time War” and I spent an absolute gorgeous Saturday at @brooklynbotanic in peak cherry blossom season. I really enjoyed finding a bench and just reading in all the atmosphere. There were so many other people at the park getting their plant love in. As for this book?! It’s everything it’s hyped to be. It’s funny, heartbreaking, wibbly wobbly timey wimey, and queer! It's also a GREAT way to start off Lesbian Visibility Week, this book is so beautifully sapphic. To read about The Garden in a garden was properly meta, especially while thinking about The Agency and the devastation in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine, Congo and all the other places where death and war rage on. I really loved the way that the el-Mohtar and Gladstone decided to write this tale. The epistolary style really worked and added to the heartbreak and longing. It certainly didn’t feel like some cowritten books where you can see the seams between the two authors. Incredibly bingeable book. Even the authors’ note at the end was hilarious. I picked this song to accompany because one, it is also beautiful and simultaneously sad, two; safety is being longed for, and three; lay down our weapons refrain 💔 May peace break out abundantly on this up and down this thread and the next.

This Is How You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone 📚 | Rating: ⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (4.25) 📷 | Fushimi Inari Shrine Entrance, Kyoto, Japan (Sep 2018) Time travel, surrealism, and sapphic romance! 🐦 The story tells of two rival agents, meddling through time, slowly discovering each other through letter correspondence. Letters written on the ashes of an erupting volcano, on the swirls in a cup of tea, in seeds and in stars. Despite the strangeness of the world and the confounding prose, I couldn’t put it down. Even though I had to (often) go back and reread sentences and paragraphs just to grasp what the heck was going on, it was very enjoyable. This book forced me to read super slowly. It’s like a collection of poetry strung together by a plot. I could picture some things clear as day, while other things could only be imagined in abstract. If you’ve ever seen the show “Scavenger’s Reign”, that’s how I pictured this story. Weird, nonsensical, but the characters progress through it like it’s just another day. If you’re into that vibe, you’ll probably like this one. If not, you’ll probably find it too much.

º This Is How You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone #bookreview 5/5 🪐 with the mad release of the tortured poets department, I couldn’t help but think of this book that is most apt with the album’s theme of poetic and lyrical storytelling. diving into the pages of TIHYLTTW is beguiling. one moment you are hovering over ashen ground of a battlefield’s aftermath, the next you are burning astronauts in their cockpit launchpad, and then even mulling over the existence and relevance of the ‘atlantis’ — all while being madly attracted or even falling in love to someone you have never even seen, more so, your enemy. the narratives unfold through a correspondence between two rival agents in a war that stretches through time and space. Red is from the Agency and Blue is from the Gardens, two major playing forces in an ongoing war where the world and all within it are collaterals. the two protagonists have one thing in common — they are both the best in their games and they are alone. allow me to say: “holy shit that was good” — these are actually the same words uttered upon closing the last page. I am a fan of time travel, especially when you infuse it in with the ‘predestination paradox’. this one blew my mind with the way it executed the style. this is not your typical enemies-to-lovers on a sci-fi setting trope. expect to be confused in the first few chapters. for some it might be a mood-killer, but the lyrical prose made me plow through, and damn it was really worth it. the plot of what is happening in the war is also vague in the book’s entirety, the technicalities of it muted, which I think is meant so that the readers can focus on the budding relationship between Blue and Red. the fact that this was written by two authors made me think of how fun the process of coming up with the sweet banters in this book must be. to be honest, if you’re running short of romantic/sweet lines to quote on your post, this book can save your captions. in Filipino reference it’s like ‘landian sa asotea in the most poetic of ways’ lol. most lines strike deeply, while others may sound too cheesy but isn’t [comments]

Book review: This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone (4/5 ⭐) I was led to believe by a friend who had read it that this book was rather confusing, but didn't find myself confused while reading it. I think some of the worldbuilding was left to be implied given the short length, but I didn't feel it took away from the story at all. It was enjoyable to follow the main characters through their journey together, and to watch their plans fall together and apart as they learned about themselves and their place(s) in the world. The epistolary elements added to the story without pouring the story into the letters, which can be a tricky line to walk. I haven't read anything by either of these authors before, but I found myself trying to guess who might have written what and would be willing to dive into their other works in the future. #books #bookish #bookreviews #booksbooksbooks #booksta #booksuggestions #bookrecommendations #bookstoread #bookreviews #booksta #thisishowyoulosethetimewar #reading #readersreview #exenglishmajor

📖 this is how you lose the time war ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 . . . The book was so good and 100% deserves so much more hype. It was such a quick and great read. If you love, love letters, time travel and sapphic romance this read is perfect for you! My only really complaint is that I wish it was longer. I felt like with more length there could have been more world building and it would have made it easier to understand earlier on in the book. Otherwise it was amazing I just loved the connection that Blue and Red had. . . . #thisishowyoulosethetimewar #bookreview #redandblue #scifi #timetravel #lgbtq #loveletter #bookrecs #bookstagram

⏳𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤, 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬⌛️ This Is How You Lose the Time War: - “PS. 𝐈 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, Red, but this is me, the truth of me, as I do so: broken open by the act, in the palm of your hand, dying.” - “There’s a kind of time travel in letters, isn’t there? I imagine you laughing at my small joke; I imagine you groaning; I imagine you throwing my words away. 𝐃𝐨 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥? Do I address empty air and the flies that will eat this carcass? You could leave me for five years, you could return never—and I have to write the rest of this not knowing.” - “Hunger, Red—to sate a hunger or to stoke it, to feel hunger as a furnace, to trace its edges like teeth—𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲, 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰? Have you ever had a hunger that whetted itself on what you fed it, sharpened so keen and bright that it might split you open, break a new thing out? Sometimes I think that’s what I have instead of friends.” Thank you @abookishmom for tagging me in this challenge! (I think I was tagged in this a while back from someone too and didn’t realize it at the time so 🫠 better late than never lmao) TIHYLTTW has to be one of my all time favorite novellas. The difficult part was deciding which quotes to post, as I could find myself posting a quote from each page. This Is How You Lose the Time War isn’t for everyone, but I do highly recommend people looking into it if you haven’t. TIHYLTTW is a sapphic sci-fi time travel war romance, and it is one of the most beautifully written pieces I’ve come across. __ #ausgelesen2024 #thisishowyoulosethetimewar #amarelmothar #maxgladstone #bookstagramdeutschland

👾This Is How You Lose the Time War👾 • Fave quote: “I have been birds and branches. I have been bees and wolves. I have been ether flooding the void between stars, tangling their breath into networks of song. I have been fish and plankton and humus, and all of these have been me.” • Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 • This has been my FAVORITE read of the year so far!! I truly wish there were more books like this! My only qualm with it was that at first I couldn’t figure out who was speaking/reading, which is most likely my own fault haha! I just am amazed at how wonderful of writers people can be! I really did. feel like i was lost in this book, and now I want to recommend it to everyone! Sci-fi isn’t my typical genre, in fact, I’d say I don’t tend to like it at all, but this one is just a masterpiece!! Even if you don’t think you’d be interested, go ahead and pick it up and take a gander!
